General Conference Leadership Meeting—October 2024

Living Inside the Miracle of the Restoration

Instruction from Elder Neil L. Andersen

The kingdom of God upon the earth is drawing our attention in greater ways to our Savior Jesus Christ as we are more home-centered, chapel-gathered, and temple-focused, in preparation for our Savior’s return.

The Lord has marvelously set our course by blessing His Saints with the resources to expand and operate the temples across the earth. Through His prophet, He has announced 168 new temples, bringing His houses closer and more available to His Saints. Through revelation, He has focused and refined the endowment presentation, emphasizing the centrality of our Savior Jesus Christ, the power of His ordinance, and the safety of the sacred covenants we make with our Heavenly Father.

How important is our contribution? President Russell M. Nelson and his counselors have consecrated significant time in each of the 13 general conferences since their calling to the First Presidency to teaching the power, the principles, and the blessings of the temple. As we teach about the temple, here are a few of the topics to emphasize:

  1. Jesus Christ Is Central

  2. Who We Are, Where We’re Going

  3. Priesthood Keys; Ordinances

  4. Safety of Covenants

  5. Protection, Miracles, Revelation

  6. Promises of a Prophet

The general conference messages of the First Presidency will give you a treasure of inspired teachings.

Think of our responsibility in the miracle of the Lord’s houses across the world, as we contemplate these words from Jacob 5:

And the Lord of the vineyard said unto them: Go to, and labor in the vineyard, with your might. For behold, this is the last time that I shall nourish my vineyard; for the end is nigh at hand. …

And it came to pass that the servants did go and labor with their mights; and the Lord of the vineyard labored also with them. …

… And the natural branches began to grow and thrive exceedingly. …

And thus they labored, with all diligence, … and they became like unto one body. …

And … the Lord of the vineyard saw that his fruit was good, … [and He said to His servants,] blessed art thou; for because ye have been diligent in laboring with me … ye shall have joy with me because of the fruit of my vineyard. (Jacob 5:71–75)
