Memorize References and Key Scripture Phrases

Remembering scripture passages and truths taught in them can help you in many ways. Throughout the year, you will be encouraged to memorize the scripture references and key scripture phrases for each of the 24 New Testament doctrinal mastery passages. This lesson is intended to help you memorize some of the scripture references and key scripture phrases from the first 11 doctrinal mastery scripture passages in the New Testament.

Using visuals to help with memorization

Memorizing doctrinal mastery scripture passages can help you remember the Savior’s words and recall them in times of need. There are many different strategies you can use to help you memorize the scriptures. This lesson will focus on using visuals to help you solidify your memorization of certain key scripture phrases from the New Testament doctrinal mastery passages.

The following is a list of the first 11 New Testament doctrinal mastery scripture passages. Consider marking these passages along with their key scripture phrase if you have not yet done so.

Find or draw pictures that could help you remember the scripture reference and key scripture phrase from one of the first 11 New Testament doctrinal mastery scripture passages. Your creation could contain one or two pictures that help you remember an entire key scripture phrase, or it could contain different pictures for each word in the key scripture phrase. As you are working on your creation, think about how the passage you are focusing on relates to Jesus Christ and His gospel.
