I can use technology with a purpose. It doesn’t control me.

Technology connects me to some amazing people (and about two million cat videos). But sometimes I get caught up in scrolling or responding to people. Whenever this happens, it helps me to remember that I control technology. It doesn’t control me. I can use it for what I need and then move on to something else.

Here are some questions that help me:

• Why am I using this device right now?

• Do I feel good about what I’m doing?

• How long will I spend on this device?

Sometimes it’s hard for me to describe how I’m feeling. This video helped me put it into words. Maybe it will help you too.
