What’s Up?

Conducting Meetings
I really liked “How Do I Conduct a Meeting?” in the February 2013 issue. I was recently called as a deacons quorum president, and your article helped me get used to that particular part of the calling. I now feel more comfortable, and the article helped me avoid that awkward silence that can come when you don’t know what you’re supposed to do. Thank you.

Planning a Date
The day after I read “A Change of Plan” (May 2013), I was in almost the same situation. I was going on a group date and my date told me we were planning to go to a movie I felt uncomfortable seeing. After I read this article, I had the courage to call my date and ask if we could do something else. We ended up playing games instead and had a lot of fun while also keeping our standards high.

My Favorite Scripture
2 Nephi 2:9 “[Jesus Christ] shall make intercession for all the children of men; and they that believe in him shall be saved.”
In this scripture, the word intercession has great meaning. It means “acting as a mediator to help two parties resolve a problem.” In this case, the Savior is the Mediator who helps all people who have become separated from Heavenly Father because of sin.
This scripture helped me know the importance of our Savior, Jesus Christ. I am grateful for His Atonement. Only through Him can we live again with our Father in Heaven.
