Gather all the different devices in your home that can shine light. Turn them all on.
Now sit in a circle around them and turn off the lights you usually use!
Talk about what kinds of lights were available to your ancestors back in ancient times. What about your ancestors a couple generations ago? What lights did your parents use when they were kids?
Our ancestors probably would’ve loved to be able to light up a room with a simple switch! Just like there are more ways for us to create physical light today, there are more ways for us to share spiritual light than ever before!
Turn your regular lights back on and read 3 Nephi 12:15–16. Come up with some different ideas for how you could share your light this week as a family or class.
You could even try learning the Christmas song “Shine Bright,” which was recently released.
