Why I Wushu. Or: How Physical Goals Help Us Progress.

What’s wushu, and what does it have to do with Children and Youth?

I like to practice wushu, a traditional Chinese martial art. (武 Wu = military or martial; 術 shu = art.) Wushu is more than just fighting. It is an art: the body creates figures of elegance and gracefulness in the midst of tough situations, which is why it is called a martial art.

When I first started wushu, I was just going along with my friends. But as time went on and my friends started to quit, I stayed because the sport still had a lot for me to learn and improve on.

I like our daily routines. I like the stretches we do and how my body is benefiting from all the practice and exercises.

Wushu teaches you about discipline in all the things that we do.

Wushu not only helps me become physically fit, but it also helped in making me persevere in tough situations, may it be inside the sport or outside.
