Machu Picchu is een oude stad hoog in het Andesgebergte. De Inca’s bouwden de stad honderden jaren geleden. Ze gebruikten touwbruggen om naar de andere kant van ravijnen te komen!

In Peru houden de mensen schapen, lama’s en alpaca’s in de bergen. Ze gebruiken de wol van de dieren om kleding, dekens en vloerkleden te maken.

In de rivier de Amazone leven roze dolfijnen! De rivier begint in de bergen van Peru en stroomt door het Amazonewoud.

Peru heeft drie officiële talen: Spaans, Quechua en Aymara. De meeste mensen spreken Spaans. Er worden tientallen andere talen gesproken in het Amazonewoud!
