ʻOku ou fakamoʻoni ki he ngaahi tāpuaki maʻongoʻonga ko ia ʻo e fānaú pea mo e fiefia te nau ʻomi kiate kitautolu ʻi he moʻuí ni pea ʻi he taʻengatá.

Elder Neil L. Andersen

ʻI he taimi ʻoku tau vakai ai ki he fofonga ʻo e fānaú, ʻoku tau sio ai ki ha foha pe ʻofefine ʻo e ʻOtuá ne tuʻu fakataha mo kitautolu ʻi he maama fakalaumālié.

ʻOku tau tui ki he ngaahi fāmilí pea ʻoku tau tui ki he ʻi ai e fānaú.

ʻI he taimi ʻoku fāʻeleʻi mai ai ha fānau ki ha husepāniti mo ha uaifi, ʻokú na fakahoko ʻa e konga ʻo e palani ʻa ʻetau Tamai Hēvaní ke ʻomi ha fānau ki he māmaní. Naʻe folofola ʻa e ʻEikí, “Ko ʻeku ngāue ʻeni mo hoku nāunaú—ke fakahoko e moʻui-taʻe-faʻa-mate mo e moʻui taʻengata ʻa e tangatá.”1 Kimuʻa ʻi he moʻui taʻe-faʻa-maté, kuo pau ke ʻi ai e moʻui fakamatelié.

Ko e fāmilí ko e tuʻutuʻuni ia ʻa e ʻOtuá. Ko e ngaahi fāmilí ʻa e uho ʻo e palani ʻa ʻetau Tamai Hēvaní ʻi he māmaní pea ʻi hono kotoa ʻo e nofo taʻengatá. Hili hono fakahoko e malí ʻo fakatahaʻi ai ʻa ʻĀtama mo ʻIví, oku pehē ʻe he folofolá, “Pea naʻe tāpuakiʻi ʻa kinaua ʻe he ʻOtuá, pea folofola ʻa e ʻOtuá kiate kinaua, Fanafanau, mo fakatokolahi, mo fakakakai ʻa māmani.”2 Kuo fakahā ʻe he kau palōfita mo e kau ʻaposetolo ʻi hotau kuongá ni, “ʻOku fekauʻaki ʻa e fuofua fekau ne tuku ʻe he ʻOtuá kia ʻĀtama mo ʻIví pea mo e meʻa te na malava ʻi hona tuʻunga fakaemātuʻá, ko ha husepāniti mo e uaifi. ʻOku mau fakahā ai heni ʻoku kei tuʻu maʻu pē ʻa e fekau ko ia ʻa e ʻOtuá ki Heʻene fānaú ke nau fanafanau mo fakatokolahi ʻa māmaní.”3

Kuo teʻeki ai ke fakangaloʻi pe tuku ʻa e fekaú ni ki he tafaʻakí ʻi he Siasi ʻo Sīsū Kalaisi ʻo e Kau Māʻoniʻoni ʻi he Ngaahi ʻAho Kimui Ní.4 ʻOku tau fakahā ʻetau loto houngaʻia moʻoni ki he tui lahi ʻoku fakahā ʻe he ngaahi husepānití mo e uaifí (tautefito ki hotau uaifí) ʻi heʻenau loto fiemālie ke fāʻeleʻi ʻa e fānaú. Ko e fili ʻa e taimi ke maʻu ai ha fānaú pea mo e tokolahi ʻo e fānaú ko e meʻa pē ia ʻi he vahaʻa ʻo ha husepāniti mo ha uaifi pea mo e ʻEikí. Ko ha ngaahi fili ʻeni ʻoku toputapu—ko ha ngaahi fili ʻoku totonu ke lotua fakamātoato pea fakahoko ʻi he tui lahi.

Naʻe fai mai ʻe ʻEletā Sēmisi O. Meisoni ʻo e Kau Fitungofulú e talanoá ni kiate au ʻi he ngaahi taʻu lahi kuohilí: “He ʻikai ngalo e taimi ne fāʻeleʻi mai ai ʻema tama fika onó.
