Sister Marie Gina Joseph is Called to Serve
Sister Marie Gina Joseph is a new area organization advisor for the Caribbean Area. She was born and raised in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. At the age of 28 she married Fritzner A. Joseph and they raised five children, four girls and one boy. Together they find great joy in their six grandchildren.
Sister Joseph received her first diploma in secretarial science and currently she is a student of BYU-Idaho seeking a bachelor’s degree in applied health sciences. She finds pleasure in cooking, sewing, and gardening and she feels blessed to have had opportunities to serve in various Church callings such as Relief Society president, Primary president, and Young Women’s counselor. She and her husband served four years presiding over the Port-au-Prince, Haiti Mission, two years as self-reliance service missionaries and currently she is the matron of the Port-au-Prince Haiti Temple.
Christmas is a special season for her because it’s a shared, colorful and lovely month. She says, “I always enjoy all the Christmas traditions. It’s a great opportunity to serve others and to be grateful for our Savior.”
Sister Joseph testifies of the truthfulness of our divinity, and that our Heavenly Father loves us. If we obey His commandments, we’ll be blessed by His restored priesthood and that divine power will be our constant companion. She concludes by saying, “Jesus Christ is my Savior, I’m so grateful for His sacrifice, because of Him I have so many blessings in my life. I love Him.”
