ʻAlamā 8–12

Talateú

ʻI he ngāue fakafaifekau ʻa ʻAlamā ki he kolo ko ʻAmonaihaá ʻokú ne fakahaaʻi mai e tokoni ʻa e ʻOtuá kiate kinautolu ʻoku nau talangofua faivelenga kiate Iá, ʻo aʻu ki he taimi faingataʻá pe feilaulau fakatāutahá (vakai, 1 Nīfai 1:20). “Fuʻu Lotu Lahi”

  • ʻOku fakahā ʻe he kupuʻi lea ko e “fuʻu lotu lahí” e fetuʻutaki mālohi, pea fonu ʻi he tuí mo e ʻOtuá.

“Tuku muʻa ke u fehuʻi atu he ʻahó ni ke ke fakakaukau ki he ʻaonga hoʻo ngaahi lotú? ʻOkú ke ongoʻi ofi fēfē ki hoʻo Tamai Hēvaní? ʻOkú ke ongoʻi nai ʻoku tali hoʻo lotú? ʻOkú ke ongoʻi nai ʻoku hanga ʻe he taimi ʻokú ke fakaʻaongaʻi ke ke lotu aí, ʻo fakalahi mo langaki hake ho laumālié? ʻOku fie maʻu nai ke toe fakaleleiʻi ia?

“ ʻOku lahi e ngaahi ʻuhinga ʻoku vaivai ai ʻetau ngaahi lotú. ʻAlamā 8:10–16. ʻE Tokoniʻi ʻe he ʻEikí Kitautolu ʻi he Taimi ʻOku Tau Faivelenga Aí

  • Hili ha ola lelei ʻo hono malangaʻi ʻe ʻAlamā e ongoongoleleí ʻi he ngaahi kolo kehé, ne fehiʻanekinaʻi, ʻanuhia, pea kapusi ia mei ʻAmonaihā. Ne fakapapauʻi ange kiate ia ʻe ha ʻāngelo ko ʻene ngaahi ngāué ʻoku fakahōifua ki he ʻEikí pea ʻoku totonu ke foki ʻo toe malanga ki he kakaí (vakai, ʻAlamā 8:15–16). Naʻe pehē ʻe Palesiteni Tōmasi S. Monisoni ʻi haʻane lea kiate kinautolu ʻoku nau ongoʻi ʻoku ʻikai feʻunga honau lelei tahá pe ʻikai lavameʻá:

“‘Fai ho fatongiá, ko e lelei tahá ia. Tuku ʻa e toengá ki he ʻEikí’ [‘The Legend Beautiful’ fai ʻe Henry Wadsworth Longfellow].

“ Ka ʻi ai ha taha te ne ongoʻi ʻoku fuʻu vaivai fau ke ne liliu ʻa e fakamafasia ʻi heʻene moʻuí, pe ʻe ʻi ai ha niʻihi ʻoku ʻikai ke nau lava ʻo tukupā ke fai lelei ange tuʻunga ʻi he lahi ʻenau manavasiʻí—ʻo manavasiʻi naʻa ʻikai lavá—ʻoku ʻikai ha meʻa fakafiemālie pau ange ka ko e folofola ʻa e ʻEikí: ‘ ʻOku feʻunga ʻa ʻeku ʻofá ki he tangata kotoa pē ʻoku nau fakavaivaiʻi ʻa kinautolu ʻi hoku ʻaó; he kapau te nau fakavaivaiʻi ʻa kinautolu ʻi hoku ʻaó, pea tui kiate au, te u liliu ʻa e ngaahi meʻa vaivaí ko e mālohi kiate kinautolu’ [ʻEta 12:27].

“ ʻOku ʻi he potu kotoa pē ʻa e maná ke maʻu ʻi he taimi te tau fakahoko totonu ai hotau ngaahi uiuiʻi ʻi he lakanga fakataulaʻeikí. ʻI he taimi ʻe fetongi ai ʻe he tuí ʻa e veiveiuá, ʻe he taʻesiokitá ʻa e feinga ʻoku siokitá, ʻoku toki fakahoko leva ʻe he mālohi ʻo e ʻOtuá ʻa ʻEne ngaahi taumuʻá” (ʻi he Conference Report, ʻOkatopa 1999, 64–65; pe Liahona, Sānuali 2000, 59).

“Neongo pe ko e hā e lahi ʻo ʻetau tui ke talangofua ki he ʻOtuá he lolotonga ní, ʻe fie maʻu ke hokohoko atu ʻetau kei fakamālohia mo fakafoʻou maʻu pē iá. Te tau lava ʻo fakahoko ʻeni ʻaki haʻatau fakapapauʻi he taimí ni ke toe vave ange ʻetau talangofuá mo vilitaki ke kātakí. Ko e kī ki he mateuteu fakalaumālié ko e ako ke kamata vave mo taʻefeliliuaki. …

“Kuo ʻosi foaki mai ʻe ha Tamai Hēvani ʻofa mo Hono ʻAlo Pelé ʻa e ngaahi tokoni kotoa pē ʻOkú Na malavá, ke tau lavaʻi ʻa e sivi kuo tuku mai ʻi he moʻuí. Ka kuo pau ke tau fili ke talangofua pea fakahoko ia. ʻOku tau fakatupulaki ʻa e tui ke lavaʻi ʻa e ngaahi sivi ʻo e talangofuá ʻi ha vahaʻataimi pea ʻi heʻetau ngaahi fili fakaʻahó. Te tau lava ʻo fili he taimí ni ke fakahoko vave ha meʻa pē ʻoku fie maʻu ʻe he ʻOtuá meiate kitautolu” (ʻi he Conference Report, ʻOkatopa 2005, 39, 41; pe Liahona, Nōvema 2005, 38, 40).

ʻOku faʻa fakapapauʻi ʻe he ʻaukaí ki he ʻEikí ʻoku fakamātoato ʻetau kole ʻoku faí. … ʻOku tau fakavaivaiʻi hotau laumālié ʻi he taimi ʻoku tau ʻaukai aí, pea ʻoku ngaohi ai kitautolu ke tau femahinoʻaki mo e ʻOtuá mo ʻEne ngaahi taumuʻa toputapú” (ʻi he Conference Report, Apr. 2002, 68; pe Liahona, Siulai 2002, 67).

  • Ne lau fakalautelau ‘e ‘Eletā Siosefa B. Uefilini e ngaahi tāpuaki ʻoku tau aʻusia ʻi heʻetau tānaki atu e lotú ki ha ʻaukai ʻoku tāú:

“Ko e ʻaukaí, ʻi he taimi ʻoku kau fakataha ai mo e faʻa lotú, ʻoku hoko leva ia ko ha meʻa mālohi fau. Te ne lava ʻo fakafonu hotau ʻatamaí ʻaki e ngaahi fakahā ʻo e Laumālié. Te ne lava ʻo fakamālohia kitautolu he ngaahi taimi ʻo e ʻahiʻahí.

“ ʻE lava ke tokoni e ʻaukaí mo e lotú ke fakatupulaki ʻiate kitautolu ha loto-toʻa mo ha loto-falala. Te na lava ʻo fakamālohia hotau ʻulungāangá mo langaki ʻetau anga faʻa fakamaʻumaʻú mo mapuleʻi kitá. ʻI he taimi ʻoku tau faʻa ʻaukai aí, ʻoku maʻu ʻe heʻetau ngaahi lotú mo e kole māʻoniʻoní ha mālohi lahi ange. ʻOku tupulaki ʻa e fakamoʻoní. ʻOku tau matuʻotuʻa fakalaumālie mo fakaeloto pea fakamāʻoniʻoniʻi ai hotau laumālié. ʻI he taimi kotoa pē ʻoku tau ʻaukai aí, ʻoku tau toe mapuleʻi lelei ange ai hotau ngaahi uʻá mo e holi fakamāmaní. …

“ ʻE hanga ʻe he ʻaukai ʻi he laumālie totonú mo e founga ʻa e ʻEikí ʻo fakaivia fakalaumālie kitautolu. Te ne fakamālohia ʻetau mapuleʻi kitautolú, fakafonu hotau ngaahi ʻapí ʻaki e melinó, fakafiefiaʻi hotau lotó, maluʻi kitautolu mei he ʻahiʻahí, teuteuʻi kitautolu ki he ngaahi taimi ʻo e faingataʻá pea mo fakaava ʻa e ngaahi matapā ʻo e langí” (ʻi he Conference Report, Apr. 2001, 95, 97–98; pe Liahona, Siulai 2001, 73, 75).

ʻAlamā 9:14–23. ʻOku ʻOmai ʻe he Ngaahi Tāpuaki Maʻongoʻongá e Ngaahi Fatongia Lahi

  • Ne fakatokanga ʻa ʻAlamā neongo e anga-fulikivanu e kau Leimaná ʻi he taimi ko iá, ʻe leleiʻia ange e ʻEikí ʻiate kinautolu ʻi he kakai ʻo ʻAmonaihaá ʻi he ʻaho ʻo e fakamāú (vakai, ʻAlamā 9:14). Ne muimui pē e kau Leimaná he ngaahi tukufakaholo hala ne tukuʻau mai kiate kinautolú, ka ko e kau Nīfaí pea mo e kakai ʻo ʻAmonaihaá ko ha “kakai ʻofeina lahi pehē ʻe he ʻEikí; … ʻofeina ange ʻi he puleʻanga, mo e faʻahinga, mo e lea, mo e kakai kehe kotoa pē” (ʻAlamā 9:20). ʻOku ʻomi ʻe he ngaahi tāpuaki maʻongoʻongá, e ngaahi fatongia lahi.

Ne ako ʻaki ʻe Sisitā Seli L. Tiu, ko ha tokoni ʻi he kau palesitenisī lahi ʻo e Fineʻofá ʻo pehē: “‘He ko ia ʻoku foaki ki ai ʻa e meʻa lahí ʻoku ʻekeʻi ʻa e meʻa lahi meiate ia’ (T&F 82:3), pea ʻi he taimi ʻe niʻihi ʻoku fuʻu lahi ʻa e ngaahi fie maʻu ki he tuʻunga fakaākongá. Ka ʻoku tau ʻamanaki nai he ʻikai taʻefakangāueʻi lahi kitautolu ʻe he fononga ko ia ki he nāunau taʻengatá? ʻOku tau faʻa kumi ʻuhinga he taimi ʻe niʻihi ʻi heʻetau femoʻuekina ʻi he māmaní pea mo ʻetau feinga ke tupulaki fakalaumālié ʻaki haʻatau feinga ke fefakafiemālieʻaki ʻa e fakakaukau ko ia ʻoku ʻikai totonu ke fuʻu fie maʻu lahi pehē hono moʻui ʻaki ʻo e ongoongoleleí.

  • ʻi he hoko ʻa Līhai ko e hako ʻo Manasé, ko e konga pē ia hono fakahoko ʻo e talaʻofa naʻe fai kia Siosefa ʻo e kuonga muʻá. Naʻe fakahā ʻe Siosefa ʻo ʻIsipité e fakapapau ʻa e ʻEikí naʻá Ne fai kiate ia fekauʻaki mo hono hakó kimuʻa siʻi peá ne mālōloó:

“Pea kuó u maʻu ha talaʻofa mei he ʻEikí, ʻe … fokotuʻu hake ʻe he ʻEiki ko e ʻOtuá ha vaʻa māʻoniʻoni mei he fua ʻo hoku manavá. …

“Pea ʻe hoko ʻo pehē ʻe toe fakamoveteveteʻi ʻa kinautolu; pea ʻe motuhi atu ha vaʻa, pea ʻe ʻave ia ki ha fonua mamaʻo; ka neongo iá ʻe manatuʻi ʻa kinautolu ʻi he ngaahi fuakava ʻa e ʻEikí, ʻi he hāʻele mai ʻa e Mīsaiá. …

“Pea naʻe folofola pehē ʻa e ʻEiki ko e ʻOtuá kiate au. …

    Malanga ʻa Līhaí

“Ko ia, ʻe tohi ʻe he fua ʻo ho manavá, pea ʻe tohi ʻe he fua ʻo e manava ʻo Siutá; pea ko e meʻa ʻa ia ʻe tohi ʻe he fua ʻo ho manavá, pea mo ia ʻa ia ʻe tohi ʻe he fua ʻo e manava ʻo Siutá, ʻe tupu fakataha hake ia ki hono veuveuki ʻo e ngaahi tokāteline halá, pea fakangatangata ʻa e ngaahi fakakikihí, pea fokotuʻu ʻa e melinó ʻi he fua ʻo ho manavá, pea fakahā kiate kinautolu ʻa e ʻilo ki heʻenau ngaahi tamaí ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho fakaʻosí; kae ʻumaʻā foki mo e ʻilo ki heʻeku ngaahi fuakavá, ʻoku folofola ʻe he ʻEikí” (LSS, Sēnesi 50:24–25, 27, 31; vakai foki, 2 Nīfai 3:5, 12).

  • Kimuʻa pea hola ʻa Līhai mo ʻIsimeli, ko e ongo hako ʻo Siosefa ki he toafá, ne nofo mo hona fāmilí ʻi Selusalema, ʻa ia ko ha konga ʻo e puleʻanga ʻo Siutá. Ne fokotuʻu mai ʻe ha taha faʻu tohi e ʻuhinga naʻe nofo ai ʻi Selusalema e hako ʻo Līhaí, neongo ko e hako meia Siosefa, ʻa ia ko hono konga lahi ko e tukufakaholo ʻo Siuta: “Naʻe fifili ha fānau ako ʻe niʻihi ke nau ako ʻa e Tohi ʻa Molomoná pe naʻe anga fēfē e kei nofo ʻa e hako ʻo Siosefá ʻi Selusalema ʻi he taʻu 600 K.M. ʻi he taimi naʻe puke pōpula ai e hako ʻo ʻIfalemi mo Manasé ʻe he kau ʻAsiliá fakafuofua ki he taʻu 721 K.M. ʻOku kiʻi tokoni mai e 2 Fakamatala Meʻa Hokohokó ki he palopalemá ni. ʻOku pehē ʻi he fakamatala ko ʻení, fakafuofua nai ki he 941 K.M. naʻe tānaki fakataha ai ki Selusalema ʻe ʻAsa, ko e tuʻi ʻo e fonuá, ʻa e kakai ʻo Siutá mo Penisimaní ‘fakataha mo e kau muli meia ʻIfalemi mo Manasé.’ (2 Fakamatala Meʻa Hokohoko 15:9.) Ko e ‘kau muli ko ʻení … meia ʻIfalemi mo Manase’ ʻa ia naʻe tānaki ki Selusalema fakafuofua ki he 941 K.M. ne ala kau ai e ngaahi kui ʻa Līhai mo ʻIsimelí” (Daniel H. Ludlow, A Companion to Your Study of the Book of Mormon [1976], 199).

ʻAlamā 10:22–23. “Ko e Lotu ʻa e Māʻoniʻoní”

  • Fakatokangaʻi ange ʻa e ola ʻo e lotu ʻa e māʻoniʻoní ki ha puleʻanga. Ko e lotu ʻa e māʻoniʻoní naʻá ne fakahaofi ʻa e kau Nīfaí mei hono fakaʻauha lolotonga e ngaahi ʻaho ʻo e ʻEikitau ko Molonaí mo Samuela ko e tangata Leimaná (vakai, ʻAlamā 62:40; Hilamani 13:12–14).

Ne lea ʻaki ʻe Palesiteni Sipenisā W. Kimipolo (1895–1985) e ngaahi meʻá ni fekauʻaki mo e lotu ʻoku fakahoko ʻi hotau ngaahi ʻaho ní: “ ‘Oku tokolahi ‘aupito ha niʻihi ʻoku moʻui angatonu mo faitotonu ʻa ia ʻoku nau moʻui ʻaki e kotoa e ngaahi fekaú pea ʻoku fakahaofi e māmaní mei he fakaʻauhá ʻe heʻenau moʻuí mo ʻenau ngaahi lotú” (ʻi he Conference Report, Apr. 1971, 7; pe Ensign, June 1971, 16). ʻI he taimi pē ne fakaʻauha pe mole ai e kau māʻoniʻoní mei ʻAmonaihaá, ne mole ai pē mo e lotu ʻa e māʻoniʻoní ki hono maluʻi ʻo e koló pea naʻe “fakaʻauha ʻa e kakai moʻui kātoa ʻo e kau ʻAmonaihaá” (ʻAlamā 16:9).

ʻAlamā 11:22. “ ʻOniti Siliva ʻe Ono”

  • Ko e ʻonití ko e paʻanga mahuʻinga taha ia ʻi he nofo ʻa e kau Nīfaí. Ko e ʻoniti siliva ʻe onó ʻoku tatau ia mo ha vāhenga ʻo ha fakamaau ʻi he sosaieti ʻo e kakai ʻo ʻAmonaihaá ʻi he ʻaho ʻe 42 (vakai, ʻAlamā 11:3, 11–13).

ʻAlamā 11:40. Ko Hai Nai ʻOku ʻAonga Ki Ai e Fakaleleí?

  • ʻOku faʻa ʻi ai e fetaʻemahinoʻaki ʻi he ʻAlamā 11:40—ne faʻa fakakaukau ha niʻihi ne akonaki ʻa ʻAmuleki ko e mamahi ʻa Kalaisí maʻanautolu pē ʻoku tui mo fakatomalá. ʻOku ʻikai ke tonu ʻeni. ʻOku talamai ʻe he folofolá kiate kitautolu ne fuesia ʻe he Fakamoʻuí e “ngaahi mamahi ʻa e kakai kotoa pē, ʻio, ʻa e ngaahi mamahi ʻa e kakai moʻui kotoa pē, ʻa e kakai tangata, mo e kakai fefine fakatouʻosi, pea mo e fānau” (2 Nīfai 9:21; vakai foki, Mōsaia 4:7). Kae kehe, kapau he ʻikai fakatomala e faʻahinga ʻo e tangatá, ʻoku fakahā mai ʻe he Fakamoʻuí “ ʻe ʻikai fakamaʻa ʻa kinautolu ʻe hoku totó” (T&F 29:17). ʻOku hā mahino mai e feinga ʻa ʻAmuleki ke akoʻi ʻe ʻikai ʻaonga e Fakaleleí kapau ʻe ʻikai fakatomala e angahalá—naʻe ʻikai mamahi pē ʻa e Fakamoʻuí maʻanautolu ʻe fakatomalá.

ʻAlamā 11:41–45. Toetuʻú

  • Ko e Kalaisi kuo toe tuʻúKo e Toetuʻú ʻi hono fakaʻuhinga ʻe he Bible Dictionary “ko e fakataha ia ʻa e sino fakalaumālié pea mo e sino fakakakanó mo e ngaahi huí, ʻo ʻikai ke toe fakamavahevaheʻi” (“Resurrection,” 761; vakai foki, Fakahinohino ki he Ngaahi Folofolá, “Toetuʻú”). ʻOku ʻuhingamālie ange e moʻui fakamatelié ʻi he ʻilo ki he Toetuʻú.

Ne fakamatala ʻa ʻEletā Tāleni H. ʻOakesi ʻo e Kōlomu ʻo e Kau ʻAposetolo ʻe Toko Hongofula Mā Uá ki he “ ʻamanaki longomoʻui” mo e lelei ʻoku maʻu ʻe kinautolu fakafoʻituitui ʻoku tui mo falala ki he moʻoni toputapú ni ʻi he ʻaho takitaha ʻo ʻenau moʻuí:
