Naʻe pehē ʻe Palesiteni ʻEselā Tafu Penisoni, “Kuo fakamahuʻingaʻi ʻi heʻeku moʻuí kotoa ʻa e faleʻi ke fakafalala ki he lotú, ʻo meimei ke laka ange ʻi ha toe faleʻi kuó u maʻu.” “Kuo hoko ia ko haku konga mahuʻinga, ko ha taula, ko ha maʻuʻanga ivi maʻu pē, pea mo e fakavaʻe ki heʻeku ʻilo ʻo e ngaahi meʻa fakalangí.

Ko e faleʻi angamaheni ʻa ʻeku tamaí kiate au heʻeku kei siʻí, “ʻManatuʻi ko e hā pē ha meʻa ʻokú ke fai pe ko e fē ha feituʻu ʻokú ke ʻi ai, ʻoku ʻikai ke ke teitei tuēnoa.ʻ ʻʻOku takaofi maʻu pē ʻa ʻetau Tamai Hēvaní. Te ke lava ʻo ala atu ʻo maʻu ʻa ʻEne tokoní ʻo fou ʻi he lotú.ʻ Kuó u ʻilo ʻoku moʻoni ʻa e faleʻi ko ʻení. Naʻe muimui ʻa Palesiteni Penisoni ki he faleʻi ko ʻení ʻi he tapa kotoa ʻo ʻene moʻuí. Ko e taimi naʻe fokotuʻu ai ia ke ngāue ko e sekelitali ʻo e ʻIunaiteti Siteití he ngoué, naʻá ne fili ʻi he “faʻa lotu mo fakapotopoto” ha kulupu ʻo ha kau tangata ke ngāue mo ia, “mo kole ki he ʻOtuá ke foaki ange [ki ai] ha laumālie ʻo e faʻa ʻiloʻilo.”2 Naʻá ne fehuʻi ʻi heʻenau ʻuluaki fakatahá “pe ʻoku ʻi ai ha taha ʻoku taʻe-loto ki hono fakaava ʻaki ʻenau ngaahi fakatahá ha lotú. Naʻe ʻikai ha taha ʻe taʻe-loto. Pea ko ia naʻe kamata ai ha founga ngāue naʻá ne fakahoko ʻi ha taʻu ʻe valu. Naʻá ne fakaafeʻi ʻa e kau mēmipa takitaha ʻo e kau ngāué ke nau taufetongi ʻi hono fai e fua lotú.”3 Ne aʻu ʻo fakahoungaʻi ʻe hono kaungā ngāué ʻa e meʻá ni, neongo, mahalo naʻe ʻikai ke nau ongoʻi fēfē fekauʻaki mo ia ʻi he kamataʻangá. Naʻe toe ʻaonga foki ki he kaungā ngāue ʻo Palesiteni Penisoni ʻi he Kau Palesitenisī ʻUluakí mo e Kōlomu ʻo e Kau ʻAposetolo ʻe Toko Hongofulu Mā Uá hono natula faʻa lotú. Naʻe pehē ʻe Palesiteni Kōtoni B. Hingikelī, ʻa ia naʻe hoko ko e Tokoni ʻUluaki ʻo Palesiteni Penisoni ʻi he Kau Palesitenisī ʻUluakí:

“Kuó u ʻosi tūʻulutui fakataha mo ia mo fanongo ki heʻene lotú.

“Naʻe mālie maʻu pē ʻa ʻene ngaahi lotú. Naʻe hāhāmolofia ha meʻa kehe, ko honau konga lahi tahá ko e fakahaaʻi ʻo e fakamālō. Naʻe siʻi haʻane kole. Naʻá ne fakahaaʻi lahi ʻene houngaʻiá.

“Naʻá ne fakamālōʻia e ʻEikí koʻeuhí ko e moʻuí, hono fāmilí, ongoongoleleí, tuí, ʻi he ulo ʻa e laʻaá mo e ʻuhá, ʻa e mahu ʻo natulá, pea mo e ngaahi ongoʻi ʻofa tauʻatāina ʻo e tangatá. Naʻá ne fakamālōʻia e ʻEikí ʻi he ngaahi kaungāmeʻá mo e kaungā-ngāué. Naʻá ne fakahaaʻi ha ʻofa ki he Fakamoʻuí mo ha houngaʻia Heʻene feilaulau fakaleleí. Naʻá ne fakamālōʻia e ʻEikí ʻi he faingamālie ke tokoni ai ki he kakaí.”5

Naʻe fokotuʻu ʻe Palesiteni Penisoni mo hono uaifi ko Fololá ha ʻapi naʻe lotu fakafoʻituitui mo fakataha ai ʻa e taha kotoa. Naʻe pehē ʻe heʻena tamasiʻi ko Maʻaké: “Ko e taimi naʻe tūʻulutui ai e Tangataʻeikí ke lotú, naʻe ʻikai ke ne fakavavevaveʻi ʻa e ngaahi meʻá. Naʻe ʻi ai hano ʻuhinga ʻo ʻene ngaahi leá. Naʻe ongo leʻo lahi mo mahino ko ʻene fetuʻutaki mo ʻetau Tamai ʻi he langí.”6 Naʻe akoʻi ʻe Palesiteni mo Sisitā Penisoni ʻena fānaú ke lotua ha fakahinohino mo ha ivi fakatāutaha pea mo nau toe felotuaʻaki foki. Naʻe fakatokangaʻi ʻe ha kaungāmeʻa ʻo e fāmilí ʻa e ivi takiekina ʻo e ngaahi akonaki ko iá ʻi haʻane maʻu ha fakataha konifelenisi lahi mo e fāmili Penisoní. Naʻá ne tohi ʻo pehē:

“ʻI ha ʻaho ʻe taha ʻi ʻEpeleli…, naʻá ku ʻilo ai ha taha e maʻuʻanga ivi ʻo ha Taki Māʻolunga.

“Naʻá ku tangutu fakataha mo e fānau ʻe toko ono ʻa ʻEletā ʻEselā Tafu Penisoní, ko e taha ko hoku kaungā loki ʻi he kolisí. Naʻe fākalalahi ʻeku tokangá ʻi he taimi naʻe tuʻu ai ʻa Palesiteni [Tēvita O.] Makei ʻo fakahā ʻa e tokotaha lea hokó. “Naʻá ku fakakaukau, ʻi he hangē ʻoku ou ʻohovalé, ʻKo e kiʻi fekau ko ʻení ne paasi mai ia he ʻotú, pea ʻoku totonu ke u fakahoko atu ia. Te u pehē ange, “Lotua ʻa ʻEletā Penisoni”? Pe te u pehē, “ʻOku totonu ke ke fai ha lotu maʻa hoʻo tamaí”? ʻI heʻeku ongoʻi ʻa e fuʻu fie maʻu ke u fai ha meʻá, naʻá ku maleʻei atu leva ʻo kiʻi fafana nounou atu, ʻLotu Maʻa Teti.’

“Naʻá ku sio ki he hokohoko atu ʻo e fafaná ʻi he ʻotú ʻo aʻu ki he feituʻu naʻe tangutu ai ʻa Sisitā Penisoní, kuo ʻosi punou hono ʻulu ʻoʻona. …

“ʻI he fakalau atu ʻa e ngaahi taʻú, kuo hoko mo ʻosi atu ʻe ngaahi konifelenisi lahí, pea ko e taimi kotoa pē naʻe ʻai ke lea ai ʻa Palesiteni Penisoni, naʻá ku fakakaukau, ʻʻOku kau fakataha ʻene fānaú he taimí ni, ʻa ia ʻoku nau movete ʻi he konitinēnití, ʻi he lotua ʻenau tangataʻeikí.ʻ”7

Kuo akoʻi ʻe Sīsū Kalaisi ʻoku totonu ke tau lotu fai maʻu ai pē.

Naʻe akoʻi kitautolu ʻe Sīsū ʻi he lolotonga ʻo ʻEne ngāue ʻi he māmaní ki he founga ʻo e lotú:

“Ko ia ke peheni hoʻomou lotú: Ko ʻemau Tamai ʻoku ʻi he langi, Ke tāpuhā ho huafá.

“Ke hoko mai hoʻo pulé. Ke fai ho finangaló ʻi māmani, ʻo hangē ʻi he langí.

“Ke foaki mai he ʻahó ni haʻamau meʻakai.

“Pea fakamolemole ʻemau angahalá, ʻo hangē ko ʻemau fakamolemolea ʻa kinautolu kuo fai angahala kiate kimautolú.

“Pea ʻoua naʻa tuku ʻa kimautolu ki he ʻahiʻahí, kae fakamoʻui ʻa kimautolu mei he koví: He ʻoku ʻoʻou ʻa e pulé, mo e mālohí, mo e nāunaú, ʻo taʻengata. ʻĒmeni.” (Mātiu 6:9–13.)

Naʻá ne toe fakahinohinoʻi, “ʻOku lelei ke lotu maʻu ai pē ʻa e kakaí, pea ʻoua naʻa fiu.” (Luke 18:1.)

Naʻá ne folofola, “Leʻo mo lotu, telia naʻa lavaʻi ʻa kimoutolu ʻe he ʻahiʻahí.” (Mātiu 26:41.)

Naʻá ne naʻinaʻi ʻi he kuonga fakakosipelí ni, “Lotu maʻu ai pē telia naʻa maʻu ʻe he tokotaha angakoví na ʻa e mālohi kiate kimoutolu, pea toʻo atu ʻa kimoutolu mei homou tuʻungá.” (T&F 93:49.)

Naʻe folofola ʻa e Fakamoʻuí kia Siosefa Sāmita, “Pea ʻoku ʻikai ha meʻa ʻoku fakatupu houhau ai ʻa e tangatá ki he ʻOtuá, pe ʻoku ʻikai ha taha kuo tupu hono houhaú ki ai, ka ko kinautolu ʻoku ʻikai ke fakamoʻoniʻi ʻa e kau mai hono toʻukupú ʻi he meʻa kotoa pē, pea ʻoku ʻikai ke talangofua ki heʻene ngaahi fekaú.” T&F 59:21.)

ʻOku tau maʻu ʻa e fakahinohino ko ʻení mei hotau ʻEiki kuo toetuʻú ʻi Heʻene ngāue ʻi he lotolotonga ʻo e kau Nīfaí ʻi he Hemisifia Hihifó: “Kuo pau ke mou leʻo mo lotu maʻu ai pē, telia naʻa ʻahiʻahiʻi ʻa kimoutolu ʻe he tēvoló, peá ne taki pōpula atu ʻa kimoutolu. …

“Kuo pau ke mou leʻo mo lotu maʻu ai pē telia naʻa mou tō ki he ʻahiʻahí; he ʻoku holi ʻa Sētane ke maʻu ʻa kimoutolu, koeʻuhí ke ne siviʻi ʻa kimoutolu ʻo hangē ko e uité.

“Ko ia kuo pau ke mou lotu maʻu ai pē ki he Tamaí ʻi hoku hingoá;

“Pea ʻilonga ha meʻa te mou kole ki he Tamaí ʻi hoku hingoá, ʻa ia ʻoku totonu, ʻo tui te mou maʻú, vakai ʻe foaki ia kiate kimoutolu.” (3 Nīfai 18:15, 18–20.)8

Kapau ʻoku tau fie fakalakalaka ʻi he māʻoniʻoní—-tupulaki ʻi he ʻofeina ʻe he ʻOtuá—he ʻikai ha meʻa te ne lava ʻo fetongi ʻa e lotú. Pea ko ia ʻoku ou fakalotolahiʻi ai kimoutolu ke mou fokotuʻu ʻa e lotú—ʻa e lotu fakaʻahó—lotu liló—ke muʻomuʻa taha ʻi hoʻomou moʻuí. ʻOua naʻa tuku ha ʻaho ke ʻalu taʻe-fakahoko ia. Kuo hoko ʻa e fetuʻutaki mo e Fungani Māfimafí ko ha maʻuʻanga ivi, maʻuʻanga tataki fakalaumālie, mo e fakamaama ki he kakai tangata mo fafine ʻi he hisitōlia ʻo e māmaní, kuo nau foʻu ʻa e ngaahi ikuʻanga ʻo e fakafoʻituituí mo e ngaahi puleʻangá ke leleí.9

ʻOku tāpuekina e ngaahi fāmili ʻoku lotu fakatahá ʻaki ha ngaahi haʻi ʻo e ʻofa mo e nonga ʻo e langí.

ʻOku fakamahino ʻe he ʻEikí ko e fatongia ʻo e mātuʻá ke akoʻi ʻenau fānaú ke lotu [vakai, T&F 68:28]. ʻOku ʻikai ʻuhinga ʻeni ia ki he ngaahi lotu liló pē. ʻOku ou tui pau ʻoku ʻuhinga ia ke akoʻi ʻi he tā-sīpinga ʻi he ngaahi lotu fakafāmilí. ʻOku tau fie maʻu ʻa e ivi fakamāʻoniʻoniʻi ko ē ʻoku maʻu mei he moʻui līʻoa ʻi he ʻapí —mo e lotu ko e fāmilí.10

ʻOku fie maʻu ke tau tūʻulutui ko e fāmili ʻi he lotu fakafāmili, ʻi he efiafí mo e pongipongí. ʻOku ʻikai feʻunga ʻa e tānaki atu pē ha ngaahi foʻi lea siʻi ki he tāpuakiʻi ʻo e meʻatokoní, ʻa ē kuo fakaʻau ke angaʻaki ʻi ha ngaahi feituʻú. ʻOku fie maʻu ke tau tūʻulutui ʻi hotau tuí ʻi he lotu mo e fakafetaʻi.11

Kuo hoko ʻa e lotú pea ʻoku hoko maʻu ai pē ko e taula mo e maʻuʻanga fakahinohino ʻi he ngaahi ʻekitivitī ʻa hotau fāmilí. ʻOku ou manatuʻi ʻeku tūʻulutui ʻi he veʻe mohenga ʻema fānau īkí, ʻo tokoni ʻi heʻenau ngaahi lotú ʻi heʻenau kei īkí, peá u fakatokangaʻi kimui ange ʻa e tokoni ʻa e fānau tangata mo fafine lalahi angé ki he fānau iiki angé. Naʻa mau lotu fakafāmili fakataha mo e fānaú, ʻi he pō mo e pongipongi kotoa, ʻo ʻoange ʻa e faingamālie ke nau lotu, pea mo ha ngaahi lotu makehe ke feau ha ngaahi palopalema pau. Hangē ko ʻení, naʻe fai ha fakamatala ʻi he lotu fakafāmilí, ki he fānau ʻoku ʻi ai honau fatongia he [Siasí]. … Naʻa mau kole ha tokoni ʻi he taimi naʻe fehangahangai ai ha taha ʻo e fānaú mo ha sivi faingataʻa ʻi he ako māʻolungá. “ʻOku tau fie maʻu ʻa e ivi fakamāʻoniʻoniʻi ko ē ʻoku maʻu mei he … lotu ko e fāmilí.”

Naʻe mōlia atu ʻa e ngaahi faikehekehe mo e ngaahi taʻe-fiemālie ʻo e ʻahó ʻi he hanga fakataha atu ʻa e fāmilí ki he taloni ʻo e langí. Tupulekina ʻa e uouangatahá. ʻOku toe fakamālohia ʻa e ngaahi haʻi ʻo e ʻofá mo e ongoʻi ʻofá pea hū mai ʻa e nonga ʻa e langí.

ʻOku fakahoko ʻi he ngaahi ʻapi peheé ha ngaahi lotu lilo ʻi he poʻulí mo e pongipongí kotoa ʻe he kau mēmipa ʻo e fāmilí. ʻOku fakaleleiʻi ʻa e ngaahi palopalema fakafoʻituitui mo fakafāmilí ʻi he loto falala ʻi he hili hono kolea e tokoni ʻa e langí. Ko e toʻu kei talavou ʻoku nau kau ʻi he faʻahinga fakataha lotu fakafāmili peheé ʻoku fakatauʻatāinaʻi honau lotó mei he fakakaukau koví ʻi heʻenau mavahe ki ha fakafiefia he efiafí. ʻE hoko ʻa e [kakai kei talavoú ni] ko e ivi taʻotaʻofi ʻi he kulupú ʻi he taimi ʻoku hoko ai ha ʻahiʻahi ʻoku matamata-leleí. Te tau lava ʻo fakaleleiʻi ʻetau fetuʻutaki mo ʻetau Tamai Hēvaní.

Ko ha founga ʻeni ʻe nima ke fakaleleiʻi ʻaki ʻetau fetuʻutaki mo ʻetau Tamai Hēvaní:

1. ʻOku totonu ke tau faʻa lotu. ʻOku totonu ke tau toko taha pē mo ʻetau Tamai Hēvaní ʻo tuʻo ua pe tolu pe lahi ange he ʻaho—“pongipongi, hoʻātā, mo e efiafi,” kotoa ʻo hangē ko e lau ʻa e folofolá. ʻAlamā 34:21 ʻIkai ngata aí, ʻoku fakahā mai ke tau lotu maʻu ai pē. (Vakai, 2 Nīfai 32:9; T&F 88:126.) ʻOku ʻuhinga ʻeni ʻoku totonu ke fonu hotau lotó, ʻo lotu ki heʻetau Tamai Hēvaní. Vakai, ʻAlamā 34:27

2. ʻOku totonu ke tau kumi ha feituʻu taau te tau lava ʻo fakalaulauloto mo lotu ai. ʻOku mau naʻinaʻi atu ʻoku totonu ke hoko ʻeni “ʻi [hotau] ngaahi loki liló, pea mo [hotau] ngaahi potu liló, pea ʻi [hotau] ngaahi feituʻu maomaonganoá.” (ʻAlamā 34:26) ʻA ia, ʻoku totonu ke hao mei he fakahohaʻasí, pea lilo. (Vakai, 3 Nīfai 13:5–6.)

3. ʻOku totonu ke tau teuteuʻi kitautolu ke lotu. Kapau ʻoku ʻikai ke tau ongoʻi fie lotu, pea ta ʻoku totonu ke tau lotu kae ʻoua kuo tau ongoʻi fie lotu. ʻOku totonu ke tau loto fakatōkilalo. (Vakai, T&F 112:10.) ʻOku totonu ke tau lotua ha fakamolemole mo e ʻaloʻofa. (Vakai, ʻAlamā 34:17–18.) Kuo pau ke tau fakamolemoleʻi ha taha pē ʻoku tau maʻu ha loto kovi ki ai. (Vakai, Maʻake 11:25.) Ka ʻoku fakatokanga ʻa e folofolá ʻe taʻe-ʻaonga ʻetau lotú kapau te tau “tekeʻi ʻa e masivá, mo e telefuá, ʻo ʻikai ʻaʻahi ki he mahakí mo e faingataʻaʻiá, pea [ʻikai] foaki mei [heʻetau] koloá.” (ʻAlamā 34:28.)

4. Ko e ʻetau ngaahi lotú ʻoku totonu ke ʻuhingamālie mo mahuʻinga. ʻOku totonu ke tau fakaʻehiʻehi mei hono fakaʻaongaʻi ʻo e ngaahi kupuʻi lea tatau ʻi he lotú kotoa. ʻE ʻita hatau taha kapau ʻe toutou lea ʻaki mai ʻe hatau kaungāmeʻa ha ngaahi foʻi lea tatau he ʻaho kotoa pē, mo ʻai ʻa e fepōtalanoaʻakí ke hangē ha ngāue lahí, mo ʻikai faʻa tatali ke ʻosi kae lava ʻo fakamoʻui ʻa e televīsoné mo ngalo kitautolu. …

He ko e hā ʻoku totonu ai ke tau lotú? ʻOku totonu ke tau lotua ʻetau ngāué, ke fakafepakiʻi ʻa e mālohi hotau ngaahi filí pea mo e tēvoló, ʻa hotau tuʻunga leleí pea mo e tuʻunga lelei ʻo kinautolu ʻoku tau feohí. ʻOku totonu ke tau talanoa mo e ʻEikí fekauʻaki mo ʻetau ngaahi filí mo e ngaahi ʻekitivitií kotoa.
