How Youth Can Share the Gospel

Mormon taught, “That which is of God inviteth and enticeth to do good continually” (Moroni 7:13). If you have a thought to do or say something good, act on it!

Ways Youth Can Share the Gospel

• Listen to someone when they are having a bad day.

• Be quick to serve others.

• Stand up for what is right.

• Ask Heavenly Father to help you share the gospel.

• Share a post from a Church social media account.

• Share the youth music.

• When friends ask about your weekend, talk about going to church or participating in Church activities.

• Invite a friend to a For the Strength of Youth (FSY) conference.

• Include someone new in your friend group.

• Invite a friend to seminary or to a youth activity.

Prophetic Counsel

Pray for help to see people how God sees them and to have courage to talk to them about Jesus Christ and His gospel. Trust that He will help you know how to help your friends hear Him and feel His love. “As guided by the Spirit, … invite people to make commitments that will help them grow spiritually and feel the influence of the Holy Ghost in their lives” (Preach My Gospel: A Guide to Sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ [2023], 202). As you do so, you will discover that loving, sharing, and inviting brings joy into your life and helps you prepare to serve a full-time mission.

Trust that Heavenly Father will guide and strengthen you. You will be able to echo the words of Alma: “This is my glory, that perhaps I may be an instrument in the hands of God to bring some soul to repentance; and this is my joy” (Alma 29:9; emphasis added).

You can testify “that His gospel is the only enduring solution for peace. His gospel is a gospel of peace.” You have special gifts and abilities to share the gospel—both now and in the future as a full-time missionary. “You are each vital to the Lord. He has held you in reserve until now to help gather Israel. Your decision to serve a mission, whether a proselyting or a service mission, will bless you and many others” (Russell M. Nelson, “Preaching the Gospel of Peace,” Liahona, May 2022, 6).
