How Young Adults Can Share the Gospel

Your efforts to love, share, and invite will help others come to Christ and have “greater happiness, hope, peace, and purpose” (Preach My Gospel: A Guide to Sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ [2023], 2).

Ways Young Adults Can Share the Gospel

  • Don’t judge other people; just love them.

  • Forgive someone or apologize to someone you have hurt.

  • Be quick to serve others.

  • Explain how your faith makes your life better. Ask others about their faith.

  • Share a post from a Church social media account.

  • When friends ask about your weekend, talk about going to church and Church activities.

  • Create a scripture study group, and invite someone from another faith.

  • Invite a friend to a Church activity or a casual gathering.

  • Invite a friend to an institute class or activity.

  • Invite a friend to a young adult conference or to church.

  • Invite a friend to a young adult gathering place.

Prophetic Counsel

Pray consistently for opportunities to share the gospel, and trust that Heavenly Father will help you know what your family, friends, and others are ready to receive.

As you share invitations, you can help others be transformed by Jesus Christ’s Atonement. You can help them begin to see “through the perspective of our Heavenly Father’s plan” (Neil L. Andersen, “Becoming a Covenant Person among a Covenant People,” Liahona, Feb. 2022, 11) and receive all the blessings that come from making and keeping covenants. Regardless of the outcome, you will feel a greater measure of Christ’s love in your life, and He will bless you with greater courage and desire to share.

President Nelson has encouraged: “[You] have the sacred responsibility to share the power and peace of Jesus Christ with all who will listen and who will let God prevail in their lives. … You are each vital to the Lord” (“Preaching the Gospel of Peace,” Liahona, May 2022, 6). Share the gospel in your daily life. If you haven’t chosen to serve a full-time teaching or service mission, consider doing so now.
