Which means eating enough is important!

Protein is an essential part of our body. It’s in our organs, bones, skin, hair, and more! It helps us:

  • Build muscles.
  • Repair tissue.
  • Fight infection.
  • Carry oxygen in our blood.

You’ve probably heard that the easiest way to get protein is by eating meat. However, there are other ways to get protein too. Here are other protein-rich foods:

  1. Beans
  2. Peas
  3. Quinoa
  4. Eggs
  5. Nuts and nut butters

Experts recommend teens should eat about six ounces of protein a day. An ounce equals about one egg, one tablespoon of peanut butter, or 1/4 cup cooked beans.
