Lots of scriptures talk about hearts. For example, we know the Spirit speaks in “fleshy tables of the heart” (2 Cor. 3:3).
How can you tell if your heart is in the right place? Ask yourself:
- Am I honest in heart? Honest-hearted people keep promises and tell the truth. They don’t have hidden agendas, deceive others, or misrepresent facts.
- Do I have a willing heart? A willing heart describes someone who makes God a priority. They serve Him on His terms, not their own. They go and do whatever is needed.
- Is my heart understanding and loving? We come closest to becoming like Jesus Christ when we are charitable. We approach godliness when we find joy in compassionately lifting others.
So … how is your heart? As you sincerely work on the attributes above, you invite a mighty change of heart that will help you become ready to meet God (see Alma 5:26). What a wonderful day that will be!
