Ko e Malanga ʻa Sione Papitaiso ʻi he Toafá, tā ʻe Robert T. Barrett

He ʻikai ke ke hangē ko Sione Papitaisó ʻo ngāue fakafaifekau ʻi he “toafa ʻo Siuteá” (Mātiu 3:1). He ʻikai tuitui ho valá ʻaki ha “fulufuluʻi kāmeli” (Mātiu 3:4). He ʻikai ke ke kai ʻa e “heʻé mo e [hone] ʻo e vaó” (Mātiu 3:4). Ka ko hoʻo taumuʻa ke vahevahe ʻa e ongoongoleleí ʻoku tatau mo Sione Papitaiso: ke teuteuʻi ʻa e kakaí ki he hāʻele mai ʻa Sīsuú ʻaki hono fakahā, “Mou fakatomala: he ʻoku ofi ʻa e puleʻanga ʻo e langí” (Mātiu 3:2).

Naʻe mahino ʻa e misiona ʻo Sione Papitaisó: ke “haʻu kimuʻa ʻi he Mīsaiá, ke teuteu ʻa e hāʻeleʻanga ʻo e ʻEikí” (1 Nīfai 10:7). Ka naʻe ʻikai ke faingofua hono misioná. Ko e palōfita fakamuimui taha ki muʻa aí ko Malakai, ʻi ha taʻu ʻe 400 kimuʻa. “Naʻe kamata ke vahevahe ʻa e kakai ʻi he fonuá ki ha ngaahi faʻahi mo e ngaahi kulupu, ʻi he ʻikai ha palōfitá, ʻo takitaha fakamatala ʻene totonu ke fakaʻuhingaʻi e folofolá mo tataki e kakaí. Naʻe hōloa e mahino moʻoni naʻe maʻu ʻe he ngaahi kulupu ko ʻení kau kia Sihová.”1

Neongo ʻa e ngaahi faingataʻa ʻi he kuonga ʻo Sioné, ka naʻe haʻu ha kakai tokolahi ki he toafá ke fanongo ki heʻene malangá, pea naʻá ne papitaiso ha tokolahi. ʻOku faingataʻa tatau pē hono vahevahe ʻo e ongoongoleleí he ʻaho ní. Kuo ʻomi ʻe he moʻui fakaonopōní ha ngaahi fakahala lahi. ʻOku takihalaʻi ʻe he ngaahi fakakaukau fakapoto fakamāmaní ʻa e kakaí. ʻOku fakaʻau ke tokolahi ange ʻa e kakai ʻoku ʻikai ke nau moʻui fakatatau mo e ngaahi tuʻunga moʻui fakaeangamaʻa māʻolungá. ʻOku pehē ʻe ha niʻihi ia ʻoku ʻikai ke fie maʻu ʻa e tui fakalotú.

ʻE ola lelei fēfē hoʻo vahevahe ʻa e ongoongoleleí, ʻo hangē ko ia naʻe fai ʻe Sione Papitaisó, ʻi he ngaahi tūkunga ko ʻení? Ko ha ngaahi founga siʻi pē ʻeni mei heʻene moʻuí ʻe lava ʻo tokoni.

Naʻe ʻiloʻi ʻe Sione hono misioná. Naʻá ne ʻiloʻi naʻe ui ia ke tokoniʻi ʻa e kakaí ke nau haʻu kia Kalaisi (vakai, Luke 1:16). Naʻe fakamoʻoni ʻa Sione, ʻi he taimi naʻe mamata ai ki he Fakamoʻuí, “Vakai ki he Lami ʻa e ʻOtuá, ʻa ia ʻokú ne ʻave ʻa e angahala ʻa māmaní” (Sione 1:29).

ʻE lava ke fakamatalaʻi ʻene ngaahi akonakí hangē ko e Fakamoʻuí: “[Naʻa] nau ofo ʻi heʻene akonakí: he naʻá ne akonakiʻi ʻa kinautolu ʻo taau mo ia ʻoku [ne maʻu ʻa e mafaí]” (Maʻake 1:22).

Naʻe kehe e moʻui ʻa Sioné mei he māmaní. Naʻe fakafaikehekeheʻi ʻe Sīsū ʻa Sione mei he kau faiako ʻo e māmaní: Ko Sioné naʻe ʻikai “ko ha tangata kuo kofu ʻaki ʻa e kofu molū … [pe] kofu fakalaukau … ʻi he fale ʻo e ngaahi tuʻí” (Luke 7:25). Naʻe “ʻikai te ne inu ʻa e uainé pe ha inu fakakona” (Luke 1:15). Ko Sioné “ko e leʻo ʻo e tokotaha ʻoku kalanga ʻi he toafá, Mou teuteu ʻa e hala ʻo e ʻEikí” (Maʻake 1:3). Naʻe ongoʻi ʻe he kakaí ʻa e Laumālié pea nau ului, koeʻuhí he naʻá ne akonaki ʻaki e mālohi ʻo e ʻOtuá.

Naʻe faimateaki ʻa Sione. Naʻe fakamatalaʻi ʻe ha tokotaha poto ʻa e ngaahi ʻulungaanga lelei ʻo Sioné: “Ko e taha ʻo ʻene taumuʻá, ʻa ʻene līʻoa kakato ki hono uiuiʻi mahuʻingá, pea mo ʻene mateakiʻi kakato ʻa e ʻAlo ʻo e ʻOtuá. Naʻe ʻai ʻe he ngaahi angá ni, fakataha mo hono mafai fakataulaʻeiki fakalangí, lea taʻe-manavaheé, mo e māʻoniʻoni fakafoʻituituí ke hoko ko e taha ʻo e kakai maʻongoʻonga taha ʻo e folofolá.”2

Te ke ʻiloʻi ʻi hoʻo ako ʻa e moʻui ʻa Sione Papitaisó, naʻe mahulu hake ia ʻi he tuʻunga ko e taha naʻá ne maʻu ʻa e tāpuaki makehe ke ne lava ʻo papitaiso ʻa Sīsū Kalaisí. Te ke ʻiloʻi naʻe fekauʻaki ʻene moʻuí mo hono misioná mo e teuteuʻi ʻo e kakaí ki he hāʻele mai ʻa e Fakamoʻuí, ʻo tatau pē mo koe.
