ʻOku ʻikai māʻolunga ange e ʻofa ʻa e ʻOtuá ʻi Heʻene ngaahi fonó mo ʻEne ngaahi fekaú, pea ʻoku ʻikai ke hanga ʻe he ngaahi fono mo e ngaahi fekau ʻa e ʻOtuá ʻo holoki ʻa e taumuʻa mo e mālohi ʻo ʻEne ʻofá.

I.

Te u kamata ʻaki ha ngaahi sīpinga ʻe fā, ʻokú ne fakafōtunga ha ngaahi puputuʻu fakamatelie ʻi he ʻofá mo e fonó.

  • Ne talaange ʻe ha talavou nonofo-kovi ki heʻene mātuʻa loto mamahí, “Kapau ʻokú mo ʻofa moʻoni ʻiate au, te mo tali kimaua ʻo tatau pē mo hoʻomo tali hoʻomo fānau kuo malí.”

  • Naʻe tafihu ha taha taʻu hongofulu tupu ʻi he tuʻutuʻuni pe fekau ʻa e mātuʻá ʻo ne pehē, “Kapau ne mo ʻofa moʻoni ʻiate au, he ʻikai ke mo fakamālohiʻi au.”

ʻI he ongo sīpingá ni, ʻoku pehē ai ʻe ha taha naʻá ne maumauʻi e ngaahi fekaú ʻoku totonu ke māʻolunga ange ʻa e ʻofa ʻa e mātuʻá ʻi he ngaahi fekau ʻo e fono fakalangí pea mo e akonaki ʻa e mātuʻá.

ʻOku taʻe-tui ʻa e faʻahinga ko ʻení ki he ngaahi fono fakalangí ʻa ia ʻoku nau pehē ʻoku fehangahangai mo ʻenau tui ki he foʻi fakakaukau ʻo e ʻofa ʻa e ʻOtuá. II.

ʻUluakí, fakakaukau ki he ʻofa ʻa e ʻOtuá, ʻa ia kuo fakamatalaʻi mahuʻingamālie he pongipongí ni ʻe Palesiteni Tieta F. ʻUkitofá. Naʻe fehuʻi ʻe he ʻAposetolo ko Paulá, “Ko hai te ne fakamāvae ʻa kitautolu mei he ʻofa ʻa Kalaisí?” ʻOku ʻikai ko e mamahí, pe ko e fakatangá, pe ko e tuʻutāmakí pe ko e heletaá” (vakai, Loma 8:35). Naʻá ne fakaʻosi ʻo pehē, “He ʻoku ou ʻilo pau, ʻe ʻikai ʻi he maté, pe ʻi he moʻuí, pe ʻi he kau ʻāngeló, pe ʻi he kau pulé, pe ʻi he ngaahi mālohí, … pe ʻi ha meʻa kehe ʻe taha kuo ngaohi, ʻe ʻikai mafai ia ke fakamāvae ʻa kitautolu mei he ʻofa ʻa e ʻOtuá” (veesi 38–39).

ʻOku ʻikai ha fakamoʻoni lelei ange ki he mālohi taʻe fakangatangata pea mo e haohaoa ʻo e ʻofa ʻa e ʻOtuá ʻi he meʻa ne fakahā ʻe he ʻAposetolo ko Sioné: “He naʻe ʻofa pehē ʻa e ʻOtuá ki māmani, naʻá ne foaki hono ʻAlo pē taha naʻe fakatupú” (Sione 3:16). Ko e ʻofa ʻa e ʻOtuá ki Heʻene fānaú ko ha moʻoni taʻengata ia, ka ko e hā ʻoku ʻofa lahi pehē ai kiate kitautolú, pea ko e hā ʻoku tau fie maʻu ai ʻa e ʻofa ko iá? ʻOku maʻu ʻa e talí ʻi he fekauʻaki ʻa e ʻofa ʻa e ʻOtuá mo ʻEne ngaahi fonó.

ʻOku hangē ʻoku fakamahuʻingaʻi ʻe ha niʻihi e ʻofa ʻa e ʻOtuá koeʻuhí ko ʻenau ʻamanaki ʻoku lahi fau ʻEne ʻofá mo fai taʻe-tuʻungaʻa, pea te Ne ‘aloʻofa ʻe fakaʻatā ai kinautolu mei he talangofua ki Heʻene ngaahi fonó. ʻI he tafaʻaki ʻe tahá, ko kinautolu ʻoku mahino ki ai e palani ʻa e ʻOtuá maʻa ʻEne fānaú, ʻoku nau ʻiloʻi ko e ngaahi fono ʻa e ʻOtuá ʻoku taʻeliliua, pea ko e foʻi moʻoni ko ʻení ko ha fakamoʻoni lelei ia ʻe taha ʻo ʻEne ʻofa ki Heʻene fānaú. He ʻikai lava ke toʻo ʻe he ʻaloʻofá ʻa e fakamaau totonú,2 pea ko kinautolu ko ia ʻoku maʻu e ʻaloʻofá, ko kinautolu ia kuo nau “tauhi ʻa e fuakavá mo tauhi ʻa e fekaú” (T&F 54:6).

ʻOku tau toutou lau ʻi he Tohi Tapú pea ʻi he ngaahi folofola fakaonopōní ki he houhau ʻa e ʻOtuá ʻi he faiangahalá3 pea mo ʻEne tōʻonga ʻi Heʻene houhaú4 kiate kinautolu ʻoku maumauʻi ʻEne ngaahi fonó. ʻOku hoko fēfē ʻa e houhaú mo e tauteá ko ha fakamoʻoni ʻo ʻEne ʻofá? Naʻe akoʻi mai ʻe Siosefa Sāmita naʻe “fokotuʻu ʻe he ʻOtuá ʻa e ngaahi fonó ke lava [ʻe he ngaahi laumālie te Ne tuku mai ki he māmaní] ʻo maʻu ʻa e faingamālie ke nau fakalakalaka ʻo hangē pē ko Iá.”5 Ko e ʻofa ʻa e ʻOtuá ʻoku mātuʻaki haohaoa pea ko Hono finangaló ia ke tau talangofua ki Heʻene ngaahi fekaú koeʻuhí, he ʻokú Ne ʻafioʻi ko e talangofua pē ki Heʻene ngaahi fonó ʻa e founga ʻe lava ke tau hoko ai ʻo haohaoa tatau mo Iá. ʻI he ʻuhingá ni, ʻoku ʻikai hoko ai ʻa e tuputāmaki mo e houhau ʻa e ʻOtuá ko ha fehangahangai ʻo ʻEne ʻofá ka ko ha fakamoʻoni ʻo ʻEne ʻofá. ʻOku ʻiloʻi ʻe he mātuʻa kotoa pē te ke lava ʻo ʻofa moʻoni mo kakato ʻi ha kiʻi tamasiʻi lolotonga ia ʻokú ke fakapotoʻi hoʻo ʻita mo taʻe-fiemālie ʻi ha ʻulungāanga paongataʻa ʻo e kiʻi tamasiʻí.

Ko e ʻofa ʻa e ʻOtuá ʻoku kānokato moʻoni pea ʻoku hanga ai ʻe Heʻene palani haohaoá ʻo foaki mai ha ngaahi meʻaʻofa lahi ki Heʻene fānaú kotoa, ʻo aʻu kiate kinautolu ʻoku talangataʻa ki Heʻene ngaahi fonó. Ko e moʻui fakamatelié ko e taha ia ʻo e nagahi meʻaʻofá, ne foaki kiate kinautolu kotoa naʻe feʻunga ʻi he Tau ʻi he Langí.6 Ko ha meʻaʻofa taʻe-tuʻungaʻa ʻe taha ʻa e toetuʻu ʻa e taha kotoá, “He ʻoku hangē ʻoku mate kotoa pē ʻia ʻĀtamá, ʻe pehē foki, ʻe moʻui kotoa pē ʻia Kalaisi” (1 Kolinitō 15:22). ʻOku lahi mo ha ngaahi meʻaʻofa fakamatelie kehe ʻoku ʻikai makatuʻunga ia heʻetau talangofua fakafoʻituitui ki he fonó. Hangē ko hono akoʻi ʻe Sīsuú, ʻOkú Ne “pule ke hopo ʻene laʻaá ki he angakoví mo e anga-leleí, pea ʻokú ne tuku ʻa e ʻuhá ki he angatonú mo e taʻeangatonú” (Mātiu 5:45).

Kapau pē te tau fakafanongo, te tau lava ʻo ʻiloʻi ʻa e ʻofa ʻa e ʻOtuá mo ongoʻi ia, naʻa mo e taimi ʻoku tau talangataʻa aí. Naʻe fai e fakamatala ko ʻení ʻe ha fefine naʻe toki fokí ni mai ʻo mālohi he Siasí, ʻi haʻane malanga he houalotu sākalamēnití: “Kuó Ne ʻi ai maʻu pē ke tokoniʻi au, ʻo aʻu ki he taimi naʻá ku fakasītuʻaʻi ai Iá. Kuó Ne tataki maʻu pē mo fakafiemālieʻi au ʻaki ʻEne ʻaloʻofa ongongofuá ʻo takatakai ʻiate au, ka naʻá ku fuʻu ʻita lahi ke ʻiloʻi mo tali ʻa e ngaahi meʻa ʻoku hokó mo e ngaahi ongo peheé.”7

III.

Ko e ngaahi tāpuaki fungani taha ʻa e ʻOtuá ʻoku mahino ʻene makatuʻunga ʻi he talangofua ki he ngaahi fono mo e ngaahi fekau ʻa e ʻOtuá. Ko e tefitoʻi akonakí ʻoku maʻu ia mei he fakahā ʻo onopōní:

“ ʻOku ʻi ai ha fono naʻe tuʻutuʻuni pau ʻi he langí ki muʻa ʻi he teʻeki ai ke ʻai ʻa e ngaahi tuʻunga ʻo e māmaní, ʻa ia ʻoku makatuʻunga ki ai ʻa e ngaahi tāpuaki kotoa pē—

“Pea ʻo ka tau ka maʻu ha tāpuaki mei he ʻOtuá, ʻoku tupunga ia ʻi he talangofua ki he fono ʻa ia ʻoku makatuʻnga ia ki aí” (T&F 130:20–21).

ʻOku tokoni ʻa e tefitoʻi moʻoni lelei ko ʻení ke mahino kiate kitautolu ʻa e ʻuhinga ʻo ha ngaahi meʻa lahi, hangē ko hono ʻai ke potupotutatau ʻo e fakamaau totonú mo e ʻaloʻofá ʻe he Fakaleleí. ʻOkú ne toe fakamatalaʻi foki mo e ʻuhinga he ʻikai taʻofi ai ʻe he ʻOtuá hono fakaʻaongaʻi ʻo e tauʻatāina ke filí ʻe Heʻene fānaú. Ko e tauʻatāina ke filí—ʻa hotau mālohi ke filí—ʻoku mahuʻinga ia ki he palani ʻo e ongoongoleleí ʻa ia naʻá ne ʻomi kitautolu ki māmaní. ʻOku ʻikai kau noa mai ʻa e ʻOtuá ke taʻofi ʻa e ngaahi nunuʻa ʻo ha fili ʻa ha taha ke maluʻi ha kakai kehe—ʻo aʻu ai pē ki he taimi ʻoku nau fetāʻaki, fefakalaveaʻaki pe fefakamamahiʻaki aí—he te ne maumauʻi ai ʻe ia ʻEne palani ki he fakalakalaka taʻengatá.8 Te Ne tāpuakiʻi kitautolu ke tau kātakiʻi e ngaahi nunuʻa ʻo e fili ʻa e niʻihi kehé, ka he ʻikai ke Ne taʻofi ʻa e ngaahi fili ko iá.9

Ka mahino ki ha taha e ngaahi akonaki ʻa Sīsuú, he ʻikai fakakaukau ia ʻoku tui ʻetau Tamai Hēvani ʻofá pe ko Hono ʻAlo Fakalangí ʻoku māʻolunga ange ʻEna ʻofá ʻi heʻena ngaahi fekaú. Fakakaukau ki he ngaahi sīpinga ko ʻení.

ʻI he kamata ʻe Sīsū ʻEne ngāue fakafaifekaú, ko ʻEne ʻuluaki pōpoakí ko e fakatomalá.10

Ko e taimi naʻá ne fakaʻaongaʻi ai ʻa e ʻaloʻofá ʻi he ʻikai ke Ne fakahalaiaʻi ʻa e fefine naʻe moʻua ʻi he tonó, naʻá Ne fakahā ange ki ai “Alu, pea ʻoua ʻe toe faiangahala” (Sione 8:11).

Naʻe ʻakoʻi ʻe Sīsū, “ ʻE ʻikai hū ki he puleʻanga ʻo e langí ʻa kinautolu kotoa pē ʻoku pehē mai kiate au, ʻEiki, ʻEikí, ka ko ia ʻokú ne fai ʻa e finangalo ʻo ʻeku Tamai ʻoku ʻi he langí” (Mātiu 7:21).

Ko e mālohi ʻo e ngaahi fekau mo e fono ʻa e ʻOtuá ʻoku ʻikai liliu ia ke ne fakalato ʻa e tōʻonga pe ngaahi holi ʻoku manakoá. Kapau ʻoku ʻi ai ha taha ʻoku fakakaukau ʻoku hanga ʻe he ʻofa faka-ʻotuá pe ʻofa fakaemātuʻá ʻo ʻoange ki ha taha ha ngofua ke talangataʻa ki he fonó, ʻoku ʻikai mahino kiate ia ʻa e ʻofá pe ko e fonó. Naʻe fakahā ʻe he ʻEikí: “Ko ia ia ʻokú ne maumauʻi ha fono, ʻo ʻikai talangofua ki he fonó, ka ʻokú ne feinga ke hoko ko e fono kiate ia pē, ʻo ne loto ke nofo ʻi he fai angahalá, mo ne nofo ʻaupito ʻi he fai angahalá, ʻoku ʻikai lava ke fakamāʻoniʻoniʻi ia ʻe he fonó, pe ko e ʻaloʻofá, pe ko e fakamaau totonú, pe ko e fakamāú. Ko ia, kuo pau ke nau kei ʻuli ai pē’’ (T&F 88:35).

ʻOku tau lau he fakahā ʻo onopōní, “ ʻOku tuku ha fono ki he ngaahi puleʻanga kotoa pē” (T&F 88:36). Hangē ko ʻení:

“He ko ia ia ʻoku ʻikai te ne lava ʻo tauhi ʻa e fono ʻo ha puleʻanga fakasilesitialé ʻe ʻikai te ne lava ʻo kātakiʻi ha nāunau fakasilesitiale.

“Pea ko ia ia ʻoku ʻikai te ne lava ʻo tauhi ʻa e fono ʻo ha puleʻanga fakatelesitialé ʻe ʻikai te ne lava ʻo kātakiʻi ha nāunau fakatelesitiale.

“Pea ko ia ia ʻoku ʻikai te ne lava ʻo tauhi ʻa e fono ʻo ha puleʻanga fakatilesitialé ʻe ʻikai te ne lava ʻo kātakiʻi ha nāunau fakatilesitiale” (T&F 88:22–24).

Ko hono ʻai ʻe tahá, ko e puleʻanga ʻo e nāunau ʻe ʻave kitautolu ki ai ʻe he Fakamaau Fakaʻosí he ʻikai makatuʻunga ia he ʻofá ka ʻi he fono ne ʻomi ʻe he ʻOtuá ʻi Heʻene palani ke fakafeʻungaʻi kitautolu ki he moʻui taʻengatá, “ko e meʻaʻofa ʻoku mahuʻinga taha ʻi he ngaahi meʻaʻofa kotoa pē ʻa e ʻOtuá” (T&F 14:7).

IV.

ʻOku maʻu ʻe he mātuʻá ha ngaahi faingamālie lahi ke fakaʻaongaʻi ʻa e ngaahi tefitoʻi moʻoni ko ʻení ʻi hono akoʻi mo e fengāueʻaki mo ʻenau fānaú. Ko e taha ʻo e faʻahinga faingamālie peheé ʻoku fekauʻaki ia mo e ngaahi meʻaʻofa ʻoku foaki ʻe he mātuʻá ki heʻenau fānaú. Hangē ko hono foaki ʻe he ʻOtuá ha ngaahi meʻaʻofa ʻe niʻihi ki he kotoa ʻo ʻEne fānau fakamatelié taʻe fie maʻu ke nau talangofua fakafoʻituitui ki Heʻene ngaahi fonó, ʻoku pehē hono foaki ʻe he mātuʻá ha ngaahi meʻa lelei ki heʻenau fānaú ʻo hangē ko e nofoʻangá mo e meʻakaí ʻo aʻu ai pē kapau ʻoku ʻikai fakahoko kakato ʻe he fānaú ʻa e ngaahi fie maʻu kotoa ʻa e mātuʻá. Kapau ʻoku ʻi ai ha fānau ʻa ha mātuʻa ʻoku ʻalu hē—hangē ko ha taha taʻu hongofulu tupu ʻokú ne fakatuia ʻa e ʻolokaholó pe faitoʻo kona tapú—ʻoku nau fehangahangai mo ha fehuʻi faingataʻa. ʻOku hanga ʻe he ʻofa ʻa e mātuʻá ʻo fakangofua ʻa e ngaahi meʻa ko ʻení, ke nau fakaʻaongaʻi ia ʻi honau ʻapí, pe ʻoku fie maʻu ʻe he lao fakasivilé pe tuʻunga kovi ʻo e tōʻongá ni pe ko e mahuʻinga ʻo e toenga ʻo e fānaú ʻi he ʻapí ke tapui ʻeni?

Ko e fē ʻe fakangata ai ʻe he mātuʻá? Ko ha meʻa ia ke fai ʻaki e fakapotopoto ʻa e mātuʻá, ʻo tataki ʻe he fakahā ʻa e ʻEikí. ʻOku ʻikai ha tafaʻaki ia ʻi he ngāue ʻa e mātuʻá ʻe toe fie maʻu lahi ange ai ʻa e fakahinohino ʻa e langí pe ngalingali ʻe maʻu ai, ka ko e tuʻutuʻuni ko ia ʻa e mātuʻá ʻi hono ohi hake ʻo ʻenau fānaú mo hono puleʻi honau fāmilí. Ko e ngāue ʻeni ʻo ʻitānití.

ʻI he fekuki ʻa e mātuʻá mo e ngaahi palopalemá ni, ʻoku totonu ke nau manatuʻi e akonaki ʻa e ʻEikí ke tau tuku ʻa e toko hivangofulu mā hivá kae ō atu ki he toafá ʻo fakahaofi ʻa e sipi naʻe heé.11 Kuo kolea ʻe Palesiteni Tōmasi S. ʻOku totonu ke toe manatuʻi foki ʻe he mātuʻá hono toutou akoʻi ʻe he ʻEikí ko “ia ʻoku ʻofa ki ai ʻa e ʻEikí ʻokú ne tautea” (Hepelū 12:6).13 ʻI heʻene malanga konifelenisi ʻi he Feongoʻiʻakí mo e ʻOfá, naʻe akoʻi ai ʻe ʻEletā Nalesoni ko e “ ʻofa moʻoni ki he taha faiangahalá ke hoko ai ha fehangahangai fakahangatonu mo ia—kae ʻikai ko e tali fakalongolongo! ʻOku ʻikai poupouʻi ʻe he ʻofa moʻoní ʻa e tōʻonga te te ʻauha aí.”14
