Malu Maʻá e Laumālié

ʻOku ou fie maʻu ke mātuʻaki mahino ʻaupito ko e taimi te u tuʻu ai ʻi he ʻao ʻo e fakamaauʻanga ʻo e ʻOtuá, ne u ʻosi fakahaaʻi ki māmani … ʻoku moʻoni ʻa e Tohi ʻa Molomoná.

Elder Jeffrey R. Holland

ʻOku faʻa fakamatala ʻa e ngaahi kikite fekauʻaki mo e ngaahi ʻaho fakaʻosí ki ha ngaahi meʻa fakamamahi lahi hangē ko e mofuiké pe hongé pe tāfeá. ʻE lava ke fakaiku ʻeni ki ha ngaahi taʻe-manonga fakaʻekonōmika pe fakapolitikale lalahi ʻi ha ngaahi faʻahinga kehekehe.

Ka ʻoku ʻi ai ha faʻahinga fakaʻauha ʻo e ngaahi ʻaho fakaʻosí ʻoku hangē kiate au ʻoku ongo fakafoʻituitui ange kae ʻikai fakatokolahi—fakatāutaha ange kae ʻikai fakalūkufua, ko ha fakatokanga, mahalo ʻoku kaunga tonu ange ʻi he lotoʻi Siasí kae ʻikai ʻi tuʻa. Naʻe fakatokanga mai e Fakamoʻuí, ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho fakaʻosí ʻe lava ke kākaaʻi ʻe he fili ʻo e moʻoní ʻa e kakai kuo filí, ʻa kinautolu ko ia ʻo e “fuakavá.”1 Kapau te tau lau ʻeni ko ha faʻahinga fakaʻauha fakalaumālie, te ne lava ke fakamaama ha toe kikite ʻe taha ʻo e ngaahi ʻaho fakaʻosí. Fakakaukau ki he lotó ʻo lau ko ha ʻelito ia ʻo e tuí, ko e fakamaʻungaʻanga ʻo ʻetau falalá mo ʻetau ngaahi meʻa mahuʻingá; peá ke fakakaukau ki he folofola ʻa Sīsū fekauʻaki mo e ngaahi ʻaho fakaʻosí, “ ʻe mole ʻa e loto ʻo e kakaí.”2

Ko e meʻa ʻoku fakalotolahí, he ʻoku ʻafioʻi heʻetau Tamai ʻi he Langí ʻa e ngaahi fakatuʻutāmaki kotoa ʻo e ngaahi ʻaho kimui ní, ʻa e ngaahi faingataʻia ʻo e lotó mo e laumālié, pea kuó ne ʻosi ʻomi ha faleʻi mo ha maluʻi fekauʻaki mo kinautolu.

ʻI he misi ko ia ʻa Līhaí, naʻe toe faingataʻa ange ʻa e fononga naʻe ʻosi faingataʻa peé ʻi he taimi naʻe ʻalu hake ai ʻa e kakapu ʻo e fakapoʻulí ʻo ne fakapuliki ʻa e hala lausiʻi mo fāsiʻi naʻe pau ke muimui ai hono fāmilí mo ha niʻihi kehe. ʻOku mahuʻinga ke fakatokangaʻi naʻe tō mai e kakapu fakapoʻulí ni ki he kau fonongá kotoa—ki he kau faivelengá mo e kau loto vilitakí (te tau ala pehē, ko e kakai kuo filí) pea pehē kiate kinautolu naʻe vaivai mo ʻikai ha fakavaʻe leleí. Ko e tefitoʻi meʻa mahuʻinga ʻo e talanoá ko hono tekeʻi lelei ʻe he kau fonongá ʻa e ngaahi fakahalá kotoa, kau ai ʻa e fakatauele ʻo e ngaahi hala tapú mo e manuki mo e luma mei he kau hīkisia kuo nau fononga e ngaahi hala ko iá. ʻOku pehē ʻe he fakamatalá ko kinautolu naʻe maluʻí naʻa nau “vivili mai pea nau haʻu ʻo piki [pea ʻe lava ke u pehē, maʻu]” ki ha vaʻa ukamea ʻoku ʻalu hangatonu ʻi he hala totonú.4 Neongo pe ko e hā hano fakapoʻuli ʻo e poó pe ʻahó, ka ʻoku fakaʻilongaʻi ʻe he vaʻa ukameá ʻa e hala ʻokú ne ʻomi ʻa e fakamoʻuí.

ʻOku pehē ʻe Nīfai, “Naʻá ku vakai, ko e vaʻa ukameá … ko e folofola ia ʻa e ʻOtuá, [naʻe fakatau atu] … ki he ʻakau ʻo e moʻuí; … ko ha fakatātā ia ʻo e ʻofa ʻa e ʻOtuá.” ʻI heʻene vakai ki he fakafōtunga ko ʻeni ʻo e ʻofa ʻa e ʻOtuá, ne pehē ai ʻe Nīfai:

“Peá u mamata ʻo vakai ki he Huhuʻi ʻo e māmaní, … [ʻa ia] naʻe hāʻele atu ʻo ngāue ʻi he kakaí… .

“… Pea naʻá ku vakai ki ha ngaahi haʻofanga kakai tokolahi naʻe puke, pea nau moʻua ʻi he ngaahi faʻahinga mahaki kehekehe kotoa pē mo e kau tēvolo mo e ngaahi laumālie ʻuli; … pea naʻe fakamoʻui ʻa kinautolu ʻi he mālohi ʻo e Lami ʻa e ʻOtuá; pea naʻe kapusi ki tuʻa ʻa e kau tēvoló mo e ngaahi laumālie ʻulí.”5

Ko e ʻOfá. Fai-fakamoʻuí. Tokoní. ʻAmanaki Leleí. Ko e mālohi ia ʻo Kalaisi ke Ne fakafepakiʻi ʻa e ngaahi palopalema kotoa ʻi he kuonga kotoa pē—kau ai ʻa e ngataʻanga ʻo e ngaahi kuongá. Ko e taulanga malu ia ʻoku fie maʻu ʻe he ʻOtuá maʻatautolu ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ʻo e mamahi fakafoʻiuitui pe fakatokolahí. Ko e pōpoaki ia ʻoku kamata ʻaki ʻa e Tohi ʻa Molomoná, pea ko e pōpoaki ia ʻoku fakaʻosi ʻakí, ʻo ne ui ki he tokotaha kotoa pē ke “haʻu kia Kalaisi, pea hoko ʻo haohaoa ʻiate Ia.”6 Ko e kupuʻi lea ko iá—mei he fakamoʻoni talatuku ʻa Molonaí, ʻa ia ne hiki he taʻu ʻe 1,000 kimui ange hili e mata meʻa-hā-mai ʻa Līhaí—ko ha fakamoʻoni ia ʻa ha taha teu mate ʻo kau ki he founga totonu pē ʻe tahá.

Tuku muʻa ke u fakamatala ki ha fakamoʻoni “talatuku” ʻi onopooni. ʻI he ʻalu ʻa Siosefa Sāmita mo hono tokoua ko Hailamé ki Kātesi ke fehangahangai mo e meʻa naʻá na ʻilo ʻe iku ai ki hona fakapōngí, ne lau ai ʻe Hailame ʻa e ngaahi lea ko ʻení ke fakafiemālieʻi ʻa e loto ʻo hono tokouá:

“Kuó ke tui faivelenga; ko ia… . ʻe ngaohi koe ke ke mālohi, ʻo aʻu ki hoʻo nofo hifo ʻi he potu kuó u teuteu ʻi he ngaahi nofoʻanga ʻo ʻeku Tamaí.

“Pea ko ʻeni, ko au Molonai, ʻoku ou lea māvae … kae ʻoua ke tau feʻiloaki ʻi he ʻao ʻo e fakamaauʻanga ʻo Kalaisí.”7

Ko ha ngaahi veesi nounou ʻeni mei he vahe 12 ʻo e tohi ʻa ʻEtá ʻi he Tohi ʻa Molomoná. Ki muʻa pea tāpuni ʻe Hailame ʻa e tohí, naʻá ne peluki ʻa e tuliki ʻo e peesi naʻe lau mei aí, ʻo fakaʻilongaʻi ko ha konga ia ʻo ha fakamoʻoni taʻengata naʻe ʻamanaki ke mate ʻa e ongo tautehiná ni. ʻOku ʻi hoku nimá ʻa e tohi ko iá, ʻa e tohi tatau ne lau mei ai ʻa Hailamé, ʻoku kei ʻasi pē ʻa e tuliki naʻe pelukí. ʻI hono tukupōpula kinaua kimui ange ʻi he pilīsoné, naʻe tafoki ai e Palōfita ko Siosefá ki he kau leʻo naʻa nau tauhi pōpula iá, ʻo ne fai ange ha fakamoʻoni mālohi ki hono fakalangi mo moʻoni ʻo e Tohi ʻa Molomoná.8 Ne ʻikai fuoloa mei ai kuo hanga ʻe he meʻafaná mo e pulú ʻo toʻo e moʻui ʻa e ongo tangata fakamoʻoni mālohi ko ʻení.

ʻI heʻene hoko ko e taha ʻo e ngaahi ʻelemēniti ʻe lauiafe ʻo ʻeku fakamoʻoni ki hono fakalangi ʻo e Tohi ʻa Molomoná, ʻoku ou ʻoatu ia ko ha toe fakamoʻoni ʻe taha ki hono moʻoní. ʻI he momeniti maʻongoʻonga ko ʻeni—mo fakaʻosi—ʻo ʻena faingataʻaʻiá, ʻoku ou fehuʻi atu ai: ʻoku anga taʻe-taau nai ʻa e ongo tangatá ni ki he ʻOtuá ʻi heʻena kei hoko atu ʻo fakafalala ʻena moʻuí, hona lāngilangí mo ʻena fekumi ki he fakamoʻui taʻengatá ʻi ha tohi (ʻo ʻuhinga ki ha siasi mo ha ngāue) ne na faʻufaʻu taʻe ʻi ai hano fakavaʻe totonu?

Tukunoaʻi angé ʻa e ʻamanaki ke uitou hona ongo uaifí pea taʻe-tamai mo ʻena fānaú. Tukunoaʻi angé mo e ʻamanaki ke “hala-fale, hala-kaungāmeʻa mo hala-ʻapi” hona kau muimui tokosiʻí pea mo e teu ke ʻasi he fukahi vaitafe ʻaisí mo e ngaahi toafa mamaté ʻa e “louhiʻi vaʻe toto” ʻo ʻena fānaú.9 Tukunoaʻi angé mo e kakai tokolahi ʻe tōtaú mo e tokolahi moʻui te nau talaki ʻi he ngaahi tuliki ʻe fā ʻo e māmani ko ʻení ʻoku nau ʻilo ʻoku moʻoni ʻa e Tohi ʻa Molomoná mo e Siasi ʻokú ne taukaveʻi hono moʻoní. Tukunoaʻi kotoa ia ka ke tala mai pe ʻe hū nai ʻa e ongo tangatá ni ʻi he houa ko ʻeni ʻo e maté ki he ʻao ʻo hona Fakamaau Taʻengatá ʻokú na lau mo fiemālie ki ha tohi, kapau ʻoku ʻikai ko e folofola totonu ʻa e ʻOtuá ʻe talaki ai kinaua ko ha ongo kākā mo ha ongo fakangalingali ʻo aʻu ki he ngataʻanga ʻo taimí? He ʻikai ke na teitei fai ia! Naʻá na loto fiemālie pē ke na mate kae ʻikai fakaʻikaiʻi ʻa e tupuʻanga fakalangi pea mo e moʻoni taʻengata ʻo e Tohi ʻa Molomoná.

Ko ha taʻu ʻeni ʻe 179 hono siviʻi mo lauʻi ʻa e tohí ni, fakaʻikaiʻi mo ʻanalaiso fakaikiiki, tauvalovaloʻi mo fakaangaʻi, mahalo ʻo ʻikai tatau mo ha toe tohi ʻi he hisitōlia ʻi onopooni ʻo e tui fakalotú—mahalo ʻo ʻikai tatau mo ha toe tohi ʻi ha hisitōlia ʻo ha tui fakalotu pē. Ka ʻoku kei tuʻuloa pē ia. ʻOku haʻu mo ʻalu ha ngaahi fakakaukau ngalivale fekauʻaki mo hono tupuʻangá—meia ʻĒtani Sāmita (Ethan Smith) kia Solomone Sipolotingi (Solomon Spaulding) ki he kau ʻatamai taʻemahinó ki he kau poto kākaá. Kuo hala ha taha ʻo e ngaahi tali ngalivale ko ʻeni fekauʻaki mo e tohí ni kuó ne matuʻuaki hono siviʻí koeʻuhí he ʻoku ʻikai ke toe ʻi ai ha tali ia ka ko ia pē naʻe fai ʻe he talavou ta‘e ako ko Siosefá, naʻá ne liliu heʻene kei talavoú. ʻOku ou kau fakataha heni mo ʻeku kuitangata hono uá ʻa ia naʻe feʻunga pē ʻene pehē, “He ʻikai ha tangata angahala ia te ne lava ʻo faʻu ha tohi pehē; pea he ʻikai ha tangata lelei ia te ne faʻu ʻeni, tuku kehe kapau ʻoku moʻoni mo fekauʻi ia ʻe he ʻOtuá ke ne fakahoko.”10

ʻOku ou fakamoʻoni he ʻikai ha taha ia te ne maʻu ha tui kakato ki he ngāue ko ʻení ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho kimui ní—peá ne maʻu ai ha nonga mo e fiemālie kakato ʻo hotau kuongá—kae ʻoua ke ne tali moʻoni hono faka-ʻOtua ʻo e Tohi ʻa Molomoná mo e ʻEiki ko Sīsū Kalaisí ʻokú ne fakamoʻoniʻí. Kapau ʻoku ʻi ai ha taha ʻoku taʻe fakapotopoto pe takihalaʻi feʻunga ke ne taʻe tali ʻa e peesi ʻe 531 ʻo ha fakamatala taʻe-iloa mei muʻa ʻoku fonu ʻi he talanoá mo e palopalema faka-Semātikí kae ʻikai feinga moʻoni ke ʻilo e tupuʻanga ʻo e ngaahi peesi ko ʻení—tautautefito kapau ʻoku ʻikai ke ne maʻu hono ngaahi fakamoʻoni mālohi kia Sīsū Kalaisí pea mo e ʻaonga fakalaumālie lahi ʻo e fakamoʻoní ki he toko lauimiliona ʻoku nau lau ia he taimi ní—pea kapau ko ia, ta koe tokotaha peheé, ʻo tatau ai pē pe ko ha kakai fili pe ʻikai, kuo kākaaʻi ʻa kinautolu; pea kapau te ne mavahe mei he Siasí ni, kuo pau ke fakahoko ia ʻaki haʻanau fakaʻikaiʻi ʻa e Tohi ʻa Molomoná kae lava ke nau mavahe. ʻI heʻene peheé, ʻoku aʻu leva ʻa e tohí ki he meʻa ne folofola tonu ʻaki ʻe Kalaisí: “ko ha maka tūkiaʻanga, … ko ha maka fakaʻita,”11 ko ha fakafeʻātungiaʻanga ʻi he hala ʻo ha taha ʻoku taʻe fie tui ki he ngāué ni. Ne fuakava ha kau fakamoʻoni ʻo aʻu ki he kau fakamoʻoni naʻe fakafetau ʻi ha taimi kia Siosefá, pea nau fakamoʻoniʻi ʻo aʻu ki heʻenau maté ne nau mamata ki ha ʻāngelo pea mo nau ala ki he ʻū lauʻi peletí. Naʻa nau talaki, “Kuo fakahā ia kiate kimautolu ʻi he māfimafi ʻo e ʻOtuá, kae ʻikai ʻo e tangatá”. “[Ko ia ʻoku mau ʻilo pau ai ʻoku moʻoni] ʻa e ngaahi meʻá ni.”12

Ko ʻeni, naʻe ʻikai ke u folau fakataha mo e tokoua ʻo Sēletí ʻi he kolosi mai he tahí ki he maama foʻoú. Naʻe ʻikai ke u fanongo ki he lea ʻaki ʻe he Tuʻi ko Penisimaní ʻene malanga naʻe fakahoko ange ʻe ha ʻāngeló.
