Mapuleʻi ʻo e Angamaʻá

Ko e mapuleʻi ʻo e angamaʻá ʻa hono fakaʻaongaʻi maʻu pē ʻo e tauʻatāina ke filí, ke fili ai ki he totonú he ko e meʻa ia ʻoku totonu ke faí, neongo ʻene faingataʻá.

Elder D. Todd Christofferson

Lolotonga e Tau Lahi ʻa Māmani Hono Uá, ʻi he kau atu ʻa Palesiteni Sēmisi E. Fausi ʻi heʻene kei talavoú ki he Kau Tauʻuta ʻa ʻAmeliká, naʻá ne tohi ʻo kole hū ki he akoʻanga maʻá e kau ʻōfisá. Ko e ongo fehuʻi fakaʻosí naʻe peheni:

“ ʻOku totonu nai ke fakangaloku e ngaahi tuʻunga angamaʻá ʻi he taimi taú? ʻOku ʻikai nai fakatonuhiaʻi ʻe he ngaahi haʻahaʻa ʻo e taú hono fakahoko ʻe he kau sōtiá ha ngaahi meʻa he ʻikai ke nau fai ʻo kapau ne nau ʻi ʻapi ʻi honau tūkunga angamahení?

ʻOku pehē ʻe Palesiteni Fausi:

“Naʻá ku ʻiloʻi ko ha faingamālie ʻeni ke u fakahā ange ai ha ngaahi meʻa mahuʻinga pea hā ai ʻoku lahi e ngaahi meʻa ʻoku ou ʻiló. Naʻe mahino lelei kiate au naʻe ʻikai moʻui ʻaki ʻe he kau tangata naʻa nau fakaʻekeʻeke aú ʻa e ngaahi tuʻunga moʻui ne akonekina ai aú. Naʻá ku fakakaukau mahalo ʻoku sai ke u talaange ʻoku ʻi ai e ngaahi meʻa ʻoku ou tui ki ai, ka naʻe ʻikai ke u loto ke fakamālohiʻi ha niʻihi ke nau tui ki ai. Ka naʻe hangē naʻe vave ʻene hā mai ki heʻeku fakakaukaú ʻa e ngaahi fofonga ʻo e tokolahi kuó u akoʻi ki ai e fono ʻo e angamaʻá ʻi heʻeku hoko ko ha faifekaú. Ko hono ikuʻangá naʻá ku pehē ange, “ ʻOku ʻikai te u tui ʻoku ua ʻa e tuʻunga moʻui angamaʻá.

“Naʻá ku ʻalu mei he fakaʻekeʻeké mo ʻeku ʻiloʻi [naʻe ʻikai te nau] saiʻia he ngaahi tali naʻá ku faí … pea pau pē ʻe māʻulalo hoku māká. Hili ha ngaahi ʻaho siʻi mei ai naʻe paaki e olá, pea naʻá ku ʻohovale heʻeku lavá. Naʻá ku kau au he ʻuluaki kulupu naʻe fili ke hū ki he akoʻanga fakaʻōfisá! …”1

“Ko e taha ʻeni ʻo e ngaahi taimi mahuʻinga ʻo ʻeku moʻuí.”1

ʻOku ou fakaʻuhingaʻi ʻa e “mapuleʻi ʻo e angamaʻá” ko e mapuleʻi kita ʻo makatuʻunga ʻi he ngaahi tuʻunga moʻui angamaʻá. Ko e mapuleʻi ʻo e angamaʻá ʻa hono fakaʻaongaʻi maʻu pē ʻo e tauʻatāina ke filí, ke fili ki he totonú he ko e meʻa ia ʻoku totonu ke faí, neongo ʻene faingataʻá. ʻOkú ne fakafisingaʻi e siokitá pea fetongi ʻaki ia ʻa e ʻulungāanga ʻoku taau ke fakaʻapaʻapaʻi mo lau moʻoni ko e lahí tuʻunga ʻi he ngāue tokoni faka-Kalaisí (vakai, Maʻake 10:42–45). ʻOku fekauʻaki e tupuʻanga ʻo e foʻi lea ko e “mapuleʻí” (discipline) mo e foʻi lea faka-Pilitānia ko e ākonga (disciple), ʻo ne fokotuʻu mai ki he fakakaukaú ko ʻetau muimui ko ia ki he sīpinga mo e akonaki ʻa Sīsū Kalaisí, ko e tuʻunga māʻolunga taha ia ʻo e mapuleʻi kitá, pea ʻi hono fakatahaʻi mo ʻEne ʻaloʻofá, ʻokú ne ngaohi ha tokotaha ke anga māʻoniʻoni mo angamaʻa moʻoni.

Ne fakatefito ʻa e mapuleʻi ʻe Sīsū hono tuʻunga angamaʻá ʻi Hono tuʻunga fakaeākonga ki he Tamaí. Naʻá Ne akoʻi ʻene kau akongá ʻo pehē, “Ko ʻeku meʻakaí ko e fai ʻa e loto ʻo ia naʻá ne fekau aú pea fakaʻosi ʻene ngāué” (Sione 4:34). ʻI he founga peheni pē, ʻoku fakatefito ai ʻetau mapuleʻi hotau angamaʻá ʻi heʻetau moʻui mateakí mo līʻoa ki he Tamaí pea mo e ʻAló. ʻOku ʻomai ʻe he ongoongolelei ʻa Sīsū Kalaisí ʻa e loto fakapapau ʻa ia ʻoku langa ai ʻa e mapuleʻi ʻo e angamaʻá.

ʻI he ngaahi sosaieti ko ia ʻoku nofo ai hotau tokolahí, kuo laka hake he toʻu tangata ʻe tahá ʻa hono liʻaki pea ʻikai paotoloaki e mapuleʻi ʻo e angamaʻá. Kuo nau akoʻi tokua ko e moʻoní ʻoku ʻikai ko ha meʻa pau ia pea ʻoku fili e tokotataha kotoa pē ʻa e meʻa ʻokú ne pehē ʻoku totonú. Ko e fakakaukau hangē ko e angahalá mo e halá kuo nau fakahalaʻi tokua ko e ngaahi “fakakaukau fakapoto pē.” ʻOku fakamatalaʻi ia ʻe he ʻEikí ʻo pehē, “ka ʻoku ʻaʻeva ʻa e tangata taki taha ʻi hono hala pē ʻoʻona, pea fakatatau ki he tatau ʻo hono ʻOtua ʻoʻoná” (T&F 1:16).

Ko hono nunuʻá, kuo mōlia ai e mapuleʻi kitá, pea tuku ai e ngaahi sosaietí ke nau feinga ke pukepuke ʻa e māú mo e anga fakaʻapaʻapá ʻaki e founga fakamālohi. Ko e siʻi ko ia ʻa e mapuleʻi fakaeloto ʻa e fakafoʻituituí, ʻoku ne fakatupu hono puleʻi mei tuʻa ʻe he ngaahi puleʻangá. Ko e ʻahó ni, ʻoku tau fakafalala ki he ngaahi lao fekauʻaki mo e ngaohikovia fakasekisualé ke ne taʻofi e ʻulungāanga fulikivanú… .

He ʻikai malava ke fetongi ʻe he kau polisí mo e laó, ʻa e ngaahi anga fakafonua, tukufakaholo mo e ngaahi tuʻunga ʻulungāanga mahuʻingá fakaeangamaʻá ke puleʻi ʻaki e tōʻonga ʻa e tangatá. Ko e lelei tahá ke hoko pē ʻa e kau polisí mo e potungāue laó ko e feituʻu fakamuimuitaha ia ke ne maluʻi ha sosaieti fakasivilaise. ʻOku hoko e fakautuutu ko ia ʻetau fakafalala ki he ngaahi laó ke nau puleʻi e tōʻonga moʻuí ko ha meʻafua ʻo ʻetau hoko ko ha kakai anga fakasivilaisé.”2

ʻI he konga lahi ʻo e māmaní, kuo tau aʻusia ha tuʻunga tō lalo fakaʻekonōmika taimi fuoloa. Naʻe tupu ia ʻi he ngaahi ʻuhinga lahi, ka ko e taha e tefitoʻi tupuʻangá, ko e hulutuʻa ʻa e taʻe faitotonú mo e anga kākāá, tautautefito ki hono tuʻuaki ʻo e ngaahi falé mo e fakahū paʻanga ʻi ʻAmeliká. Ko e ngaahi ngāue fakaleleí ʻoku fakatefito ia ʻi hono faʻu ke lahi mo mālohi ange e ngaahi laó. Mahalo ʻe lava ai ke fakalotosiʻi ha niʻihi ke ʻoua te nau fakahoko ha ngaahi ʻulungāanga kākā, ka ko e niʻihi te nau toe fuʻu mataotao ange ʻi heʻenau kākaá.3 He ʻikai pē teitei lava ke faʻu ha ngaahi lao feʻunga te ne maluʻi e ngaahi tūkungá kotoa, pea kapau ʻe lava, ʻe mamafa hono totongí pea fakakavenga foki. ʻE hoko ʻa e foungá ni ko ha meʻa ke siʻi ange ai e tauʻatāina ʻa e taha kotoa—pea ʻi he kupuʻi lea fakangalongataʻa ʻa Pīsope Fulutoni J. Sīní, naʻá ne pehē, “ ʻOku ʻikai ke tau tali ʻa e haʻamonga ʻa Kalaisí; kuo pau ai ke tau tetetete ʻi he haʻamonga ʻa Sisá.”4

ʻI hono fakaʻosí, ko e kāpasa fakaeangamaʻa ʻoku tau taki taha maʻu ʻi lotó, ko ia pē te ne lava ke fehangahangai mo e ngaahi tupuʻanga mo e ngaahi fakaʻilonga ʻo e fakaʻauʻauhifo ʻa e sosaietí. ʻE koto-kula-noa ha feinga ʻa e ngaahi sōsaietí ke fokotuʻu e meʻa ki he lelei fakalūkufuá, kae ʻoua kuo talamahino ko e angahalá ko e angahala, pea fokotuʻu ʻa e mapuleʻi ʻo e angamaʻá ki hono tuʻunga ko e taha ʻo e ngaahi tuʻunga ʻulungāanga ʻoku fakaʻapaʻapaʻi ʻe he sosaietí.5

ʻOku ako ʻa e mapuleʻi ʻo e angamaʻá ʻi ʻapi. Neongo he ʻikai ke tau lava ke puleʻi ʻa e meʻa ʻoku fai pe taʻe fai ʻe he kakai kehé, ka ʻe lava ʻe he Kāingalotú ʻo tuʻu fakataha mo kinautolu ʻoku nau taukaveʻi ʻa e angamaʻá ʻi heʻenau moʻuí mo akonekina e toʻu tangata kei tupu haké ke nau angamaʻa. Manatu ki he hisitōlia ʻo e Tohi ʻa Molomoná, ki he kau talavou ko ia naʻe makatuʻunga mei ai ʻa e ikuna ʻa e kakai Nīfaí ʻi he tau lōloa ko ia ʻo e taʻu 66 ki he 60 BC—ʻa e ngaahi foha ʻo e kakai o ʻĀmoní. Ne fakamatalaʻi ʻa ʻenau tōʻonga moʻuí mo e mapuleʻi kitá ʻaki e ngaahi leá ni:

“Ko e kau tangata ʻa kinautolu naʻa nau faivelenga ʻi he meʻa kotoa pē ʻa ia naʻe tuku ke nau faí.

“ ʻIo, ko e kau tangata ʻa kinautolu naʻe lea totonu mo anga fakapotopoto, he kuo akonekina ʻa kinautolu ke tauhi ʻa e ngaahi fekau ʻa e ʻOtuá mo ʻaʻeva angatonu ʻi hono ʻaó” (ʻAlamā 53:20–21).

“Ko ʻeni kuo teʻeki ai ke nau tau, ka naʻe ʻikai te nau manavahē ʻi he maté; pea naʻa nau tokanga lahi ange ki he tauʻatāina ʻa ʻenau ngaahi tamaí ʻi heʻenau tokanga ki heʻenau moʻuí; ʻio, kuo akonekina ʻa kinautolu ʻe heʻenau ngaahi faʻeé, kapau ʻe ʻikai te nau taʻetui, ʻe fakahaofi ʻa kinautolu ʻe he ʻOtuá” (ʻAlamā 56:47).

Ko ʻeni ko e tui ʻeni ʻa e faʻahingá ni ʻa ia kuó u lau ki aí; ʻoku nau kei talavou, pea ʻoku ʻikai feliliuaki ʻenau fakakaukaú, pea ʻoku tuku ʻenau falalá ki he ʻOtuá maʻu ai pē (Alama 57:27)

ʻOku tau maʻu heni ha tuʻunga moʻui ki he meʻa ʻoku totonu ke hoko ʻi hotau ʻapí pea ʻi he Siasí foki. ʻOku totonu ke tau maʻu ivi mei heʻetau tuí, pea ke tokanga taha pē ki hono fakatō kakano ki he toʻu tangata kei tupu haké ʻa e tui ki he ʻOtuá. Kuo pau ke tau talaki ʻa e fie maʻu ke tauhi e ngaahi fekau ʻa e ʻOtuá, pea ke nau ʻaʻeva angatonu pea ʻi he anga fakapotopoto ʻi Hono ʻaó, pe ko hono fakalea ʻe tahá, ʻi he anga ʻapasia. ʻOku totonu ke ʻai ke ʻilo ʻe he tokotaha kotoa, ko e ngāue tokoni mo e feilaulau ki he lelei mo e fiefia ʻa e niʻihi kehé, ʻoku māʻolunga ia ʻi hono fakamuʻomuʻa ʻa ʻete fiemālié mo ʻete koloá.

Naʻe fakamatalaʻi ʻe Palesiteni Henelī B. ʻAealingi ʻa e vīsione ʻoku tau feinga ke aʻusiá ʻo pehē:

“Kuo pau ke tō kakano ʻa e ongoongolelei haohaoa ʻa Sīsū Kalaisí ʻi he loto ʻo (ʻetau fānaú) ʻaki ʻa e mālohi ʻo e Laumālie Māʻoniʻoní. He ʻikai feʻunga pē ke nau maʻu ha fakamoʻoni fakalaumālie ki he moʻoní pea toki fie maʻu ha ngaahi meʻa lelei ʻamui ange. He ʻikai feʻunga pē ke nau ʻamanaki ki hano fakamāʻoniʻoniʻi mo fakamālohia kinautolu. Ko ʻetau taumuʻá ke nau ului moʻoni ki he ongoongolelei ʻo Sīsū Kalaisi kuo toe fakafoki maí lolotonga ʻetau kei nofo mo kinautolú… .

“Pea te nau toki lava ʻo maʻu ha mālohi ʻiate kinautolu pē, ʻo ʻikai ngata pē he meʻa ʻoku nau ʻiloʻí. Te nau hoko ai ko e kau ākonga ʻa Kalaisi.”6

Kuó u fanongo ki ha pehē ʻe ha ngaahi mātuʻa tokosiʻi ʻoku ʻikai te nau loto ke fakamālohiʻi e ongoongoleleí ki heʻenau fanaú, ka ʻoku nau loto tokua ke fai pē ʻenau fakakaukaú ki he meʻa ko ia te nau tui mo muimui ki aí. ʻOku nau pehē ʻoku nau tuku e fānaú ke ngāue ʻaki ʻenau tauʻatāina ke filí. Ko e meʻa ʻoku ʻikai ke nau manatuʻí, ko hono ngāue ʻaki ko ia ʻo e ʻatamai potó ʻi he tauʻatāina ke filí ʻoku fie maʻu ki ai e ʻiloʻi ʻo e moʻoní, ʻo e ngaahi meʻá ʻo hangē ko honau anga totonú (vakai, T&F 93:24). Ko ʻene ʻikai ʻení, ʻe faingataʻa ke tau ʻamanaki atu ke maʻu ʻe he toʻu tupú ha mahino pea nau fakafuofuaʻi ʻa e fili ʻoku nau fehangahangai mo iá. ʻOku totonu ke fakakaukau e ngaahi mātuʻá ki he founga ʻoku hū atu ai e tēvoló ki heʻenau fānaú. ʻOku ʻikai tuʻuaki ʻe he Tēvoló mo ʻene kau muimuí e moʻoní, ka ʻoku nau taukaveʻi ʻa e angahalá mo e siokitá ʻi ha ngaahi founga kehekehe.

Ko hono moʻoní, ko ʻetau feinga ko ia ke ʻoua te tau kau ki ha tafaʻaki ʻi he ongoongoleleí, ʻoku tau fakafisingaʻi ai e ʻOtuá mo Hono mafaí. Kapau ʻoku tau fie maʻu ke mahino ki heʻetau fānaú ʻa e ngaahi fili ʻo e moʻuí, pea ke nau lava ʻo fakakaukau maʻanautolu, kuo pau ke tau fakamoʻoniʻi Ia mo ʻEne tokaimaʻanangá. ʻOku ʻikai ke fie maʻu ia ke nau ako mei ha meʻa fakamamahi ne nau aʻusia “kuo teʻeki ai hoko ʻa e fai angahalá ko e fiefia” (ʻAlamā 41:10).

Te u lava ke vahevahe mo kimoutolu ha fakatātā faingofua mei heʻeku moʻuí ʻo e meʻa ʻe lava ʻe he ngaahi mātuʻá ke fakahokó. ʻI he taimi naʻá ku taʻu nima pe ono aí, naʻá ku nofo ʻo hanga atu ki ha kiʻi fale koloa meʻakai. Naʻe fakaafeʻi au ʻi he ʻaho ʻe taha ʻe ha ongo tamaiki tangata ke mau ʻalu ki he falekoloá. ʻI heʻemau tuʻu ko ia ʻo mānumanu ki he lole ne fakatau aí, naʻe toʻo ʻe he tamasiʻi naʻe lahi angé ha foʻi lole ʻo faʻo ki hono kató. Naʻá ne fakaʻaiʻai au mo e tama ʻe tahá ke ma fai e meʻa tatau, pea hili haʻama kiʻi momou, naʻá ma fai ia. Ne mau ʻalu fakavave mei he fale koloá ʻo mau takitaha lele ki he ngaahi feituʻu kehekehe. Naʻá ku ʻilo ha feituʻu ke u toitoi ai ʻi ʻapi peá u hae ʻa e kofukofu ʻo e lolé. Naʻe ʻilo au heʻeku faʻeé ʻoku kei papani lole pē hoku matá ʻo ne taki fakafoki au ki he fale koloa meʻakaí. ʻI heʻema kolosi ko ia he halá, ne u ʻosi fakapapauʻi te u ngāue pōpula ki he mate. Naʻá ku kole fakamolemole mo ʻeku tangi ʻaloʻimata ki he tokotaha naʻe ʻaʻana ʻa e falekoloá pea totongi kiate ia ʻa e foʻi lolé ʻaki e sēniti ne u nō mei heʻeku faʻeé (ʻa ia ne pau ke u totongi fakafoki). Ko e ʻofa ko ia ʻeku faʻeé mo ʻene founga fakatonutonú naʻá ne tuʻusi kei taimi ai ʻa e faihiá mei heʻeku moʻuí.

ʻOku tau aʻusia kotoa pē e ngaahi ʻahiʻahí. Naʻe pehē pē mo e Fakamoʻuí ka “naʻe ʻikai te Ne fakavaivai ki ai” (T&F 20:22). ʻI he meʻa taimi tatau, ʻoku ʻikai totonu ke tau tukulolo koeʻuhí pē ko ʻetau fehangahangai mo e ʻahiʻahí. ʻE lava pē ke tau loto ki ai, ka ʻoku ʻikai ko ha meʻa ia ʻoku pau ke tau fai. ʻoku ʻikai hoko ʻa e fie maʻu ke fai peheé ko ha fakahinohino feʻunga ki he tōʻonga fakaeangamaʻá.”7

ʻOku ʻi ai e ngaahi meʻa ʻe niʻihi ʻoku hoko, mahalo naʻe tānaki atu ʻe he ʻahiʻahí ʻa e mālohi ko ia ke ne maʻu nimā ha tokolahi. ʻOku hounga kiate au e tokoni ʻi he ngaahi founga kehekehe ʻoku ʻoatu ʻe he Siasí ki ha kakai tokolahi ke tokoniʻi kinautolu ke nau fakaʻehiʻehi pe ke nau ʻilo e meʻa ke faí ʻo ka maʻunimā kinautolu. Neongo ʻe lava ʻe hono faitoʻó ʻo fai tokonia ha loto ʻo ha tokotaha, ka he ʻikai te ne lava ke fakafetongi ia. Kuo pau ke ngāueʻaki maʻu ai pē ʻo taʻengata e mapuleʻi kitá —ko e mapuleʻi ʻo e angamaʻá ʻoku fakavaʻe he tui ki he ʻOtua ko e Tamaí pea mo e ʻAló pea mo ia te Na lava ʻo aʻusia mo kitautolu tuʻunga ʻi he fakalelei ʻaloʻofa ʻa Sīsū Kalaisí. ʻI hono fakalea ko ia ʻe Pitá naʻá ne pehē, “ ʻOku ʻilo ʻe he ʻEikí ke fakamoʻui ʻa e kakai anga faka-ʻOtuá mei he ngaahi ʻahiʻahí” (2 Pita 2:9).

He ʻikai te tau lava ke pehē ʻe tatau e kahaʻú mo e kuohilí—ʻo kei tatau pē ʻa e ngaahi meʻa mo e sīpinga kuo tau fakafalala fakaʻekonōmika, fakapolitikale mo fakasōsiale ki aí. Mahalo ko ʻetau mapuleʻi fakaeangamaʻá ʻo kapau te tau lava ʻo tanumaki ia, te ne tākiekina kitautolu ki he leleí pea ueʻi hake ʻa e niʻihi kehé ke nau tulifua ki he meʻa tatau. Kuo tau fanongo ki ha ngaahi pōpoaki fakatupu fakakaukau mo fakalaumālie ʻi he konifelenisí ni, pea ʻi ha miniti siʻi ʻe fakahoko ʻe Palesiteni Tōmasi S.
