Ngesikhathi uNkulunkulu eyala uMose ukuba akhe itabernakele kwinkambu yabakwa-Israyeli, wayisho inhloso yalokho: “ukuba ngihlale phakathi kwabo” (u-Eksodusi 25:8). Ngaphakathi kwetabernakele, umphongolo wesivumelwano wawumele uNkulunkulu—ibhokisi lokhuni, elimbozwe ngegolide, eliqukethe isivumelwano esilotshiwe sikaNkulunkulu nabantu Bakhe (bheka ku-Eksodusi 25:10–22). Umphongolo wawugcinwe egunjini elingcwele futhi elimaphakathi kunawo wonke, lihlukaniswe yisisitho kwamanye amagumbi akwitabernakele. Isisitho simele ukusuka kwethu ekuphileni noNkulunkulu ngenxa yokuWa.

Ngaphandle kwaMose, sazi ngomuntu oyedwa owayekwazi ukungena kuleyo “ndawo engcwelengcwele” (u-Eksodusi 26:34)—umphristi omkhulu. Njengabanye abaphristi, kwakumele aqale agezwe futhi agcotshwe (bheka ku-Eksodusi 40:12–13) futhi agqokiswe izembatho ezingcwele ezikhombisa isikhundla sakhe (bheka ku-Eksodusi 28). Kanye ngonyaka, ngosuku olwalubizwa ngokuthi wuSuku lweNhlawulo, umphristi omkhulu wayenza iminikelo esikhundleni sabantu ngaphambi kokuba angene yedwa kwitabernakele. Esisithweni, wayeshisa impepho (bheka kuLevitikusi 16:12). Intuthu enephunga enyukela ezulwini yayimele imithandazo yabantu enyukela kuNkulunkulu (bheka Ihubo 141:2). Ngokwazi lokho okwaziyo ngoJesu Krsitu nendima Yakhe ohlelweni lukaBaba oseZulwini, uyabona ukuthi itabernakele lisikhomba kanjani kuMsindisi na? Njengoba itabernakele, nomphongolo ngaphakathi kwalo, kwakumele ukuba khona kwaNkulunkulu ebantwini Bakhe, uJesu Kristu wayemele ukuba khona kwaNkulunkulu ebantwini Bakhe. (bheka kuJohane 1:14). Njengomphristi omkhulu, uJesu Kristu ungumLamuli phakathi kwethu noBaba uNkulunkulu. Wadlula kwisisitho ukusilamulela ngegazi Lakhe lomnikelo Wakhe (bheka kwabaseHebheru 8–10).

Okunye okumayelana netabernakele labakwa-Israyeli kungezwakala kukhumbuleka kuwena, ikakhulukazi uma usuyile ethempelini ukuyothola izimiso zakho. Njengendawo engcwelengcwele yetabernakele, igumbi lethempeli lesilestiyali limele ukuba khona kwaNkulunkulu. Ukuze singene, kumele siqale sigezwe bese siyagcotshwa. Sigqoka izembatho ezingcwele. Sithandazela kwi-altare lapho imithandazo yethu ikhuphukela kuNkulunkulu. Bese ekugcineni, sidlula isisitho ukuyongena lapho kukhona uNkulunkulu.

Mhlawumbe okubalulekile kakhulu okufanayo phakathi kwamathempeli amanje netabernakele lasemandulo ukuthi kokubili, uma kuqondisiswa ngendlela efanele, kuqinisa ukholo lwethu kuJesu Kristu futhi kusigcwalisa ngokubonga ngomnikelo Wakhe wenhlawulo. UNkulunkulu ufuna bonke abantwana Bakhe babe Naye; Ufuna “umbuso wabaphristi” nabaphristikazi (u-Eksodusi 19:6). Kepha izono zethu ziyasivimba ekutholeni leso sibusiso, ngoba “akukho nto engcolile engahlala noNkulunkulu (1 Nefi 10:21). Ngakho-ke uNkulunkulu wathumela uJesu Kristu, “umpristi [wethu] omkhulu wezinto ezinhle ezizayo” (kumaHeberu 9:11). Usigudluzela isisitho futhi anikeze amandla kubo bonke abantu baNkulunkulu ukuba “[be]sondele ngesibindi esihlalweni somusa ukuba samukeliswe isihawu” (kumaHeberu 4:16).

Namuhla, inhloso yethempeli inkulu kunokuba sizitholele ukuphakanyiswa. Emuva kokuba sithole izimiso zethu, singama esikhundleni sabangasekho bethu, ngokubabambela, samukele izimiso ezikhundleni zabo. Ngandlela thizeni, singaba okucishe kufane nomphristi omkhulu wasemandulo—nomPhristi omKhulu Kakhulu—sivulele abanye indlela eya kuNkulunkulu.

Umnikelo Uqinisa Ukholo kuJesu Kristu

Imigomo yenhlawulo nokubuyisana ifundiswa ngendlela enamandla osikweni lasendulo lokunikela ngesilwane, okwakwenziwa ngaphambili komthetho kaMose. Ngenxa yevangeli elibuyiselwe, siyazi ukuthi u-Adamu no-Eva banikela, bazi ukuthi kumele umnikelo woMsindisi, futhi bafundisa abantwana babo lokhu (bheka kuMose 5:4–12; bheka futhi uGenesise 4:4).

Lokhu okumelwe umnikelo wesilwane kwakungabukeka kudumaza ngoSuku lweNhlawulo labakwa-Israyeli (“Yom Kippur” ngesiHeberu). Isidingo salomcimbi owawuba njalo ngonyaka sichaziwe kuLevitikusi 16:30: “Ngokuba ngalolo suku niyakwenzelwa ukubuyisana ukuba nihlanjululwe; niyakuhlambuluka ezonweni zenu zonke phambi kukaJehova.” Ngakho-ke ukuba khona kwaNkulunkulu kwakungaqhubeka ebantwini Bakhe. Lenhlawulo yafezwa ngemicimbi ehlukahlukene. Kowodwa umcimbi, imbuzi yayibulawa njengomnikelo wezono zabantu, futhi umphristi omkhulu athathe igazi lempongo aliyise endaweni engcwele kunazo zonke. Ngokudlula kwesikhathi, umphristi omkhulu wayebeka izandla zakhe empongweni ephilayo bese evuma izono zabantu bakwa-Israyeli—enze lokhu ukukhombisa ukuthi lezo zono ziyiswa empongweni. Bese impongo yayikhishwa kwiNkambu yabakwa-Israyeli.

Kulolusiko, izimpongo zazimele uJesu Kristu, ethatha indawo yabantu abonile. Isono akumele sivunyelwe lapho kukhona uNkulunkulu. Kepha, kunokuthi abhubhise noma axoshe abonile, uNkulunkulu wanikeza enye indlela—kunalokho impongo yayizobulawa noma ixoshwe. “Impongo ithwale ububi babo bonke” (kuLevitikusi 16:22).

Ukubonakaliswa kwalamasiko kwakukhomba indlela uNkulunkulu ayinikezile ukusibuyisa kuYena—uJesu Kristu neNhlawulo Yakhe. UMsindisi “uthwale izifo zethu, wabetshatha ubuhlungu bethu,” ngisho “ububi bethu sonke” (u-Isaya 53:4, 6). Wama endaweni yethu, wanikela ngempilo Yakhe ukukhokhela inhlawulo yesono, bese wanqoba ukufa ngoVuko Lwakhe (bheka uMosiya 15:8–9). Umnikelo waJesu Kristu “[wawung]umnikelo omkhulu nowokugcina; yebo, hhayi umnikelo womuntu, noma wesilwane” kepha “umnikelo ongenakuphela futhi waphakade” (u-Alima 34:10). Wayengukufezeka kwakho konke lokho iminikelo yasemandulo yayikukhomba.

Ngalesi sizathu, emuva kokuba umnikelo wakhe usuphelile, Wathi, “Ningabe nisaletha kimi nanini ukuchithwa kwegazi; yebo, imihlatshelo yenu … iyoyekwa. … Futhi niyonikela umnikelo kimi wenhliziyo edabukileyo kanye nomphefumulo ophukileyo” (3 Nefi 9:19–20).

Ngakho-ke, uma uthola imibhalo kwiTestamente eliDala emayelana neminikelo netabernakele (noma ngokuhamba kwesikhathi, emayelana nethempeli)—futhi uzothola eminingi—khumbula ukuthi inhloso eyisisekelo yakho konke ukuqinisa ukholo lwakho kuMesiya, uJesu Kristu. Yekelela inhliziyo nengqondo yakho kubheke Kuye. Cabanga ngalokho akwenzile ukukubuyisela kuNkulunkulu—nalokho ozokwenza ukuze umlandele.

Imithombo okuthathwe kuyo lemfundiso

Letabernakele, lapho u-Aroni namadodana Akhe benza iminikelo yesilwane, nayo yayijwayele ukubizwa “[nge]tabernakele yebandla” (isibonelo, bheka, ku-Eksodusi 28:43; 38:30; kuLevitikusi 1:3).
