ʻOku mahuʻinga taha e poto ʻo māmaní ʻi he taimi ʻoku tākiekina ai pea muimui ki he poto ʻo e ʻOtuá.

ʻOku tau moʻui ʻi ha māmani ʻoku hulu ʻi he ngaahi fakamatalá. Mahalo ko e fakataipe ʻo e māmani ko ʻení ʻa e fakaofo ʻo e Wikipedia, ko e ʻenisaikolopītia lahi taha ia ʻa māmani ʻi he ʻInitanetí. Ke tokoni atu ke ke ʻiloʻi hono lahi ʻo e Wikipedia, ʻi he 2012 pē, kuo laka hake ʻi he ngaahi foʻi lea ʻe 2.5 piliona ai ʻi he lea faka-Pilitāniá ʻataʻatā pē, pea laka hake he ngaahi fakamatala ʻe 22 miliona ai ʻi ha meimei lea fakafonua ʻe 284. ʻOku laka hake he ngaahi lea fakafonua ʻe 70 ʻo e Wikipedia ʻoku ʻikai siʻi hifo ʻi he ngaahi fakamatala ʻe 10,000 ʻi ai. ʻOku laka hake ʻi he ngaahi fakamatala ʻe 4 milioná ʻi he lea faka-Pilitāniá.1

ʻOku fakamoʻoniʻi foki ʻa e fuʻu hulu ʻo e fakamatala ʻoku tau maʻú ʻi hono lahi hono fakaʻaongaʻi ʻo e ngaahi saiti kulupu fengāueʻaki hangē ko e Facebook, ʻa ia ne kamata ʻi he 2004 pea fakaʻaongaʻi ʻe ha toko 1 piliona ʻi māmani kātoa ʻi he 2012,2 ʻi he YouTube, ʻa ia ne kamata ʻi he 2005, ʻo fai ai hono toutou mamataʻi ʻo ha ngaahi konga vitiō ʻo laka hake ʻi he tuʻo 100 milioná.

ʻI he fakautuutu hono fakaʻaongaʻi ʻo e ngaahi fakamatala ko ʻení, ʻoku tau fuʻu fie maʻu lahi ai ʻa e potó, ʻa e poto ke filifili pea ʻiloʻi e founga ke fakaʻaongaʻi ʻaki e meʻa ʻoku tau akó. ʻOku pehē ʻe T. S. ʻElioti, ko ha tokotaha Kalisitiane naʻe tui kia Kalaisi, ʻi he ngaahi meʻa naʻá ne tohi he laui taʻu kuo hilí, ki hotau māmani he ʻaho ní:

ʻA e māmani failau mo fakatōlaú, ʻo e fanauʻí mo e maté!

Siakale ʻikai ngata ʻo e fakakaukaú mo hono ngāueʻí,

ʻIkai ngata e faʻu meʻa foʻoú, ʻikai ngata e fakatotoló,

ʻOku ʻomi ʻe heʻetau ʻiló kotoa ke tau ofi ange ki heʻetau taʻeʻiló,

ʻOku ʻomi kotoa heʻetau taʻeʻiló ke tau ofi ange ki he maté,

Kae ʻikai pē ha ofi ange ki he ʻOtuá he ofi ʻa e maté.

Ko e fē Moʻui ne mole ʻi heʻetau moʻui ʻakí?

Ko e fē poto ne mole ʻi heʻetau ʻiló?

Ko e fē ʻilo ne mole ʻi he fakamatalá?

ʻOmi ʻe he fāliunga ʻo taimi he uofuluʻi senitulí

Ke tau mamaʻo ange mei he ʻOtuá kae ofi ange ki he Efú.3

Ko e hā ʻene mahino ʻo e potó kiate koé? ʻE ʻi ai ha niʻihi te nau hangē ko e finemui naʻe fiefia ʻi heʻene teu malí, peá ne pehē ange ki heʻene ongomātuʻá, “Ko e teu ʻeni ke u mali. Ko ʻene ʻosi atu ia e ngaahi meʻa kotoa ke u hohaʻa ki aí.” Pea fanafana ange ʻene faʻeé ki heʻene tamaí, “ʻIo, ka ʻoku ʻikai te ne ʻilo pe ko ʻene ʻosí atu ia pe ko ʻene kamatá.”

Ko e lahi ange ʻeku ʻilo ki he poto ʻo e ʻOtuá, ko e lahi ange ia ʻeku tui ʻoku ou ʻi he kamataʻanga pē ʻo e ngataʻanga ʻo e potó. ʻOku ou maʻu ha loto fakatōkilalo ʻi heʻeku ʻiloʻi ʻa e lahi ʻo e meʻa ʻoku fie maʻu ke u akó. ʻI he ʻaho ní, ʻoku ou fakaʻamu ke fakatupulaki ʻetau holi ke maʻu ʻa e potó pea fakatautefito pē ki he poto ʻo e ʻOtuá.

Ko e Ngaahi Tāpuaki ʻo e Potó

ʻOku ou fie fakamamafaʻi ha ngaahi tefitoʻi moʻoni lahi ʻo e potó. ʻUluakí, ʻi he kuonga ko ʻeni ʻo e maʻu fakamatala mo e ʻilo ʻoku tau moʻui aí, kuo pau ke tau fekumi ki he potó. ʻOku lahi e ngaahi tafaʻaki ʻo e potó pea ʻoku kehekehe, pea ʻoku maʻu ia ʻi he ngaahi tuʻunga kehekehe. ʻOku ʻomi ʻe he poto ʻoku maʻu ʻi he kei siʻí ha ngaahi tāpuaki lahi. He ʻikai ala ʻaonga ʻa e poto ʻi ha tafaʻaki ʻe taha ki ha tafaʻaki kehe. Pea fakaʻosí, neongo ʻene mahuʻinga lahi ʻa e poto e māmaní ʻi he ngaahi meʻa lahi, ka ʻoku mahuʻinga taha pē ia ʻi he taimi ʻoku tākiekina ai pea muimui ki he poto ʻo e ʻOtuá.

ʻOku fakamatala e folofolá ki ha faʻahinga poto ʻe ua: ko e poto ʻo māmaní pea mo e poto ʻo e ʻOtuá.

Ko ha sīpinga mei he Tohi ʻa Molomoná ʻa e tangata ko ia ko ʻAmelikai. Naʻe hoko atu hono fakamatalaʻi ʻe he folofolá ʻa ʻAmelikaí ko ha “tangata angakovi ia, … [he ko ʻene] fakakaukaú] ke fakaʻauha ʻa e siasi ʻo e ʻOtuá” (ʻAlamā 2:1–2, 4; ko e toki tānaki atu hono fakamamafaʻí). ʻOku ʻikai ke tau fie maʻu ʻe kitautolu ʻa e faʻahinga poto ko ʻení.

ʻOku ʻi ai e faʻahinga poto ia ʻe taha ʻo e māmaní ʻoku ʻikai fuʻu fakalilifu pehē. Ko hono moʻoní, ʻoku fuʻu lelei ʻaupito ia. ʻOku maʻu ʻa e poto ko ʻení ʻi he ako, fakalaulauloto, vakavakaiʻi ʻo e ngaahi meʻa ʻoku hokó, mo e ngāue mālohi. ʻOku mātuʻaki mahuʻinga mo ʻaonga ki he ngaahi meʻa ʻoku tau faí. ʻOku maʻu ia ʻe he kakai lelei mo ʻulungaanga tāú ʻi heʻetau aʻusia e ngaahi meʻa ʻo ʻetau moʻui fakamatelié.

Te mou manatuʻi e lea naʻe fai ʻe he tangata faʻu tohi ʻAmelika ko Maʻake Tueiní (Mark Twain): “ʻI he taimi ne u taʻu 14 aí, naʻe fuʻu taʻe ʻilo ʻaupito ʻeku tangataʻeikí pea naʻe ʻikai ke u saiʻia ke nofo ofi holo ai. Ka ʻi heʻeku aʻusia hoku taʻu 21, ne u ofo ʻi he meʻa lahi kuó ne ako ʻi he taʻu ʻe 7.”4 Kapau te tau fakatokanga meʻa, kapau te tau faʻa fakakaukau, ʻe lava ke tau ako ha meʻa lahi ʻi he vahaʻataimi ko iá.

ʻOku ou manatu ki he taimi ne u ʻosi ai mei he kolisí.

ʻE lava pē ke tau puna fakalaka kitautolu ʻi he ngaahi meʻa fakamamahi lahi ʻoku aʻusia ʻe ha niʻihi ʻi he moʻuí ʻaki haʻatau kumi ke maʻu ʻa e potó ʻi heʻetau kei talavoú—ʻa e poto ʻoku ʻikai faʻa maʻu ʻe ha taha ʻo hotau toʻú. Fekumi ki he poto ko ʻení—faʻa fakakaukau, vakavakaiʻi fakalelei e ngaahi meʻa ʻoku hokó, fakakaukau ki he meʻa ʻokú ke aʻusia ʻi he moʻuí.

ʻE lava foki ke tau ako ʻa e potó ʻi heʻetau ngaahi ngāue fakapalofesinale mo fakatāutaha paú. Tuku ke u ʻoatu ha fakatātā ʻe ua.

Ko Toketā Tivoni C. Heilí (Dr. DeVon C. Hale) ko ha toketā ia ʻi Sōleki Siti ʻa ia naʻe tupu hake ʻi ʻAitahō Folo, ʻi ʻAitahō. Ne u ofo ʻi he ʻilo mo e poto naʻá ne maʻu fekauʻaki mo e ngaahi mahaki ʻo e talopikí.

Ko e fefiné ni naʻe ʻi hono taʻu 50 tupú pea ko e meʻa fakaofo ʻa ʻene malava ke ngāue mo e fānau īkí. Naʻá ne ʻiloʻi e founga ke fakaʻaiʻai ʻaki kinautolú, ʻa e taimi ke fakahīkihikiʻi ai kinautolú, mo e taimi ke tuʻu fefeka ai ʻo ʻikai fakavaivai kiate kinautolu. Naʻá ne maʻu ʻa e potó ke akoʻi kinautolu, ka naʻe kei lahi ʻānoa pē mo e ngaahi meʻa naʻá ne lavá. Naʻá ma ngāue mālohi ke fakahū takitaha ʻema fānaú ki hono loki ako kinitakātení.

ʻOku fakatātaaʻi ʻe he ongo kakaí ni ʻa e poto ʻoku filifili ʻi he māmaní. ʻOku ʻaonga honau potó ki he kakai tokolahi pea ʻoku malava ai ke nau lavameʻa ʻi heʻenau ngaahi ngāue maʻuʻanga moʻuí.

Neongo iá, ʻoku totonu ke tau ʻiloʻi ʻa hono ngaahi fakangatangata ʻo e poto ko ʻení. Ko e poto ʻi he tafaʻaki ʻe tahá ʻe ʻikai ala ʻave ia ʻo fakaʻaongaʻi ko e poto ʻi ha tafaʻaki kehe. Hangē ko ʻení, he ʻikai ke u fie maʻu ʻe au ke hanga ʻe Mīsisi Kuleipele ʻo fakafuofuaʻi mai e ngaahi mahaki ʻo e talopikí, pea he ʻikai ke u fie maʻu ke akoʻi ʻe Toketā Heili e kalasi kinitakāteni ʻeku kiʻi tamasiʻí.

Kae mahuʻinga ange aí, kuo pau ke fiemālie ʻa e poto ko ia ʻokú ne ʻomi ʻa e lavameʻá ki he māmaní ke ne ʻi lalo pē ʻi he poto ʻo e ʻOtuá ʻo ʻoua naʻá ne fakakaukau te ne lava ke fetongi ia.

Manatu: ʻoku ʻikai tuʻunga tatau ʻa e poto kotoa pē.

Naʻe pehē ʻe he tangata faʻu Sāmé, “Ko e manavahē ki [he ʻEikí] ko e kamataʻanga ia ʻo e potó” (Saame 111:10). Ko e ʻuhinga ʻa e folofolá, ko e “ʻapasia lahi”5 ki he ʻEikí ko e kamataʻanga ia ʻo e potó. ʻOku maʻu ʻa e ʻapasia lahi ko iá he “ʻoku maʻu [ʻe heʻetau Tamai Hēvaní] ʻa e poto kotoa, mo e māfimafi kotoa, ʻi he langí mo e māmaní fakatouʻosi” (Mōsaia 4:9). ʻOku haohaoa Hono potó. ʻOku maʻa. ʻOku taʻesiokita.

Taimi ʻe niʻihi ʻe tuʻu fehangahangai ai ʻa e poto ko ení mo e poto ʻo māmaní, ʻa ia ko e pehē ʻe fepaki ʻa e poto ʻo e ʻOtuá mo e poto ʻo māmaní.

Manatuʻi e ngaahi folofola ʻa e ʻEikí ʻi he tohi ʻa ʻĪsaiá?

“He ʻoku pehē ʻe [he ʻEikí] ʻoku ʻikai ko hoʻomou ngaahi mahaló ʻa ʻeku mahaló, pea ʻoku ʻikai ko homou ngaahi halá ʻa hoku ngaahi halá.

“He ʻoku hangē ʻoku māʻolunga hake ʻa e ngaahi langí mei he māmaní, ʻoku pehē hono māʻolunga ʻo hoku ngaahi halá, pea mo ʻeku mahaló ʻi hoʻomou ngaahi mahaló” ʻĪsaia 55:8–9.

He ʻikai ke tau maʻu ʻa e poto ʻo e ʻOtuá koeʻuhí he ʻoku ʻi ai pē haʻatau totonu ki ai; kuo pau ke tau vivili atu ke kumi ia. “Ka ai hamou taha ʻoku masiva ʻi he potó, ke kole ʻe ia ki he ʻOtuá, ʻa ia ʻokú ne foaki lahi ki he kakai kotoa pē, pea ʻoku ʻikai valokiʻi; pea ʻe foaki ia kiate ia. (Semisi 1:5).

Ko e poto ʻo e ʻOtuá ko ha meʻafoaki fakalaumālie ia. “ʻOua ʻe kumi ki he ngaahi koloá ka ki he potó, pea vakai, ʻe fakahā ʻa e ngaahi meʻa lilo ʻa e ʻOtuá kiate kimoua, pea ʻe toki fakakoloaʻiaʻi ʻa kimoua” (T&F 6:7; ko e toki tānaki atu hono fakamamafaʻí).

ʻOku ō fakataha maʻu pē ʻa e kumi ki he poto ʻo e ʻOtuá mo e talangofua ki he ngaahi fekaú.

ʻOku angamaheni ʻaki hono maʻu ʻa e meʻafoaki fakalaumālie ʻo e potó ko e sitepu ki he sitepu ʻi he taimi ʻoku tau fekumi ai ʻi he loto fakamātoato mo faivelengá. “Te u foaki ki he fānau ʻa e tangatá ʻa e ʻotu lea ki he ʻotu lea, ʻa e akonaki ki he akonaki, ko e siʻi ʻi heni pea siʻi ʻi hena; pea ʻoku monūʻia ʻa kinautolu ʻoku fanongo ʻo tokanga ki heʻeku ngaahi akonakí, … he te nau maʻu ai ʻa eʻiló; he ko ia ʻokú ne talí te u foaki ʻo lahi ange kiate ia” (2 Nīfai 28:30; ko e toki tānaki atu hono fakamamafaʻí).

Naʻe lea ʻaki ʻeni ʻe Siosefa Sāmita: “ʻOku fuʻu mahuʻinga fau e ngaahi meʻa ʻa e ʻOtuá; pea ko e taimi, mo e taukei pea mo e ngaahi fakakaukau lelei mo lolotó pē te nau lava ʻo ʻiloʻi kinautolú.”6 ʻI heʻetau kumi ki he poto ʻo e ʻOtuá, he ʻikai ke tau maʻu ia he taimi pē ko iá.

Ko hono fakaʻosí, ʻoku kehe ʻa e feituʻu ʻoku maʻu mei ai ʻa e poto ʻo e ʻOtuá mei he poto ʻo māmaní. ʻOku maʻu ʻa e poto ʻo e ʻOtuá ʻi he ngaahi folofolá, ʻi he ngaahi akonaki ʻa e kau palōfitá (ʻo hangē ko ia ʻoku fakahoko lolotonga e konifelenisi lahí), pea ʻi heʻetau ngaahi lotú foki (vakai, T&F 8:1–2). Naʻe pehē ʻe he ʻAposetolo ko Paulá:

“He ko hai ha tangata ʻokú ne ʻilo ʻa e ngaahi meʻa ʻa e tangatá ka ko e laumālie pē ʻo e tangatá ʻoku ʻiate iá? Pea ʻoku pehē, ʻoku ʻikai ha tangata ʻokú ne ʻilo ʻa e ngaahi meʻa ʻa e ʻOtuá, ka ko e Laumālie pē ʻo e ʻOtuá. …

“ʻA e ngaahi meʻa ko ia ʻoku mau lea ki aí, kae ʻikai ʻi he ngaahi lea ʻoku ako mai ʻe he poto ʻo e tangatá, ka ko ia ʻoku ako ʻaki ʻe he Laumālie Māʻoniʻoní” (1 Kolinitō 2:11, 13; ko e toki tānaki atu hono fakamamafaʻí).

ʻI he poto ʻo e ʻOtuá, ʻoku tau vakai ʻo mamaʻo atu ʻi he ngaahi meʻa ʻoku lolotonga hokó, he hangē ko e lau ʻa e folofolá, “ʻoku folofola ʻaki ʻe he Laumālié … ʻa e ngaahi meʻa ʻo hangē ko honau angamoʻoní, pea ki he ngaahi meʻa ʻo hangē ko honau angamoʻoni ʻe ʻi aí” (Sēkope 4:13).

Ko e poto ʻo e ʻOtuá ko e poto ia ʻoku taau ke tau fuʻu tokanga ki ai.

Potó mo e Vahehongofulú

Mahalo ko e meʻa mahuʻinga tahá ʻa e ʻikai ke tuʻunga tatau ʻa e poto kotoa pē. ʻOku fie maʻu ke tau ʻilo ko e taimi ʻoku fepaki ai ʻa e poto ʻo māmaní mo e poto ʻo e ʻOtuá, kuo pau ke tau fakavaivaiʻi hotau lotó ki he poto ʻo e ʻOtuá.

Ko e ngaahi foha mo e ngaahi ʻofefine kitautolu ʻo e ʻOtuá. Ko ha kakai fakalaumālie kitautolu ʻoku tau fakahoko hotau misiona ʻi he māmaní. Ko kitautolu ko ia ʻoku tau mateaki ʻi hono ako ʻa e poto ʻo māmaní mo e poto ʻo e ʻOtuá, kuo pau ke ʻoua naʻa tau fetoʻoaki ʻa e poto ʻoku mahuʻinga angé.

Kau ʻoatu muʻa ha meʻa naʻe aʻusia ʻe ha fefine Siasi anga fakaʻeiʻeiki ʻi Sao Paula, ʻi Palāsila.

“Naʻe taʻofi ʻe he ʻunivēsití … ʻa e fānau ako ʻi ai honau moʻuá [pe teʻeki ai totongi ʻenau totongi akó] mei hono fai ʻo e ngaahi siví.

“Kuó u manatuʻi ha taimi ʻe taha ne u … fepaki ai mo ha faingataʻaʻia fakapaʻanga lahi. Ko e Tuʻapulelulu ne maʻu ai ʻeku vahé. Pea ʻi heʻeku fikaʻi ʻeku patiseti fakamāhiná, ne u ʻilo ai he ʻikai feʻunga ia ke totongi fakatouʻosi ʻeku vahehongofulú mo ʻeku akó. Kuo pau ke u fili pē ha taha. Kimuʻa peá ke ʻalú, afe ange hoku tesí ʻo talamai hono mahuʻingá kau ʻoatu e sieké ʻa pongipongi.”7

Kapau ʻokú ke fakatokanga meʻa, te ke ʻilo ʻokú ke fetaulaki mo e ngaahi sivi ko ʻení ʻi ha taimi lahi ʻi hoʻo moʻuí. Ko hai te ke falala ki aí? Fanongo ki he fakatokanga fakahangatonu mai ʻa e ʻEikí kiate kitautolú:

Pea kuo pau ke nau mate.

Ko e lau ʻeni ʻa Paulá:

“ʻOua naʻa kākaaʻi ha taha ʻe ia. Kapau ʻoku ai ha taha ʻiate kimoutolu ʻoku ongoongo ko e poto ia ʻi māmani, tuku ke lau ia ko e vale koeʻuhí kae lau ia ko e poto.

“He ko e poto ʻo māmaní ko e vale ia ki he ʻOtuá” (1 Kolinitō 3:18–19; ko e toki tānaki atu hono fakamamafaʻí).

ʻOku faʻa siviʻi kitautolu pe te tau tuku koā e poto ʻo e ʻOtuá ke hoko ko hotau fakahinohino ʻi he taimi ʻoku ō fehangahangai ai mo e poto ʻo māmaní.

Naʻe fakalea peheni ia ʻe Siosefa Sāmita: “ʻOku tokolahi foki mo ha kakai tangata mo ha kakai fefine poto ʻi hotau lotolotongá ʻoku fuʻu poto ia ke akoʻi; ko ia kuo pau ai ke nau mate pē ʻi heʻenau taʻe ʻiló, pea te nau toki ʻilo ʻi he toetuʻú ʻa ʻenau fehālākí.”8
