Ko e Hala Faka-Kosipeli ki he Fiefiá
Mei ha lea ko e “Liviing after the Manner of Happiness,” ʻi ha fakatahaʻanga lotu ʻi he ʻUnivēsiti Pilikihami ʻIongi–ʻAitahoó ʻi he ʻaho 23 ʻo Sepitema 2014. Ke maʻu kakato ʻa e leá (ʻi he lea faka-Pilitāniá), ʻalu ki he web.byui.edu/devotionalsandspeeches.
Ko Sīsū Kalaisi “ʻa e halá, moʻoní, mo e moʻuí.” ʻOku ʻikai maʻu ʻe ha taha ʻa e fiefia moʻoní kae ʻiate Ia pē.
ʻI ha kupuʻi lea ʻoku ou ʻilo pau kuo tuʻo lahi hoʻomou fanongoá, ne pehē ʻe he Palōfita ko Siosefa Sāmitá (1805–44), “ko e fiefiá ʻa e taumuʻa mo e ʻuhinga ʻo ʻetau moʻuí; pea ko e ngataʻangá ia, ʻo kapau te tau tulifua ki he hala ʻoku fakatau atu ki aí.”1
Ko e fekumi taau ko ia ki he fiefiá, ʻa e meʻa ʻoku ou fie lea ki aí. Fakatokangaʻi ange naʻá ku pehē, “ko e fekumi ki he fiefiá,” kae ʻikai ko e fiefiá ʻiate ia pē. Manatuʻi ʻa e ngaahi lea ne fakaʻaongaʻi ʻe he Palōfita ko Siosefa Sāmitá: naʻá ne lea kau ki he hala ʻoku fakatau ki he fiefiá ʻo hangē ko e kī ia ke ikunaʻi ʻaki e taumuʻa ko iá.
ʻOku ʻikai ko ha meʻa foʻou ʻeni. Kuo hoko ia ko e taha ʻo e ngaahi taumuʻa mahuʻinga ʻo e faʻahinga ʻo e tangatá ʻi ha ngaahi kuonga lahi. Ne pehē ʻe ha taha ʻo e kau poto taha kuo ʻilo ʻe he māmāní, ko e fiefiá ʻa e ʻuhinga mo e taumuʻa ʻo e moʻuí, ko e taumuʻa kotoa mo e ngataʻanga ia ʻo e moʻui ʻa e tangatá.2
Ko ʻAlesitōteli ia, kae fakatokangaʻi ange e faitatau ʻo ʻene fakamatalá mo e konga lea ʻa e Palōfita ko Siosefá—meimei tatau tofu pē. Ka ke fakatokangaʻi ʻi he lisi laulōtaha ʻe tolú ʻa e ʻikai hoko ʻa e fiefiá ko ha totonu ʻi he konga lea fakaʻofoʻofa ko iá (ʻo hangē ko e moʻuí mo e tauʻatāiná) ka ko e tulifua ki he fiefiá.
Naʻe pehē ʻe Henelī Tēvita Tolou, ko ha taha ʻo e kau faʻutohi ne u manako taha ai mei hoku ngaahi ʻaho he ʻunivēsití, “ʻOku hangē e fiefiá ha pepé; ko e lahi ange hoʻo tuli iá, ko e lahi ange ia ʻene holá, ka ʻo kapau te ke fulihi hoʻo tokangá ki he ngaahi meʻa kehé, ʻe haʻu pē ʻo tuʻu fiemālie ʻi ho umá.”3 Ko e taha ʻo e ngaahi heliaki māʻongoʻonga ʻoku ʻikai ke faʻa hā mahino ʻi he ongoongoleleí ʻo hangē ko e “ko e muimuí ʻe muʻomuʻa” (Mātiu 19:30; T&F 29:30) mo e “mole hoʻo moʻuí ke maʻu iá” (vakai, Mātiu 16:25). ʻOku fonu ʻa e ongoongoleleí ʻi he ngaahi heliaki mo e ngaahi halafakí ni, pea ʻoku ou tui ko e taha ʻo kinautolu ko e tulifua ki he fiefiá.

ʻI he ʻilo ko ia e meʻa ne nau toki foua ʻi he taʻu ʻe 30 mo e ngaahi faingataʻa ʻoku hanganaki mai maʻanautolu ʻi he kahaʻú, ʻoku meimei fakamamahi ke fanongo ki ha lea pehē. ʻOku lava fēfē nai ke lau ko e “fiefia” e ngaahi meʻá ni? Neongo ʻoku mahino ne nau fiefia, ne ʻikai ko e fakamatala ia ʻa Nīfaí. Ka naʻá ne pehē ne nau “nofo ʻi he fiefia.” ʻOku ou loto ke mahino kiate kimoutolu ʻoku ʻi ai ha kī fakaʻofoʻofa ʻi he konga leá ni te ne lava ʻo fakaava ha ngaahi tāpuaki lahi maʻau ʻi he toenga hoʻo moʻuí.
