ʻOku maʻu ʻe he houʻeiki fafiné ha mafai ke fua ha ngaahi fatongia, ʻi he malumalu ʻo e fakahinohino ʻa e tokotaha ʻokú ne maʻu e ngaahi kī ʻo e lakanga fakataulaʻeikí, ʻo hangē ko ia ʻoku fai ʻe he houʻeiki tangatá. Naʻe pehē ʻe Palesiteni M. Naʻe pehē ʻe Palesiteni ʻOakesi: “ʻOku ʻikai ke tau anga ʻi he fakalea ʻoku maʻu ʻe he houʻeiki fafiné e mafai ʻo e lakanga fakataulaʻeikí ʻi honau ngaahi uiuiʻi faka-Siasí, ka ko e toe mafai fē ia? Ko e taimi ʻoku vaheʻi ai ha fefine—kei talavou pe toulekeleka—ke ne malanga ʻaki ʻa e ongoongoleleí ko ha faifekau taimi kakató, ʻoku foaki kiate ia ʻa e mafai ʻo e lakanga fakataulaʻeikí ke ne fakahoko ha fatongia ʻo e lakanga fakataulaʻeikí. ʻOku tatau pē mo ha fefine ʻoku vaheʻi ke ngāue ko ha ʻōfisa pe faiako ʻi ha houalotu ʻa e Siasí ʻi he malumalu ʻo e tataki ʻa ha taha ʻokú ne maʻu ʻa e ngaahi kī ʻo e lakanga fakataulaʻeikí.”7

ʻI heʻeku akoʻi ʻeni ki heʻeku kau akó, ʻoku ou faʻa fehuʻi loto, “Kapau ʻoku fakahoko ʻe he kau palesitenisī ʻo e Kau Talavou mo e Kau Finemui ʻo e siteikí ha fakataha, ko hai te ne tokangaʻí?” Koeʻuhí naʻe ui mo vaheʻi e palesiteni ʻo e Kau Finemuí mo e Kau Talavou ʻo e siteikí ʻe he tokotaha ʻokú ne maʻu e ngaahi kī ʻo e lakanga fakataulaʻeikí (palesiteni fakasiteikí), ʻokú na fakatou maʻu ai ʻi hona ngaahi uiuiʻí, ha mafai tatau ʻo e lakanga fakataulaʻeikí pea ʻoku ʻikai ai ke pule ha taha ʻi he tokotaha ʻe tahá. ʻE mahino ange ke na taufetongi ʻi hono tataki e ngaahi fakatahá.

ʻOku tāpuekina tatau ʻe he ʻEikí ʻa e houʻeiki fafiné mo e houʻeiki tangatá ʻo fakafou ʻi Hono lakanga fakataulaʻeikí.

ʻOku ʻomi ʻe he ʻEikí ha ngaahi tāpuaki lahi ʻo fakafou ʻi Hono lakanga fakataulaʻeiki ʻa ia ʻe lava ke maʻu ʻe he mēmipa kotoa ʻokú ne fakahoko mo tauhi ʻa e ngaahi fuakava toputapú. Naʻe akoʻi ʻe Palesiteni Pālati, “ʻE lava ke maʻu ʻe kinautolu kotoa kuo nau fai e fuakava toputapu mo e ʻEikí pea fakaʻapaʻapaʻi e ngaahi fuakava ko iá ha fakahā fakatāutaha, ke faitāpuekina ʻi he tauhi mai ʻa e kau ʻāngeló, ke fefolofolai mo e ʻOtuá, ke maʻu ʻa e kakato ʻo e ongoongoleleí, pea ko hono tumutumú, ke hoko ko e kau ʻea-hoko fakataha mo Sīsū Kalaisi, ki he meʻa kotoa ʻoku ʻa ʻetau Tamaí.”8

Naʻe fai ʻe Palesiteni Siosefa Filitingi Sāmita (1876–1972) ha fakahinohino ʻo pehē: “ʻOku ʻikai fakangatangata pē ʻa e ngaahi tāpuaki ʻo e lakanga fakataulaʻeikí ki he houʻeiki tangatá pē. ʻOku toe lilingi atu foki e ngaahi tāpuakí ni ki he … houʻeiki fafine faivelenga kotoa pē ʻo e Siasí. … ʻOku foaki ʻe he ʻEikí ki hono ngaahi ʻofefiné ʻa e ngaahi meʻafoaki mo e tāpuaki fakalaumālie kotoa ʻe lava ke maʻu ʻe Hono ngaahi fohá.”9

Naʻá ne tokangaʻi hono fāmilí, ka ne nau tokangaʻi ʻe kinautolu e Siasí.”15

3. Ko e Hā Te Tau Lava ʻo Faí?
