Jesus Shares the Sacrament

Always remembering Him

Jesus Christ talks to a large group of people, and His disciples bring bread and jars of wine to Him

After Jesus healed the sick and blessed the little children, He introduced the sacrament to all the people who were gathered to hear Him. He asked His disciples to bring some bread and wine.

3 Nephi 17; 18:1–2

Jesus Christ breaks the bread in half and gives the bread to His disciples

Jesus broke the bread and blessed it. He gave it to the disciples to eat. He asked the disciples to give the bread to all the people.

3 Nephi 18:3–4, 6

Jesus Christ holds the pieces of bread, and images of the cross and empty tomb are behind Him

Jesus said everyone who believed in Him and was baptized should eat the bread. When they do, they should remember His body. He reminded the people about when they felt the nail prints in His hands and feet and the wound in His side.

3 Nephi 11:14–15; 18:3–7

Jesus Christ gives one of His disciples a cup with wine

Then Jesus gave the disciples the wine to drink. He asked the disciples to give the wine to all the people.

3 Nephi 18:8–9

Jesus Christ kneels and prays in the Garden of Gethsemane

Jesus said everyone who had repented and was baptized should drink the wine. He asked everyone who drank the wine to remember His blood. He reminded them that He gave His blood when He suffered and died for them.

3 Nephi 18:11

Jesus Christ talks to the people

Jesus said that eating the bread and drinking the wine was a commandment. By eating the bread and drinking the wine, the people showed Heavenly Father that they wanted to keep His commandments and remember Jesus. Jesus said they would be blessed with the Holy Ghost if they did these things.

3 Nephi 18:7, 10–14

Jesus Christ talks to the people, and they smile at Him

After the people ate the bread and drank the wine, they were filled with the Holy Ghost. Then the people praised Jesus.
