ʻOku fie maʻu ʻe he ʻEikí ke tau moʻumoʻua ʻi he fekumi ki he ngaahi tāpuaki fakaetuʻasinó mo fakalaumālié.

Naʻe folofola ʻa e ʻEikí kia [ʻĀtama]: “Te ke kai ʻa e maá ʻi he kakava ʻo ho matá” [Sēnesi 3:19; vakai foki, Mōsese 4:25], pea tukuʻau mai ʻi he ngaahi kuonga kotoa pē mo e folofola ʻa e ʻEikí ki hono kakaí ke nau faivelenga, ke nau tauhi angatonu kiate ia, ke nau ngāue. …

ʻI he ngaahi ʻuluaki taʻu ʻo e Siasí ʻi he ʻotu teleʻa ko ʻeni [ʻi ʻIutaá], naʻe fakamamafaʻi lahi ʻe Palesiteni Pilikihami ʻIongi mo e kau taki māʻolunga kehé ʻa e faʻa-ngāué, pea naʻe fie maʻu ia koeʻuhí he naʻe ō mai ki heni ʻetau ngaahi kuí mo e halaʻatā. Naʻe pau ke nau ngāue. Naʻe pau ke nau faʻa-ngāue. Naʻe mahuʻinga ke nau ngaohi ʻa e ngaahi meʻa naʻa nau fie maʻú, pea naʻe faleʻi peheʻi kinautolu ki he meʻa ko iá, pea fai ai ha tuʻutuʻuni maʻu pē kiate kinautolu ʻoku totonu ke nau faʻa-ngāue. ʻOku ou fakameʻapangoʻia heʻene ngalo ʻiate kitautolú. …

… Naʻe folofola ʻa e ʻEikí, “ʻOua naʻa mou nofonoa; he ko ia ia ʻoku fakapikopikó ʻe ʻikai ke kai ʻe ia ʻa e mā pe tui ʻa e ngaahi kofu ʻo e tangata ngāué.” [T&F 42:42.]

“Pea ko e tahá, ko e moʻoni ʻoku ou pehē kiate kimoutolu, ko e tangata kotoa pē kuo pau ke ne tauhi hono fāmili ʻoʻoná, tuku ke ne tauhi ia, pea ʻe ʻikai teitei mole ʻa hono kalauní; pea tuku ke ne ngāue ʻi he Siasí. Tuku ke ngāue faivelenga ʻa e tangata kotoa pē ʻi he ngaahi meʻa kotoa pē. Pea ʻe ʻikai maʻu ʻe he tokotaha ʻoku nofonoá ha tufakanga ʻi he Siasí, tukukehe pē kapau te ne fakatomala pea liliu ʻene ngaahi tōʻonga moʻuí. ” [T&F 75:28–29.]

Ko ia, ko e faleʻi ia kuo fai ʻe he ʻEikí ki he Siasí he ʻaho ní. Pea ʻoku ʻikai ʻuhinga ʻeni ia ki he palau pē ʻo e ngaahi ngoueʻangá, pe ke toli mo utu pea mo kau pē ʻi he faʻa-ngāué, ka ʻoku toe ʻuhinga pē ia, ʻoku totonu ke faʻangāue ʻa e tangatá ʻi he ngaahi meʻa fakalaumālié ʻo tatau pē mo e ngaahi meʻa fakaetuʻasinó ʻa ē ʻoku maʻu ai ʻene moʻuí.9

Ka ko e kakai nai ʻe fiha ʻoku fakamoleki honau taimí ʻi he fakakaukau ko e meʻa pē ke fai ʻi he moʻuí ke tānaki ʻa e ngaahi meʻa ʻo e māmaní, ke moʻui fiemālie, pea ʻātakaiʻi kinautolu ʻaki e ngaahi koloa kotoa, mo e ngaahi faingamālie, pea mo e ngaahi meʻa fakafiefia ʻoku malava ke foaki ʻe he moʻui fakamatelié, kae ʻikai teitei fai ha fakakaukau ki ha meʻa mavahe atu mei ai?

Ka ko e ngaahi meʻa kotoa ko ʻení ia ko e ngaahi tāpuaki fakataimi pē. ʻOku tau kai ke tau moʻui. ʻOku tau fakavalaʻi kitautolú ke tau māfana mo kofukofuʻi. ʻOku tau maʻu ha ngaahi fale ke tau nofo ai ke tau fiemālie mo nonga, ka ʻoku totonu ke tau lau ʻa e ngaahi tāpuaki ko ʻení ko e ngaahi tāpuaki fakataimi ʻi he lolotonga ʻetau fononga ʻi he moʻui ko ʻení. Pea ko honau lelei pē ia kiate kitautolú. He ʻikai ke tau lava ʻo ʻave mo kitautolu hanau taha ʻi heʻetau mavahé. ʻOku ʻikai hano ʻaonga ki he tangatá ʻa e koulá, silivá mo e ngaahi maka-mahuʻingá, ʻa ē ʻoku ui ko e koloá, ka ko hono ʻai pē ke nau lava ʻo tauhi kinautolu mo feau ʻene ngaahi fiemaʻú heni.10
