Ko e Ngāue Mahuʻinga ‘o hono Fakafoki Mai ʻo e Ongoongoleleí

ʻOku kei hokohoko atu ʻi he Siasí he ʻahó ni ʻa e ngāue ne kamataʻi ʻe Siosefa mo Hailame Sāmitá, fakataha mo e kakai tokolahi kehe ne nau tui faivelengá.

Siosefa mo Hailame Sāmita

ʻI he ʻalu ʻa e talavou ko Siosefa Sāmitá ki he vaoʻakaú ke lotú, naʻá ne aʻusia ha meʻa-hā-mai fakaofo, ʻa ia ʻoku ʻiloa he ʻahó ni ko e ʻUluaki Mata Meʻa-Hā-Maí.

ʻI he meʻa-hā-mai ko ʻení, naʻe folofola e Fakamoʻuí kia Siosefa kuo fakamolemoleʻi ʻene ngaahi angahalá. Naʻá ne tali foki ʻa e fehuʻi ʻa Siosefá ʻo pehē ʻoku ʻikai ha taha ʻo e ngaahi siasi ʻi he taimi ko iá naʻe “tali ʻe he ʻOtuá ko hano siasi mo hano puleʻanga.”

“ʻI he taimi tatau,” ne manatuʻi ʻe Siosefa, “[ne u] maʻu ha talaʻofa ʻoku totonu ke fakahā mai kiate au ʻi ha taimi ʻi he kahaʻú ʻa e kakato ʻo e ongoongoleleí.”10

ʻUluaki Mata Meʻa-Hā-Maí

ʻOku totonu ke tau manatuʻi maʻu pē ʻa e feilaulau naʻe fai ʻe Siosefa mo Hailame Sāmitá, fakataha mo ha kau tangata, kau fafine, mo e fānau faivelenga kehe tokolahi, ke fokotuʻu ʻa e Siasí ka tau lava ʻo fiefia ʻi he ngaahi tāpuaki lahi mo e ngaahi moʻoni ne fakahā mai ʻoku tau maʻu he ʻaho ní. ʻOku ʻikai totonu ke teitei ngalo ʻenau faivelengá!

Kimuʻa pea pekia ʻa Siosefa ʻi he 1844, naʻá ne fai ha tohi vēkeveke ki he Kāingalotú. Ko ha ui ke ngāue, ʻa ia ʻoku hokohoko atu ʻi he Siasí he ʻahó ni:

“ʻE kāinga, he ʻikai koā ke tau fai atu ʻi ha ngāue mahuʻinga pehē? Laka atu ki muʻa kae ʻoua ʻe fakaholoholomui. Ke mou loto-toʻa, ʻe kāinga; pea fai atu, fai atu ki he ikuna! …

“… Ko ia, tuku ke tau fai, ko e siasi mo e kakai pea ko e Kau Māʻoniʻoni ʻi he Ngaahi ʻAho Kimui Ní, ha feilaulau ki he ʻEikí ʻi he māʻoniʻoni” (Tokāteline mo e Ngaahi Fuakava 128:22, 24; tānaki atu hono fakamamafaʻí).
