ʻI ha ʻosi ʻa e faʻahitaʻu Kilisimasí, tauhi e meʻa kuó ke ʻiló ʻi ho ʻatamaí mo ho lotó, peá ke fakamanatu ai pē ʻa e Kilisimasí he taʻú kakato ʻaki haʻo tokoni ki he niʻihi kehé.

Naʻe kikite ʻa ʻĪsaia ko ha palōfita ʻi he Fuakava Motuʻá ʻe fāʻeleʻi mai ʻe ha fefine angamaʻa ʻa e ʻAlo ʻo e Tamai Hēvaní. Naʻe hiki e ngaahi fakamatala ko ʻení ʻi he folofolá he taʻu ʻe 700 tupu ki muʻa pea ʻaloʻi maí.

“Vakai ʻe tuʻituʻia ʻa e tāupoʻou, pea ʻe fāʻeleʻi ʻa e tama, pea ʻe ui hono huafá ko ʻImanuela” (ʻĪsaia 7:14; vakai foki 2 Nīfai 17:14).

“He kuo fanauʻi kiate kitautolu ʻa e tamasiʻi, kuo foaki kiate kitautolu ʻa e foha: pea ʻe ʻi hono umá ʻa e pulé: pea ʻe ui hono huafá ko Fakaofo, ko Akonaki, ko e ʻOtua Māfimafi, ko e Tamai Taʻengata, ko e ʻEiki ʻo e Melinó” (ʻĪsaia 9:5; vakai foki, 2 Nifai 19:6).

Fili ʻi he faʻa lotu hao kaumeʻa, mēmipa ʻo e fāmilí, pe ha mēmipa ʻo e uōtí pe koló. ʻOange fakafufū kiate ia ha kiʻi meʻaʻofa, hangē ko ha kiʻi meʻakai lelei, ha fakakaukau mei he folofolá, pe ha kaati Kilisimasi.

Naʻe mamata ʻa Nīfai ki he tāupoʻou ko Melé mo e valevale ko Sīsuú ʻi ha meʻa-hā-mai:

“Pea naʻá ne pehē mai kiate au: Vakai, ko e tāupoʻou ʻokú ke sio ki aí ko e faʻē ia ʻa e ʻAlo ʻo e ʻOtuá, ʻi he anga ʻo e kakanó.

“Pea naʻe hoko ʻo pehē naʻá ku vakai naʻe ʻave ia ʻe he Laumālié; pea hili hono ʻave ia ʻe he Laumālié ʻo fuofuoloa siʻi naʻe lea mai ʻa e ʻāngeló kiate au, ʻo pehē: Vakai!

“Pea naʻá ku mamata ʻo toe vakai ki he tāupoʻoú, ʻokú ne fua ha tamasiʻi ʻi hono nimá.

“Pea naʻe pehē mai ʻe he ʻāngeló kiate au: Vakai ki he Lami ʻa e ʻOtuá, ʻio, ko e ʻAlo ʻo e Tamai Taʻengatá!” (1 Nīfai 11:18–21).

“Pea hili ʻa ʻeni kotoa pē, ʻo ka ʻosi ʻa ʻene fai ʻa e ngaahi fuʻu mana lahi ʻi he lotolotonga ʻo e fānau ʻa e tangatá, …

“… ʻe pehē ʻa hono taki atu, ʻo kalusefai, mo tāmateʻi, ʻo moʻulaloa pehē ʻa e kakanó ki he maté, pea folo hifo ʻa e finangalo ʻo e ʻAló ʻe he finangalo ʻo e Tamaí” (Mōsaia 15:5–7).

Ngaohi ha kiʻi meʻakai he Kilisimasí pea ʻave ki ha fāmili ʻi ho uōtí pe koló. ʻE fakatupulaki ʻe he faʻa foakí ʻa e uouangatahá mo e anga fakakaumeʻá ʻi he uōtí.

Ko e kikite ʻeni ʻa ʻAlamā naʻe fai ki he kakai ʻo Kitioné ʻo fakafuofua ki he taʻu 83 K.M.:

“ʻE hāʻele mai ʻa e ʻAlo ʻo e ʻOtuá ki he funga ʻo e māmaní. …

“Pea vakai, ʻe ʻaloʻi ia ʻia Mele, … pea ko ha tāupoʻou ia, ko ha meʻangāue mahuʻinga ia kuo fili, ʻa ia ʻe ʻōʻōfaki pea te ne tuʻituʻia ʻi he mālohi ʻo e Laumālie Māʻoniʻoní, pea fakahifo ha tama, ʻio, naʻa mo e ʻAlo ʻo e ʻOtuá.

“Pea te ne hāʻele atu, ʻo kātakiʻi ʻa e ngaahi mamahi mo e ngaahi faingataʻá pea mo e ngaahi ʻahiʻahi kehekehe kotoa pē; pea ʻe fai ʻeni koeʻuhí ke lava ʻo fakamoʻoniʻi ʻa e folofolá ʻa ia ʻoku pehē te ne toʻo kiate ia ʻa e ngaahi mamahi mo e ngaahi mahaki ʻoku moʻua ai hono kakaí.

“Pea te ne toʻo kiate ia ʻa e maté, koeʻuhí ke ne vete ʻa e ngaahi haʻi ʻo e maté ʻa ia ʻoku haʻihaʻi ʻa hono kakaí; pea te ne toʻo kiate ia ʻa honau ngaahi vaivaí, koeʻuhí ke fonu hono lotó ʻi he ʻaloʻofa” (ʻAlamā 7:9–12).

Foaki ʻa e meʻaʻofa ʻo e ngāue tokoní ki ha taha ʻoku faingataʻaʻia. Fakaafeʻi ho fāmilí ke tokoni atu ke ke ʻiloʻi ʻa e ngāue tokoni ʻe lava ke ke faí.

ʻOku ʻofa ʻa Sīsū Kalaisi ʻi he fānau takitaha ʻa e ʻOtuá pea he ʻikai teitei ngalo ha toko taha ʻiate Ia. Naʻe kikite ʻa ʻIsikeli ʻe hoko ʻa e ʻEikí ko ha tauhi pea te Ne tānaki fakataha mai ʻEne fanga sipi heé.

“He ʻoku pehē ʻe [he ʻEiki] ko e ʻOtuá; Vakai, ko au, ʻio ko au, te u hakule ʻeku fanga sipí, mo kumi ki ai.

“ʻO hangē ko e kumi ʻe he tauhí ʻa ʻene fanga sipí, ʻi he ʻaho ʻokú ne ʻalu atu ai ki heʻene fanga sipi kuo moveteveté; ʻe pehē ʻa ʻeku kumi mai ʻa ʻeku fanga sipí, mo ʻeku fakamoʻui ʻa kinautolu mei he potu kotoa pē. …

“Pea te u ʻomi ʻa kinautolu mei he kakaí … pea ʻe ʻomi ʻa kinautolu ki honau fonua ʻonautolú, pea ʻe fafanga ʻa kinautolu ʻi he ngaahi moʻunga ʻo ʻIsilelí” (ʻIsikeli 34:11–13).

Fakamoleki hao taimi mo hao tuofefine pe tuongaʻane siʻisiʻi, hao kāinga, pe kaumeʻa. Lau kiate ia ʻa e talanoa faka-Kilisimasi ʻi he Luke 2.

Neongo naʻe haohaoa ʻa Sīsū Kalaisi, ka naʻe kei fie maʻu pē ke papitaiso ia ke fakahoko ʻa e māʻoniʻoni kotoa pē. Ko ha fakamatala ʻeni ʻo kau ki he kikite ʻa Līhaí ʻa ia naʻe hiki ʻe Nīfai:

“Pea naʻe pehē ʻe heʻeku tamaí te ne [ko Sione Papitaiso] fai papitaiso ʻi Petapala ʻi he tuʻa Soataní; pea naʻá ne pehē foki te ne fai papitaiso ʻaki ʻa e vai; ʻio, te ne papitaiso foki ʻa e Mīsaiá ʻaki ʻa e vai:

“Pea hili ʻene papitaiso ʻa e Mīsaiá ʻi he vaí, te ne vakai, pea fakamoʻoni kuó ne papitaiso ʻa e Lami ʻa e ʻOtuá, ʻa ia te ne toʻo ʻa e ngaahi angahala ʻa māmaní” (1 Nīfai 10:9–10).

Foaki ʻa e meʻaʻofa ʻo e taimí ʻaki hano fakamoleki hao taimi mo ha taha ʻoku puke, taha toulekeleka, pe ha uitou ʻi homou uōtí pe feituʻú. Kole kiate ia ke ne fai atu ha talanoa ʻokú ne manako ai ʻo kau ki he Kilisimasí.

Naʻe kikite ʻa Samuela ko e tangata Leimaná ʻo kau ki he ngaahi fakaʻilonga ʻo hono ʻaloʻi ʻo e Fakamoʻuí:

“Vakai, ʻoku ou tuku kiate kimoutolu ha fakaʻilonga; he ʻoku toe ʻa e taʻu ʻe nima, pea vakai, ʻe hāʻele mai leva ʻa e ʻAlo ʻo e ʻOtuá ke huhuʻi ʻa kinautolu kotoa pē ʻe tui ki hono huafá.

“ … ʻE ʻi ai ʻa e ngaahi fuʻu maama lalahi ʻi he langí, ʻo aʻu ki he ʻikai ke ʻi ai ha fakapoʻuli ʻi he pō ki muʻa ʻi heʻene hāʻele maí, ʻo aʻu ki heʻene hā ki he tangatá ʻo hangē ko ha ʻaho. …

“Pea vakai, ʻe hopo hake ha fetuʻu foʻou, ʻa ia ko ha fetuʻu kuo teʻeki ai ke mou mamata ki ai; pea ʻe hoko ʻeni foki ko ha fakaʻilonga kiate kimoutolu” (Hilamani 14:2–3, 5).

Hiki ʻi hoʻo tohinoá ʻa hono ʻuhinga kiate koe ʻo e Kilisimasí pea mo e ngaahi meʻa tukufakaholo ʻoku fai ʻe homou fāmilí ʻi he faʻahitaʻu Kilisimasí.

20 Tīsemá

Naʻe ʻaʻahi ʻa e ʻāngelo ko Kepalelí kia Mele ki muʻa pea ʻaloʻi ʻa Kalaisí.

“Pea ʻi hono ono ʻo e māhiná, naʻe fekau ʻe he ʻOtuá ʻa e ʻāngelo ko Kepalelí ki he kolo ʻe taha ʻi Kāleli, ko Nasaleti hono hingoá.

“Ki ha tāupoʻou ʻi he fale ʻo Tēvitá, kuo fakanofo ki he tangata naʻe hingoa ko Siosefa; pea ko e hingoa ʻo e tāupoʻoú ko Mele.

“Pea haʻu ʻa e ʻāngeló kiate ia, ʻo ne pehē, Siʻoto ʻofa, ʻokú ke ʻofeina lahi, ʻoku ʻiate koe ʻa e ʻEikí: ʻokú ke monūʻia ʻi he fefine fulipē. …

“ … He ʻokú ke ʻofeina mei he ʻOtuá.

“Pea te ke tuʻituʻia ʻi ho manavá, pea fāʻeleʻi ʻa e tama, pea ke ui hono huafá ko Sīsū” (Luke 1:26–28, 30–31).

Naʻe tatali ʻa Nīfai, ko e mokopuna ʻo Hilamaní, ʻi he loto tui moʻoni ki he hāʻele mai ʻa e ʻEikí. Ka naʻe pehē ʻe he kau taʻetuí kiate ia, “Kuo ʻosi ʻa e taimí, pea kuo ʻikai ke fakahoko ʻa e ngaahi lea ʻa Samuelá, ko ia kuo hoko hoʻomou fiefia mo hoʻomou tui ki aí ʻo taʻeʻaonga” (3 Nīfai 1:6).

“Naʻe ʻalu atu [leva ʻa Nīfai] ʻo ne punou hifo ki he kelekelé, peá ne fuʻu tangi fakamātoato ki hono ʻOtuá koeʻuhí ko hono kakaí” (v. 11).

Naʻe folofola ʻa e ʻEikí kia Nīfai, “Hanga hake ho matá pea fiefia; he vakai, kuo hokosia ʻa e taimí, pea ʻi he pō ko ʻení ʻe fakahā ai ʻa e fakaʻilongá, pea ʻi he ʻapongipongí te u haʻu ki māmani ke fakahā ki he māmaní te u fakahoko ʻa e meʻa kotoa pē kuó u fekau ke leaʻaki ʻi he ngutu ʻo ʻeku kau palōfita māʻoniʻoní” (v. 13).

Fakahā ʻi hoʻo ngaahi lotú ʻa hoʻo fakamālō ki he Tamai Hēvaní ʻi he meʻaʻofa ko Hono ʻAló.

22 Tīsemá

Naʻe faifai pea fakahoko ʻa e ngaahi kikite fekauʻaki mo hono ʻaloʻi ʻo Kalaisí.

“Pea naʻe hoko ʻo pehē naʻe fakahoko ʻa e ngaahi folofola ʻa ia naʻe ongo mai kia Nīfaí, ʻo fakatatau mo ia kuo folofolaʻakí. …

“Pea naʻe ʻi ai ʻa e tokolahi naʻe ʻikai ke nau tui ki he ngahi lea ʻa e kau palōfitá, naʻa nau tō ki he kelekelé ʻo hangē kuo nau maté, … he ko e fakaʻilonga naʻe fakahaá kuo lolotonga hoko ia. …

“Pea naʻe hoko ʻo pehē naʻe ʻikai ha poʻuli ʻi hono kotoa ʻo e pō ko iá, ka naʻe maama ia ʻo hangē ko e hoʻatā mālié. …

“Pea naʻe hoko ʻo pehē foki naʻe hā mai ha fetuʻu foʻou, ʻo fakatatau ki he folofolá” (3 Nīfai 1:15–16, 19, 21).

Naʻe foaki mai ʻe Sīsū Kalaisi ʻa e meʻaʻofa maʻongoʻonga tahá, ʻa ʻEne moʻuí. Fakahā hoʻo houngaʻia ki hoʻo mātuʻá ʻaki haʻo fai ha kiʻi tohi fakamālō kiate kinaua ʻi he ngaahi meʻa lelei kuó na fai maʻaú.

23 Tīsemá

ʻI he pō naʻe ʻaloʻi ai ʻa Kalaisí, naʻe hā ha ʻāngelo ki ha kau tauhisipi angatonu ʻi Pētelihema ʻo fakahā kiate kinautolu ʻa e ongoongo ʻo hono ʻaloʻi ʻo Kalaisí.

“Pea ʻaloʻi ʻe ia ʻa e tama ko hono olopoʻoú, peá ne takatakai ʻaki ia ʻa e kofu, ʻo fakatokoto ia ʻi he ʻaiʻanga kai ʻo e manú; koeʻuhí naʻe ʻikai te nau hao ʻi he fale tali-fonongá.

“Pea naʻe ʻi he fonua ko iá ʻa e kau tauhi sipi ʻoku nofo ʻi he ngoué, ʻo leʻohi ʻenau fanga sipí ʻi he poʻulí.

“Pea ʻiloange, naʻe tuʻu mai kiate kinautolu ʻa e ʻāngelo ʻa e ʻEikí, pea malama ʻa e nāunau ʻo e ʻEikí ʻo takatakai ʻa kinautolu: pea naʻa nau manavahē ʻaupito.

“Pea pehē ʻe he ʻāngeló kiate kinautolu, ʻOua ʻe manavahē: vakai, he ʻoku ou ʻomi kiate kimoutolu ʻa e ongoongolelei ʻo e fiefia lahi, ʻa ia ʻe hoko ki he kakai fulipē.

“He kuo ʻaloʻi kiate kimoutolu ʻi he ʻahó ni, ʻi he kolo ʻo Tēvitá, ʻa e Fakamoʻuí, ʻa ia ko Kalaisi ko e ʻEikí” (Luke 2:7–11).

ʻI heʻetau hoko ko e kau Kalisitiané, ʻoku tau tuʻu ai ko e kau fakamoʻoni ʻo Sīsū Kalaisi ʻi he ʻaho kotoa pē ʻo e taʻú ʻi he tui pea mo e ngāue lelei. ʻOku ʻomi ʻe he Palōfita ko Siosefa Sāmitá mo Sitenei Likitoni ʻa e fakamoʻoni ko ʻení:

“Pea ko ʻeni, hili ʻa e ngaahi fakamoʻoni lahi kuo fai ʻo kau kiate iá, ko e fakamoʻoni fakamuimui taha ʻeni, ʻa ia ʻokú ma fai ʻo kau kiate iá: ʻOkú ne moʻui!

“He naʻá ma mamata kiate ia, ʻio ʻi he toʻukupu toʻomataʻu ʻo e ʻOtuá; peá ma fanongo ki he leʻo ʻoku fakamoʻoni ko ia ʻa e ʻAlo pē Taha naʻe Fakatupu ʻo e Tamaí—

“Pea ʻoku fakatupu pea naʻe fakatupu ʻe ia, pea ʻiate ia, pea meiate ia, ʻa e ngaahi māmá, pea ko hono kakai ʻo iá ko e ngaahi foha mo e ngaahi ʻofefine kuo fakatupu ki he ʻOtuá” (T&F 76:22–24).

Vahevahe hoʻo fakamoʻoni ki he Fakamoʻuí ʻi he taimi hoko mai ʻe feʻunga ke fai aí, hangē ko e houalotu ʻaukai mo fakamoʻoní.
