Two Prideful Kings
Daniel 4 records that because Nebuchadnezzar again became prideful, God gave him another dream. Again, Daniel interpreted the dream. The Lord taught Nebuchadnezzar that he was king over a great empire only because the King of Heaven allowed him to be.
Between Daniel 4–5, over twenty years passed and there was a new king in Babylon named Belshazzar. He was very proud also and mocked the God of Israel during a great feast in his palace. A hand appeared and wrote upon the wall. Daniel interpreted the writing, which said Babylon would fall. That night the Medes and Persians conquered Babylon.
