Evidence of God’s Love
Hosea 11 contains the Lord’s reminder to Ephraim (the Northern Kingdom) of how He mercifully redeemed them from Egypt in the days of Moses. They had not fully followed Him, however, and now some wanted to return to Egypt for protection from Assyria instead of trusting the Lord who led them out of Egypt to protect them. Even with this betrayal, the Lord said He would continue to offer mercy to them. He said He would allow Assyria to take Ephraim captive but not completely destroy them.
