Sin and Destruction
Ezekiel 6–7 contains the Lord’s forceful message about what would occur in the land of Israel when conquered by Babylon. Ezekiel was taken into Babylon before the complete fall and destruction of Jerusalem, so he speaks of this event as being in the future. In the prophecies in chapters 6–7, the Lord especially condemned Israel’s idolatry and said Jerusalem would be destroyed so the Jews would “know that I am the Lord” (Ezekiel 6:14). The survivors would be able to bear testimony that God truly is the living God and that His words were fulfilled.
