Isaiah 27

The Lord and His Vineyard

Isaiah 27 records Isaiah’s comparison of the way the Lord works with His people to the way one cares for a vineyard (see Isaiah 5:1–7; Jacob 5). In this comparison, the Lord explained that the wicked are like dead branches that He will cut down and burn, while the righteous are like strong vines that take root even deeper, blossom, and “fill the face of the world with fruit” (Isaiah 27:6).
