Asa’s Son Jehoshaphat

In 2 Chronicles 20 we find another example of the blessings of trusting in the Lord and His prophets. This time the story occurs during the reign of King Jehoshaphat of Judah. The complete story of Jehoshaphat in the scriptures is found in 2 Chronicles 17–20.

2 Chronicles 20:7–9—The Promise of Praying in the Temple

Although we know that God will hear our prayers wherever we pray to Him, in 2 Chronicles 20:7–9, Jehoshaphat asked for the fulfillment of the special promises found in the dedicatory prayer of Solomon’s temple (see 1 Kings 8:37–40, 44–45).
