Blessings for the Humble
Isaiah 4 acts as a contrast to chapter 3 by telling what happens when Israel turns to the Lord in humility.
Studying the Scriptures
Do activity A as you study Isaiah 4.
-
Interpret the Images
Pay careful attention to the images Isaiah created in this short chapter. Unlike the women at the end of Isaiah 3, the women described in Isaiah 4 are humble.
-
According to verses 2–6, what are the results of these women’s humble actions?
-
What can we do to be like the women so that we can be relieved of our shame, be cleansed from filth, become a “beautiful and glorious” people, and be guided and protected by the Lord? (see vv. 5–6). You may want to look at the following scriptures before you answer: 2 Nephi 31:13, 17; 32:1–3; Alma 7:14–15; Moses 6:52, 57.
