1:13Widow See also Welfare A woman whose husband has died and who has not remarried. The fatherless and the widow shall come and shall eat, Deut. 14:29. This poor widow has cast all that she had, Mark 12:41–44. Visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, James 1:27. The Lord will be a swift witness against those that oppress the widow, 3 Ne. 24:5 (Zech. 7:10). Widows and orphans shall be provided for, D&C 83:6 (D&C 136:8).
