Ko e taimi naʻe fakataha ai ʻa Sīsū mo ʻEne kau ʻAposetoló ʻi Sesalia ʻi Filipaí, naʻá Ne fai ange ʻa e fehuʻi ko ʻení, “Oku pehē ʻe kimoutolu ko hai au?” (Mātiu 16:15). Naʻe tali mālie ʻe Pita, “Ko koe ko e Kalaisí, ko e ʻAlo ʻo e ʻOtua moʻuí” (Mātiu 16:16; vakai foki, Maʻake 8:29; Luke 9:20).

ʻOku fakafiefia kiate au ʻeku lau ʻa e ngaahi lea ko iá; ʻoku fakafiefia ke u lea ʻaki kinautolu. Naʻe taimi nounou pē mei he mōmēniti toputapú ni, kuo folofola ʻa Sīsū ki he kau ʻAposetoló kau ki Heʻene pekia mo e toetuʻu ne teu hokó, pea tuʻu fehangahangai ai ʻa Pita mo Ia. Naʻe tupu ai heni hano valokiʻi fefeka ʻo Pita—ko e ʻikai ke leleiʻia ʻi he ngaahi meʻa ʻa e ʻOtuá “ka ʻi he meʻa ʻa e tangatá” (Mātiu 16:21–23; vakai foki, Maʻake 8:33).

ʻOku ou fie lea atu kau ki he fakahā tuʻu ngali fehangahangai ʻa e ʻEikí ʻo pehē, “Ko ia ʻoku kalofaki ʻene moʻuí, ʻe mole ia ʻiate ia: ka ko ia ʻoku mole ʻene moʻuí koeʻuhí ko aú, ʻe maʻu ʻe ia ia” (Mātiu 10:39; vakai foki, Mātiu 10:32–41; 16:24–28; Maʻake 8:34–38; Luke 9:23–26; 17:33). ʻOkú ne akoʻi ha tokāteline mālohi mo taukakapa ʻoku fie maʻu ke mahino mo tau fakaʻaongaʻi.

Ne fakamatala ʻe ha palōfesa e ʻilo ko ʻení: “He ʻoku hangē ko e māʻolunga ange ʻa e ngaahi langí ʻi he māmaní, ʻoku pehē ʻa e maʻongoʻonga ange e ngāue ʻa e ʻOtuá ʻi hoʻo moʻuí ʻi he fakamatala ʻokú ke loto ke fakafōtunga ʻe hoʻo moʻuí. ʻOku māʻolunga hake ʻEne moʻuí ʻi hoʻo ngaahi palaní, ngaahi taumuʻá, pe manavasiʻí. Kuo pau ke ke fakapapauʻi hoʻo ngaahi fakamatalá, ʻi he miniti kotoa, ʻaho kotoa pē, ʻo momoi fakafoki hoʻo moʻuí kiate Ia.”1

Ko e lahi ange ʻeku fakakaukau ki aí, ko e lahi ange ia ʻeku fakatumutumu ʻi he anga hono momoi ʻe Sīsū ʻEne moʻuí ki he Tamaí, ʻa ʻEne foaki ʻEne moʻuí ki he finangalo ʻo e Tamaí—ʻi he moʻuí pea ʻi he mate. Ko e fehangahangai moʻoni ʻeni ʻo e loto mo e founga ʻa Sētané, ʻa ia kuo fakaʻaongaʻi lahi ʻe he māmani siokita ʻo e ʻaho ní.

Naʻe folofola ʻa Sīsū ʻi he fakataha lahi ʻi he langí, ʻi heʻene finangalo ke fakahoko hono fatongia ko e Fakamoʻuí he palani fakalangi ʻa e Tamaí, “ʻE Tamai, ke fai pē ʻa ho finangaló, pea ke ʻoʻou ʻa e lāngilangí ʻo taʻengata” (Mōsese 4:2; tānaki atu hono fakamamafaʻí). Ka ʻi he tafaʻaki ʻe tahá, ne pehē ʻe Lusifā, “Vakai, ko au ʻeni, fekauʻi au, te u hoko ko ho ʻAlo, pea te u huhuʻi ʻa e faʻahinga kotoa pē ʻo e tangatá, koeʻuhí ke ʻoua naʻa mole ha foʻi laumālie ʻe toko taha, pea ko e moʻoni kuo pau ke u fai ia; ko ia ke ke foaki kiate au ʻa ho lāngilangí” (Mōsese 4:1; tānaki atu hono fakamamafaʻí).

ʻE fai tāpuekina ʻe he moʻui ko iá e taha kotoa ʻoku tau tokoniʻi mo ʻai ke tau hoko takitaha ko e kau māʻoniʻoni. Fakatatau mo ʻetau vīsone lolotonga mo fakangatangatá, ko ha moʻui ia ʻoku ʻikai mafakakaukaua. ʻIo, “ʻOku teʻeki ai mamata ʻe ha mata, pe fanongo ʻe ha telinga, pea ʻoku teʻeki ai hū ki he loto ʻo ha tangata, ʻa e ngaahi meʻa ʻa ia ʻoku teuteu ʻe he ʻOtuá maʻanautolu ʻoku ʻofa kiate iá” (1 Kolinitō 2:9).

ʻUluakí ko e folofola ʻa e ʻEikí naʻe tomuʻa fai ʻo Ne pehē, “He ko ia ʻe kalofaki ʻene moʻuí, ʻe mole ia” (Mātiu 16:25). Hangē ko ia ne lekooti ʻi he faaʻi Kosipelí, naʻe pehē ʻe Sīsū, “Kapau ʻe muimui ha taha ʻiate au, tuku ke ne liʻaki ʻe ia ia, pea toʻo hake ʻene ʻakau mafasiá ʻo muimui ʻiate au” (Mātiu 16:24). ʻOku tānaki ʻe Luke ʻa e foʻi lea ko e ʻaho kotoa peé—“tuku ke ne … toʻo hake ʻene ʻakau mafasiá ʻi he ʻaho kotoa pē” (Luke 9:23). ʻI he tohi Mātiú, ʻoku fakalahi ʻe he Liliu ʻa Siosefa Sāmitá ʻa e kupuʻi leá ni ʻaki e fakaʻuhinga ʻa e ʻEikí ki he ʻuhinga ʻo e fua ʻe ha taha ʻene ʻakau mafasiá: “Koeʻuhí ke lava ʻe ha taha ʻo fua ʻene ʻakau mafasiá, kuo pau ke ne liʻaki ʻe ia ia, siʻaki ʻa e ngaahi anga taʻemāʻoniʻoni kotoa pē, mo e ngaahi holi kovi fakamāmani kotoa, pea tauhi ʻeku ngaahi fekaú” (Mātiu 16:24, footnote e).

ʻOku tatau e fekau ko ʻení mo e fakamatala ʻa Sēmisí: “Ko e lotu māʻoniʻoni mo taʻe hano mele ʻi he ʻao ʻo e ʻOtua ko e Tamaí … ke fakaʻehiʻehi ia mei māmani ke taʻe hano mele” (Sēmisi 1:27). Ko hono toʻo e kavenga mafasiá, ko e moʻui fakaʻaho ʻaki ia ʻo e fakaʻehiʻehi mei he meʻa kotoa ʻoku taʻemaʻá kae ngāue moʻoni ke tauhi e ongo fekau mahuʻingá—ʻofa ki he ʻOtuá mo ʻofa ki he kāingá—ʻa ē ʻoku tautau ai ʻa e ngaahi fekau kotoa peé (vakai, Mātiu 22:37–40).

“Ko ia ia ʻe fakahā au ʻi he ʻao ʻo e kakaí, te u fakahā foki ia ʻi he ʻao ʻo ʻeku Tamai ʻoku ʻi he langí.

“Ka ko ia te ne liʻaki au ʻi he ʻao ʻo e kakaí, te u liʻaki foki ia ʻi he ʻao ʻo ʻeku Tamai ʻoku ʻi he langí” (Mātiu 10:32–33).

“He kuó u haʻu ke fakafehiʻa ʻa e tangatá ki heʻene tamaí, mo e taʻahiné ki heʻene fāʻeé, mo e taʻahine ʻi he fonó ki heʻene faʻē ʻi he fonó.

Ka ko e ikuʻanga mahino ʻo e hāʻele mai ʻa Kalaisí ko e fepakipaki—ʻia Kalaisi mo e kau fakafepaki kia Kalaisí, ʻi he māmá mo e fakapoʻulí, ʻi he fānau ʻa Kalaisí mo e fānau ʻa e tēvoló. ʻE lava ke hoko ʻa e fepakipaki ko ʻení ʻi he kau mēmipa ʻo e fāmili tatau pē.”3
