January 2017

ʻOua Naʻa Ngalo ke Lotua ʻa ʻĒliki

ʻOku nofo ʻa e taha naʻá ne faʻú ʻi Nevata, USA.

“Ev’ry soul is free to choose his life and what he’ll be” (Hymns, no. 240).

ʻI he ngaahi mahina siʻi kuohilí, naʻe talaange ai ʻe ʻĒliki kia Mama mo Papa ʻoku ʻikai toe fie kau ia ki he Siasí. Naʻe ʻohovale mo loto mamahi ʻa Kali mo hono fāmilí. Ne nau kamata lotua leva ʻa ʻĒliki he pō kotoa pē. Taimi ʻe niʻihi ne nau lotua ke ne ongoʻi e Laumālie Māʻoniʻoní pea ke toe fie foki mai ki he lotú. Naʻe lotua ʻe Papa ʻe toe lelei ange fakakaukau ʻa ʻĒlikí ke ne fai ha ngaahi fili ʻoku leleí. Naʻe faʻa lotua ʻe Mama ʻe lava ʻe ha taha ʻokú ne falala ki ai ʻo tokoniʻi ia ke ne ʻilo e hala ʻoku totonú. Hili ʻenau lotu kotoa pē, naʻe kiʻi faʻa ongoʻi ʻita ʻa Kali. Ko e hā ʻoku ʻikai fakafoki mai ai ʻe he Tamai Hēvaní ʻa ʻĒliki ki he lotú?

ʻI he faifai pea fakaava ʻe Livi hono ngutú ke lotú, naʻe ʻikai kei fakamaʻumaʻu ʻa Kali ia. Naʻá ne lea hake, “Ko e hā ʻoku ʻikai tali ai ʻe he Tamai Hēvaní ʻetau ngaahi lotú?” Naʻe sio mataʻi ʻohovale atu e taha kotoa kia Kali, ka naʻe fuʻu ʻita ia ke tokanga ki ai. Naʻe ʻikai toe lea ha taha ia ʻi ha kiʻi taimi nounou.

Naʻe pehē ange ʻa Papa, “Kali, naʻá ke tuku fakalelei hoʻo kató ʻi hoʻo foki mai mei he akó he ʻaho ní?”

“Ko e hā?” ko e fehuʻi puputuʻu ange ia ʻa Kalí. Ko e hā e kaunga ʻene kato akó ki heni? Naʻá ne sio atu ki he matapā ʻi muʻá ʻoku lī mai he veʻe holisí ʻene kató, kae ʻikai ke tautau he veʻe kato ʻa Liví. “ʻIkai … kātaki.”

“ʻIkai naʻe toutou fakamanatu atu ʻe Mama ke ke tautau ia?”

Naʻe tali ange ʻe Kali, “ʻIo.” Naʻá ne sio hifo ki hono ongo tuí.

“ʻIkai ʻoku fakamanatu atu maʻu pē ʻe Mama ke tautau fakalelei hoʻo kató?”

Naʻe tali ange ʻe Kali, “ʻIo.” Naʻe teʻeki ai pē ke ne ʻilo pe ko e hā e kaunga ʻa e meʻá ni ki ai. Meʻa ní ʻoku ʻikai ʻilo ʻe Papa ko ʻene fakamātoato?

“ʻOku ou ʻilo ko e taimi kotoa pē ʻoku tau lotua ai ʻa ʻĒliki, ʻoku tali mai ʻe he Tamai Hēvaní ʻetau lotú—he taimi kotoa pē. Ko e palopalemá, he ʻoku ʻikai mahalo ke fanongo mai ʻa ʻĒliki ia he taimí ni. ʻOku faʻiteliha pē ʻa ʻĒliki he meʻa ʻoku fie fanongo ai ki he Laumālie Māʻoniʻoní, hangē pē ko hoʻo faʻiteliha pe te ke fanongo kia Mama ke tautau hoʻo kató. Ka ʻoku ke pehē te ke taʻetokanga maʻu pē kia Mama heʻene kole atu ke tautau fakalelei hoʻo kató”

Naʻe pehēange ʻa Kali, “ʻMahalo pē ʻikai.”

Naʻe tali ange ʻe Mama, mo fakakuitaha pē kia Kali, “ʻE ʻi ai pē ʻaho ʻe fanongo mai ai!” Naʻe malimali pē ʻa Kali.

Naʻe toe lea atu ʻa Kali, “Mahalo pē ʻe ʻi ai ha ʻaho ʻe fanongo ai mo ʻĒliki ē.”

Naʻe tali atu ʻe he Fineʻeikí, “Moʻoni ia. Ko e fakafanongo ki he Laumālie Māʻoniʻoní ko ha meʻa ia kuo pau ke ke ako ke ke poto ai.

ʻI he fakalau ʻe Livi e ngaahi meʻa kuo tāpuekina ʻaki honau fāmilí, naʻe fakakaukau ʻa Kali ki ha tāpuaki ʻe taha ke tānaki atu ki he lisí—naʻe toe lahi ange ʻene mahino ki he lotú he taimí ni!

ʻI he ʻosi ʻa e lotú, naʻe ʻilo ʻe Kali kuo ʻikai ngalo ʻa ʻĒliki he Tamai Hēvaní. Naʻá ne ʻiloʻi foki he ʻikai teitei ngalo ia.
