Ko e Fakaafe Mahuʻingá

ʻOku nofo ʻa e ongo faʻu tohí ʻi Tala ʻEsi Salama, Tanisenia, mo ʻIutā, USA.

Naʻe pehē ange ʻe ʻĀmoni, “ʻE Mama, he ʻikai nai ke lava ʻo toki fakamaau hoku lokí ʻanai?”

“ʻOkú ma fie fakaafeʻi mai ha tokotaha mahuʻinga. Ko ia, ʻokú ma fakaʻamu ke maʻa mo maau hotau falé.”

“Ko ha fakaafe mahuʻinga?” Ko ʻĀmoni ange ia. “ʻI hotau ʻapí?”

Naʻe pehē ange ʻe Mama, “ʻIo, pea te ke lava ʻo tokoni ke fakaafeʻi mai ia.” “Ko ia, ʻalu ʻo fakamaau ho lokí.”

Naʻe fiefia ʻa ʻĀmoni. Naʻá ne saiʻia ke haʻu ha kau fakaafe. Naʻá ne fifili pe ko hai nai ʻa e fakaafe ko ʻení. Ko e pule fakavahé? Ko e pule ako mei he akó? Mahalo pē ko e pīsopé!

Naʻe ʻalu ʻa ʻĀmoni ki hono lokí. Naʻá ne ʻuluaki maʻu hono sitōkeni ʻuli ʻi he falikí. Naʻá ne faʻo ia ki he kato foó. Pea naʻe tuku leva ʻe ʻĀmoni ʻene pepa akó ʻi he funga tesí. Naʻá ne fakaʻamu ke ʻilo ʻe he fakaafé ʻokú ne saiʻia ke ako e ngaahi meʻa foʻoú.

Naʻe pehē ange ʻe ʻĀmoni, “Naʻe pehē ʻe Mama ʻoku ʻi ai haʻatau fakaafe mahuʻinga. Naʻá ne kole mai ke u tokoni ke teuteu ki haʻane haʻu.”

Naʻá na fakatou hanga hake ʻo sio kia Mama ʻoku tuʻu he veʻe matapaá.

“Ko e hā ha toe meʻa te ma fai ke teuteu aí?” Ko ʻĀmoni ange ia. “ʻOkú ma fakaʻamu ke ongoʻi ʻe heʻetau fakaafé ʻoku talitali lelei ia.”

Naʻe tali ange ʻe Mama, “Ko ha ngaahi fakakaukau lelei ia. Tau sio angé pe ko e hā e fakakaukau ʻa Baba (Teti) ʻi haʻane aʻu mai ki ʻapi.”

Ne aʻu mai ʻa Papa ʻi he hili ha meimei houa ʻe taha nai.

Naʻe talitali pē ʻa ʻĀmoni. “ʻOku pehē ʻe Mama ʻoku tau fakaafeʻi mai ha fakaafe mahuʻinga ki hotau ʻapí. Kuo mau teuteu ki ai.”

Naʻe malimali ʻa Papa. “Meʻa fakafiefia ia. Haʻu. Tangutu. Tau talanoa leva. ʻEinisolo, haʻu angé mo koé.”

“Naʻá ne talamai ke u maʻu ʻa e Laumālie Māʻoniʻoní.”

“ʻOku tonu ia,” ko Mama ange ia. “Naʻe fakaafeʻi koe ke ke maʻu ʻa e Laumālie Māʻoniʻoní. Ko ia ai, ʻĀmoni, ʻi heʻeku pehē atu te ke lava ʻo tokoni ke fakaafeʻi Iá, ne u ʻuhingá ki he hā?”

Naʻe fakakaukau ʻa ʻĀmoni. Naʻá ne palani ke faʻu ha kaati ke fakaafeʻi mai ʻaki ʻenau fakaafé. Ka ʻe anga fēfē haʻane fakaafeʻi mai ʻa e Laumālie Māʻoniʻoní? Naʻe pehē ange ʻe ʻĀmoni, “ʻOku ou tui ko ʻete fai ko ia ʻa e ngaahi meʻa te Ne ongoʻi ai ʻoku talitali lelei Ia, ko ʻeku fakaafeʻi ia Iá.”

“ʻOku moʻoni ia!” Ko Papa ange ia. “Ko ha founga ʻe taha ʻe lava ke tau fakaafeʻi ai Ia ki hotau ʻapí ko hono ʻai ʻa e falé ke hoko ko ha fale ʻo e maau.”

“Ko e ʻuhinga nai ia ne loto ai ʻa Mama ke ma fakamaau homa lokí?” Ko e fehuʻi ange ia ʻa ʻĀmoní.

“ʻIo!” Ko Mama ange ia. “Ko e hā ha toe meʻa te tau lava ʻo fai ke fakaafeʻi Ia ke Ne kau mo kitautolu?”

Naʻe pehē ange ʻe ʻĀmoni, “Te tau lava ʻo lotu. Pea lau mo e folofolá.”

Naʻe pehē ange ʻe ʻEinisolo, “Te tau lava ʻo fanongo ki he hiva ʻoku leleí. Te tau lava ʻo hiva fakataha e ngaahi himí.”

Naʻe pehē ange ʻe ʻĀmoni, “Te tau lava ʻo angalelei pea ʻoua ʻe fuhu.”

Naʻe pehē ange ʻe Papa, “ʻOku tonu ia. Ko e taimi ʻoku tau feinga ai ke fai ʻa e meʻa ne akoʻi ʻe Sīsū Kalaisí, ʻoku tau fakaafeʻi ai ʻa e Laumālie Māʻoniʻoní ke Ne ʻiate kitautolu. Pea te Ne tokoniʻi hotau ʻapí ke hoko ia ko ha feituʻu te tau lava ʻo ongoʻi ai ʻa e ʻofá mo e melinó.”

Naʻe fakakaukau taimi siʻi ʻa ʻĀmoni. “ʻOkú ke moʻoni, Papa. Ko e Laumālie Māʻoniʻoní ʻa e taha ʻo e kau fakaafe mahuʻinga tahá!”
