In the Image of God
Purpose
Although people come in different shapes and sizes, each is created in the image of God. Your body is a temple for your spirit. So instead of listening to all the messages of the world, learn to see your body the way God sees it.
Goal Description
Learn to appreciate the blessing of having a physical body.
Goal Ideas
-
Express gratitude each day for a feature of your body that you may not always think about. For example, could you eat or do your hair without your elbow? How different would communication be without the muscles that help you smile or lift your eyebrows? Isn’t it wonderful to be able to smell good food?
-
Show confidence in your appearance by practicing good hygiene, standing straight and tall, and smiling. Focus on being your best self. Remember that Heavenly Father created each of us in a uniquely beautiful or handsome way, and that everyone is created in His image.
-
Look for the good in your appearance. Each time you find yourself saying something negative about the way you look, say something positive. Try not to compare yourself with others.
-
Make a goal to learn more about good nutrition, healthy exercise, a health problem you face, or something else that interests you about how bodies work.
-
Your body is a remarkable gift and can do great things. Set a goal to help you increase your body’s strength, flexibility, or skill in a sport, music, or craft.
-
Create your own goal.
