Be a Full Tithe Payer

Purpose

Being a full tithe payer is a commandment from the Lord. Not only will the Lord bless you (see Malachi 3:10), but you can feel joy in contributing to the work of the Lord, learn selflessness, and practice self-discipline.

Goal Description

Follow the Lord’s commandment to give 10 percent of all your income to Him throughout your life.

Goal Ideas

  • Find or create a tithing bank and practice putting in 10 percent of any income as soon as you get it until it becomes a habit.

  • Learn how to fill out a tithing donation slip or donate online at lds.org/donations.

  • Pray for an increased testimony of tithing. Read and study Malachi 3:10. Ponder the blessings promised by the Lord to those who pay tithing and write your thoughts in your journal.

  • Ask a parent or trusted adult to share with you their testimony of tithing and the blessings they’ve received by being a full tithe payer. Record their thoughts as part of your family history.

  • Read a recent general conference talk about tithing and share a short lesson during family home evening or in one of your Sunday quorum or class meetings.
