Purpose
Learning to use tools properly can help you fix, grow, and make things. You’ll become more self-reliant and able to serve others. You can also protect yourself by learning to use tools safely.

Learn to use basic garden and home tools safely.
Goal Ideas

Learn to identify common tools and what each tool is used for. If possible, begin to assemble a basic tool kit of your own. You could include things like a hammer, a set of screwdrivers, a measuring tape, and pliers. Consider safety equipment too, such as gloves, safety glasses, or masks.

Before you use a tool, read the instructions. Make sure you know and apply the safety precautions for each tool.

Find a project you’d like to complete. Ask an experienced person to help you learn what tools you need and how to use them.

With the help of a qualified adult, learn how to use power tools. Build something that uses these tools.
