Mei ha lea ʻi ha fakatahaʻanga lotu naʻe fai ʻi he ʻUnivēsiti Pilikihami ʻIongí—Hauaiʻi he ʻaho 22 ʻo Māʻasi 2011. Ke maʻu kakato ʻa e leá ʻi he lea faka-Pilitāniá, ʻalu ki he devotional.byuh.edu/archive.

ʻEletā Michael John U. Teh

ʻOku siʻi ha toe ngaahi ʻekitivitī te nau ʻomi ha tokoni fakalaumālie lelei ange ʻi hono ako fakaʻaho maʻu pē ʻo e folofolá.

Lolotonga ʻeku kei hoko ko e pīsope ʻi he ngaahi taʻu lahi kuo hilí, ne u fakakaukau ai mo hoku ongo tokoní ke mau ʻaʻahi tuʻo taha ʻi he taʻu ki he ngaahi ʻapi kotoa ʻo e kāingalotú. ʻI he lolotonga ʻo ha taha ʻo e ngaahi ʻaʻahi ko iá, ne mau lue atu ai ʻi ha halanga lēlue naʻe ʻikai toe fakaʻaongaʻi naʻe fakaʻotu ʻi he ongo tafaʻakí ha ngaahi fale nofoʻanga iiki naʻe faʻu mei he pepa puha fefeká, naʻe ʻikai toe lalahi ange ʻi he taki sikuea fute ʻe onó (meimei taki sikuea mita ʻe 2). Naʻe hoko ʻa e kiʻi feituʻu siʻisiʻi ko ʻení ko e loto fale, loki kai, loki mohe, pea mo e peito ia ʻo e fāmilí.

Naʻe ʻi ai ha ngaahi founga pau mo ha ngaahi founga ngāue pau ʻa e kakai lalahi naʻe nofo ʻi he feituʻu ko iá. Ko e kakai tangatá naʻe meimei ke nau taʻe maʻu ngāue pē ʻikai fie ngāue. Naʻa nau fakamoleki e konga lahi honau taimí he haʻohaʻo takai ʻi ha ngaahi tēpile naʻe faʻu ʻo ifi tapaka mo fevahevaheʻaki e ngaahi foʻi hina piá. Naʻe toe fakapupunga foki mo e kakai fefiné, ʻo tukutaha ʻenau pōtalanoá ki he ngaahi ongoongo mahuʻinga taha ʻo e ʻahó, tuifio ai mo e fakaangá pea mo e laú. ʻOku toe hoko foki mo e pele paʻangá ko ha ʻekitivitī manakoa ki he kau talavoú mo e toulekeleká.

Ko e meʻa naʻá ku moʻutāfuʻua lahi taha aí he naʻe hangē naʻe fiemālie pē ʻa e kakaí ia ke fakamoleki ʻenau moʻuí kotoa ʻi he sīpinga ko iá. Naʻá ku fakakaukau ki mui ai, mahalo ko e tokolahi taha ʻo kinautolu, kuo hanga ʻe he holiholi-valé ʻo ʻai ke nau tui naʻe fakataumuʻa pē kinautolu ia ki he tuʻunga tuʻutāmaki ko ʻení. Naʻe hoko moʻoni ko ha meʻa ongo fakamamahi ki he lotó.

Naʻá ku toki ʻilo ki mui ko hoku tokoní, ko ha ʻenisinia, ka naʻe nofo ʻi he feituʻu ko iá. Naʻe ʻikai ke u mei lava ʻe au ʻo tala koʻeuhí he naʻe fuʻu kehe ʻaupito hono fāmilí mei he ngaahi fāmili naʻá ku sio ai he feituʻu ko ʻení. Ko hono ngaahi tokouá mo e tuofāfiné kotoa naʻe akoʻi mo ohi hake ha ngaahi fāmili lelei.

Ko ha tangata faingofua pē ʻa e tamai ʻa hoku tokoní. Naʻe haʻu kiate au ha ngaahi fehuʻi ʻi he hili ʻo ʻeku fetaulaki mo iá. Naʻe anga fēfē ʻene fakalakalaká? Naʻe anga fēfē ʻene toʻo hono fāmilí mei he ngaahi tūkunga ko iá? Ko e hā naʻá ne ʻai ke ne maʻu ha vīsone ki he meʻa ʻe lavá? Naʻá ne maʻu fēfē e ʻamanaki leleí ʻi he taimi naʻe hangē ne mole ai e ʻamanaki lelei ʻi he meʻa kotoa naʻe ʻi hono ʻātakaí?

ʻOsi ha ngaahi taʻu lahi mei ai, kuó u kau atu ki ha fakataha ʻa e kau palesiteni fakamisioná kotoa mo honau ngaahi uaifí, ne lolotonga ngāue ʻi he ʻOtu Filipainí, ʻi he Temipale Manila Filipainí. Naʻá ku fetaulaki mo ha meʻa fakaʻohovale fakaʻofoʻofa moʻoni ʻi heʻeku hū atu ki ha taha ʻo e ngaahi loki ʻi he temipalé. Naʻe tuʻu ʻi muʻa ʻiate au ʻa e tamai ʻa hoku tokoní—ʻa e tangata fakalongolongo mo anga fakatōkilaló—kuo teunga hinehina.

Naʻe haʻu kiate au ha ʻata ʻe ua ʻi he mōmēniti ko iá. Ko e ʻuluakí naʻe ʻo ha tangata naʻe inu pia mo hono kaungā-tangatá pea moʻui fakavalevale. Ko e ʻata hono uá ʻoku ʻo e tangata tatau pē kuo teunga hina mo fakahoko ouau ʻi he ngaahi ouau ʻo e temipale māʻoniʻoní. ʻE toka maʻu ai pē ʻi hoku lotó mo ʻeku fakakaukaú ʻa e faikehekehe mahino ʻo e ʻata hono uá.

Ko e Mālohi ʻo e Folofolá

Ko e hā naʻá ne ʻai ke lava ʻe he tangata leleí ni ʻo hiki hake ia mo hono fāmilí? Ko e talí ʻoku maʻu ia ʻi he mālohi ʻo e folofola ʻa e ʻOtuá.

ʻOku ou tui ʻoku siʻi ha toe ngaahi ʻekitivitī te nau ʻomi ha tokoni fakalaumālie lelei ange ʻi hono ako fakaʻaho maʻu pē ʻo e folofolá. ʻI he vahe 26 ʻo e Tokāteline mo e Ngaahi Fuakava—ko ha fakahā ʻeni naʻe foaki “ke fakamālohia, fakalotolahiʻi pea mo fakahinohinoʻi”1 ʻa e Palōfita ko Siosefa Sāmitá mo ha niʻihi kehe—naʻe faleʻi ai ʻe he ʻEikí ʻi he veesi (1), “Vakai, ʻoku ou pehē kiate kimoutolu ke mou fakafemoʻuekinaʻi ʻa homou taimí ʻi he ako ʻa e ngaahi folofolá.”

ʻOku talamai ʻe he Tohi ʻa Molomoná kiate kitautolu, “Kuo hoko hono malanga ʻaki ʻo e folofolá … naʻe mālohi lahi ange ʻene ngāué ʻi he fakakaukau ʻa e kakaí, ʻi he heletaá, pe ko ha toe meʻa kehe, ʻa ia kuo hoko kiate kinautolu” (ʻAlamā 31:5).

Naʻe akoʻi ʻe Palesiteni Poiti K. Peeka, ko e Palesiteni ʻo e Kōlomu ʻo e Kau ʻAposetolo ʻe Toko Hongofulu Mā Uá: [“Ko e Tokāteline moʻoni, ʻoku mahinó, ʻokú ne liliu ʻa e fakakaukaú mo e ʻulungāngá.] “ʻE vave ange e liliu ʻo e ʻulungāngá ʻi hono ako ʻa e ngaahi tokāteline ʻo e ongoongoleleí ʻi hono akoʻi fakapoto ʻa e ʻulungaanga ʻo e tangatá” (“Little Children,” Ensign, Nov. 1986, 17).2

Naʻe pehē ʻe Palesiteni ʻĒsela Tafu Penisoni (1899–1994): [“ʻOku ngāue ʻa e ʻEikí mei loto ki tuʻa.] ʻOku ngāue ʻa māmani mei tuʻa ki loto. ʻOku toʻo ʻe he māmaní ʻa e kakaí mei he masivá. ʻOku toʻo ʻe Kalaisi e masivá mei he kakaí pea nau toki toʻo leva kinautolu mei heʻenau fakaʻofá. ʻE oʻi ʻe he māmaní ʻa e tangatá ʻaki hono liliu honau ʻātakaí. ʻOku liliu ʻe Kalaisi e tangatá, pea nau toki liliu honau ʻātakaí. ʻE oʻi ʻe he māmaní ʻa e ʻulungāanga ʻo e tangatá, ka ʻoku liliu ʻe Kalaisi e natula ʻo e tangatá.”3

ʻI heʻeku tupu hake ʻi he ʻOtu Filipainí, naʻá ku toki ʻilo ki muí ni mai ʻi he konga ki muʻa ʻo e 1900 tupú, ko hono maʻu ʻo e Tohi Tapú naʻe fakangatangata pē ki he kau taki fakalotú.

Naʻe teʻeki ai ʻi he hisitōlia ʻo e māmaní ke maʻu ʻe he fānau ʻa e ʻOtuá ha faingamālie ki he ngaahi fakamatala toputapú ni ʻo hangē ko e taimi ní. ʻOku lava lelei pē ke fakatau ʻa e ngaahi tatau ʻo e folofolá kuo hikí ʻi he ngaahi faletohí pe ʻi he ʻInitanetí. ʻE lava ʻa e ngaahi tatau fakaʻilekitulōniká ke maʻu hangatonu ʻi he Uepisaiti Fakamāmani Lahí (World Wide Web) pea hiki ki ha ngaahi meʻangāue kehekehe. Kuo teʻeki faingofua pehē ʻi ha taimi ʻa e teuteu ʻo e ngaahi leá, faʻu ʻo e ngaahi fakamatalá, mo e kumi ʻo ha fakamatalá.

Kuo foaki mai ʻe he ʻOtuá ʻa e tekinolosia foʻoú ni ʻi ha taumuʻa fakapotopto. Neongo ia, ʻoku toe hiki hake ʻe he filí ʻa ʻene fakafepakí mo fakaʻaongaʻi ʻa e ngaahi ʻilo fakatekinolosiá—ʻa ē naʻe fakataumuʻa ʻe he ʻOtuá ke tokoni kiate kitautolú—ke fakahoko ʻaki ʻene taumuʻa ʻo hono ʻai ke tau “mamahi ʻo hangē pē ko iá” (2 Nīfai 2:27).

ʻI heʻene peheé, ʻoku tau maʻu ai ha fatongia ke ako hono founga fakaʻaongaʻi ʻo e meʻa kuo foaki mai heʻetau Tamai Hēvaní, ʻi ha founga lelei, taau, pea mo totonu.

Ko e Toputapu ʻo e Folofolá

ʻOku tali ʻe kitautolu Kāingalotu ʻo e Ngaahi ʻAho Kimui Ní mo fakamahuʻingaʻi ʻa e folofolá, ka ʻoku faʻa kehe ʻi he taimi ʻe niʻihi ʻa ʻetau ngaahi tōʻongá mo ʻetau tokanga ki aí. ʻOku fakamatalaʻi lelei ʻa e ʻikai mahino e ʻaonga mo e mahuʻinga ʻo e folofolá ʻi he misi ʻa Līhaí:

“Pea naʻá ku mamata ki ha ngaahi haʻohaʻonga kakai taʻe-faʻalaua, ʻa ia naʻe vivili atu hanau tokolahi, ke nau aʻu atu ki he hala ko ia ʻoku fakatau atu ki he fuʻu ʻakaú, ʻa ia naʻá ku tuʻu ʻo ofi ki aí.

“Pea naʻe hoko ʻo pehē naʻa nau ō mai, ʻo kamata ʻalu ʻi he hala ʻa ia naʻe fakatau atu ki he fuʻu ʻakaú.

“Pea naʻe hoko ʻo pehē naʻe ʻalu hake ha ʻao fakapoʻuli; ʻio, ko ha ʻao fakapoʻuli ʻaupito, ʻo tupu ai ʻa e puli ʻiate kinautolu kuo kamata ʻi he halá ʻa honau ʻaluʻangá, ʻo nau hē atu ʻo puli” (1 Nīfai 8:21–23).

Te u pehē ko e fakavalevale ia kapau ʻoku tau fie kamata ʻi he halá kae ʻikai pikimaʻu ki he vaʻa-ukameá pea e fakaiku moʻoni ia ki he ʻauhá. Naʻe fakamatalaʻi ʻe Nīfai hono ʻuhinga ʻo e pikimaʻu ki he vaʻa ukameá: “Ko ia, kuo pau ke mou vivili atu ki muʻa ʻi he tui mālohi kia Kalaisi, pea maʻu ʻa e ʻamanaki ʻoku mālohi haohaoa, mo ha ʻofa ki he ʻOtuá mo e kakai fulipē. Ko ia, kapau te mou vilitaki atu, pea keinanga ʻi he folofola ʻa Kalaisí, pea kātaki ki he ngataʻangá, vakai, ʻoku folofola ʻe he Tamaí: Te mou maʻu ʻa e moʻui taʻengatá” (2 Nīfai 31:20; naʻe toki tānaki atu hono fakamamafaʻí).

Tau toe kiʻi vakaiʻi atu muʻa pe ko e hā naʻe hoko kiate kinautolu naʻa nau ʻilo hono mahuʻinga ʻo e vaʻa ukameá ʻi heʻenau feinga ke aʻu ki he fuʻu ʻakaú:

“Pea ʻilonga ʻa kinautolu ʻe tokanga ki he folofola ʻa e ʻOtuá, ʻo piki maʻu ki aí, ʻe ʻikai te nau teitei mate; pea ʻe ʻikai foki ke lava ʻo ikunaʻi ʻa kinautolu ʻe he ngaahi ʻahiʻahí mo e ngaahi ngahau vela ʻa e filí ke fakakuihi mo tohoakiʻi atu ʻa kinautolu ki he fakaʻauhá” (1 Nīfai 15:24).

ʻOku tau lau ʻi he tohi ʻa ʻAlamaá:

“ʻOku tuku ki ha tokolahi ke ʻiloʻi ʻa e ngaahi meʻa lilo ʻa e ʻOtuá; ka neongo ia kuo fai kiate kinautolu ha fekau mamafa ke ʻoua naʻa nau fakahā kae fakatatau pē ki he konga ʻo ʻene folofolá ʻa ia ʻokú ne fakangofua ki he fānau ʻa e tangatá, ʻo fakatatau ki he tokanga mo e faivelenga ʻoku nau fai kiate iá.

“Pea ko ia, ʻilonga ia ʻe fakafefeka hono lotó, ʻe maʻu ʻe ia ʻa e konga siʻi ange ʻo e folofolá; pea ʻilonga ia ʻe ʻikai fakafefeka hono lotó, ʻe foaki kiate ia ʻa e konga lahi ʻo e folofolá, kae ʻoua kuo tuku kiate ia ke ne ʻiloʻi ʻa e ngaahi meʻa lilo ʻa e ʻOtuá ʻo aʻu ki heʻene ʻiloʻi hono kotoa.

“Pea ko kinautolu ʻe fakafefeka honau lotó, ʻe foaki kiate kinautolu ʻa e konga siʻi ange ʻo e folofolá kae ʻoua kuo ʻikai ke nau ʻiloʻi ha meʻa ʻo kau ki heʻene ngaahi meʻa liló; pea ʻe toki fakapōpulaʻi ʻa kinautolu ʻe he tēvoló, pea taki hifo ʻa kinautolu ʻi heʻene faʻiteliha ki he fakaʻauhá” (ʻAlamā 12:9–11).

ʻOku ou tui ko e taʻe tokanga ko ia ke ako maʻu pē ʻa e folofolá ko ha tuʻunga ia ʻe taha ʻo e fakafefekaʻi hotau lotó. ʻOku ou manavasiʻi kapau te tau tuiaki atu ʻi he hala ko iá, ʻe foaki mai ha konga siʻi ange ʻo e folofolá pea ʻe aʻu ai pē ʻo ʻikai ke tau toe ʻilo ha meʻa ʻi he ngaahi meʻa lilo ʻa e ʻOtuá. ʻI he tafaʻaki e tahá, ʻe tokoniʻi kitautolu ʻe he inu fakaʻaho mei he folofolá ke tau langa ha ivi mo ha ʻilo fakalaumālie, tatala ʻa e ngaahi kākā ʻa e tēvoló, pea mo ʻilo ʻa e ngaahi tauhele kuó ne fanga ke maʻu ai kitautolú.

ʻI hoʻomou fai kiate kimoutolu ʻa e ngaahi fehuʻi ko ʻení, ʻoku ou fakaafeʻi kimoutolu ke mou tukuange ʻa e Laumālie Māʻoniʻoní ke folofola ki homou ʻatamaí mo homou lotó:

  • ʻOku ou toʻo nai ha taimi ke ako ai e folofolá he ʻaho kotoa pē?

  • Kapau ʻoku ʻikai, ko e hā haʻaku ʻuhinga ki heʻeku taʻe fai iá?

  • ʻE tali nai ʻe he ʻEikí ʻeku ʻuhingá?

ʻOku ou fakatukupaaʻi kimoutolu ke mou tukupā ke lau fakaʻaho ʻa e folofolá. ʻOua naʻá ke mohe ʻa pō kae ʻoua kuó ke lau ia. ʻI hoʻo laú, ʻe haʻu kiate koe ha holi lahi ange ke fai e finangalo ʻo e ʻEikí pea mo fai ha ngaahi liliu ʻi hoʻo moʻuí.
