Choose to Be Positive
Purpose
Have you ever heard that life is a reflection of your attitude? You can’t control everything that happens, but you can choose to have a positive attitude. Being positive is an attribute of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and also has a direct connection with happiness and success.
Goal Description
Develop a positive attitude.
Goal Ideas
-
Challenge yourself to go one day without a single complaint. Once you succeed, do another day. Keep doing it until it becomes a part of you.
-
Only say positive and encouraging things to others for one week. Notice the difference in how you feel about others and yourself. Share your experience with a friend or write about it in your journal.
-
Have a little talk with yourself at the end of each day. Ask yourself: What was a good decision I made today? What did I enjoy? What was a happy surprise today? (There is almost always one!) Who helped me today? Share your feelings with your Heavenly Father in prayer. You could also write your thoughts in your journal.
-
Think about difficulties in a different way. When you face a problem, try seeing it as a puzzle to solve or an opportunity to learn something. Choose to see disappointments as temporary setbacks, and failures as opportunities to grow.
-
Create your own goal.
