Do Family History
Purpose
Would you like more spiritual strength and protection from temptation? How about more happiness and help in your daily life? Do family history!
Goal Description
Make family history a regular part of your life.
Goal Ideas
-
Do indexing. If you have never indexed before, take the guided tour on the main indexing page of FamilySearch.org or ask your local temple and family history consultant for help.
-
Does someone in your family have photographs of deceased family members? Scan the photos. If possible, upload them to your gallery in Family Tree, and attach them to the right people.
-
Download the FamilySearch Family Tree app and Memories app to your mobile device and get familiar with them. They put family history at your fingertips! See How to Use FamilySearch’s Mobile Apps for more information. Don’t forget about Family Tree Lite if you want to use less data.
-
Interview a parent, grandparent, or other relative. Use the Memories app to record their life experiences and insights.
-
Find information about an ancestor or cousin who needs to be added to FamilySearch Family Tree so temple ordinances can be done. If you are able to, perform the ordinances yourself. Your local temple and family history consultant can help.
-
Create your own goal.
