Find Joy in Repenting

Purpose

We came to earth to learn and grow. Along the way, sometimes we make mistakes and even sin. Fortunately, the Lord’s Atonement makes it possible for us to repent. And repentance brings joy into our lives.

Goal Description

Repent every day and feel the joy of the Lord’s forgiveness and love.

Goal Ideas

  • Practice recognizing when you make a mistake, saying you are sorry, and being quick to change.

  • Study the scriptures and general conference talks to learn how the Atonement of Jesus Christ makes it possible for us to repent and keep improving. Write in your journal about what you learn and how you can apply it in your life.

  • Pray to Heavenly Father for forgiveness of your sins. When appropriate, visit with your bishop or branch president for help in repenting.

  • If you struggle with a particular sin or weakness, make a list of things you can do, as well as things you can avoid, to help you change. Then put your list into action.

  • Create your own goal.
