You can make a difference in your community by supporting worthy causes and treating others with respect. As you work together with people from all backgrounds, you can impact your community and nation in positive ways.

Goal Description

Be a good citizen in your community and nation.

Goal Ideas

  • Show respect for and be kind to everyone you meet. Listen to their ideas and find ways to show them you value them as part of your community.

  • Learn the history of your community or nation. If possible, you could even visit a historical site. How do you feel about the origins of the place you live? Share what you learn with someone else.

  • Do a service project in your community. Clean up trash, plant flowers, or help neighbors in need.

  • Learn what it means to be a leader by participating in student government or leading a club. Use these and other opportunities to develop and practice leadership skills.

  • Create your own goal.
