Be Organized
Purpose
Have you ever noticed how you feel better when your home is neat and organized? You’ll be able to find things when you need them. You’ll also make it easier to feel the Holy Ghost in your home.
Goal Description
Learn to keep your bedroom and home neat and well-organized.
Goal Ideas
-
Tired of scrambling to find something to wear? Organize your clothes so that you can find them easily. Make it a habit to put your clothes away as soon as you take them off.
-
Reward yourself for keeping your bedroom clean. For example, you could play the “lava game”: pretend your bedroom floor is lava, and everything that doesn’t belong on the floor will “burn up” if you leave it there. When you finish cleaning, treat yourself to a reward like an ice cream cone, extra time with a friend, or working on a hobby.
-
Do you have piles of school papers, magazines, or mail around your house? Work with family members to create a quick way to organize each person’s things. For example, you could have a shelf or bin for each family member. Agree as a family to check your spaces often and put things where they belong.
-
Learn organization skills by organizing! Start with something small, like a dresser, closet, or school binder. Donate, recycle, or throw away what you don’t need. Organize what’s left in a way that makes sense to you. When you’re done, move on to another space.
-
Create your own goal.
