Purpose
We all need to eat, so why not learn the cooking skills you need to eat well? You can take better care of your own nutritional needs, share your talents with others, and prepare for your future home.

Goal Ideas

Learn basic cooking terms and methods. For example, what is the difference between simmering and boiling? Or whisking and folding ingredients? Find a tasty recipe and try your hand at some of the things you learn.

Ask a good cook to teach you how to make his or her favorite recipe.

Create a menu plan of several healthy meals you could prepare for your family. Work with your parents to create a budget, and then shop for the ingredients you need. Make the meals you planned for your family members or friends.

Gather favorite family recipes from your own family and your extended family, and compile them into cookbook. You could include fun facts and family pictures and give the cookbooks to your family members as gifts.
