Purpose

Learning to memorize can help you in just about every area of life: school, church, work, home, and more. Memorization strengthens your mind and can fill it with good things. The more you memorize, the easier it gets!

Goal Description

Learn memorization skills and put them to use.

Goal Ideas

  • Memorize a favorite scripture, Article of Faith, Primary song, or hymn.

  • Take a class or read a book on developing memorization skills. Practice different methods of memorization to find the ones that best work for you.

  • Memorize a talk or a musical number and then share it with others.

  • Memorize an important document like “The Living Christ: The Testimony of the Apostles” (Ensign or Liahona, May 2017, inside front cover) or “The Family: A Proclamation to the World” (Ensign or Liahona, May 2017, 145). You might want to break this goal down by memorizing one paragraph each week until you’re done.

  • Create your own goal.
